Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1970
Recently stepping down from being general manager of a boutique hotel on Deerfield Beach for the past 17 years, I'm now giving my time to mentoring students at Florida Atlantic University in Boca.
I've loved the hospitality industry and really enjoy welcoming new friends from all over the world since I've traveled quite a bit--over 40 nations and all of the U.S. Places became special when I was able to get to know "locals". My hope is that I can extend that personal hospitality to people who stay in our home and make some new friends!
Why the Owner Chose Boca Raton
Our family began coming to Florida in 1951 from Cleveland where my father was a builder. When my parents were finally able to move here my dad often said he felt he had died and gone to heaven.
When they purchased this property in 1972, it was and remains one of the most prime locations in Boca Raton. It's only several blocks from the prestigious Boca Raton Hotel--destination of the rich and famous for decades!
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our home is in the heart of Boca, yet right next to the beach, Red Reef Park/Beach where you can enjoy a picnic in the park, showers after a swim and one of the best snorkeling experiences north of the Keys. There's an excellent yet inexpensive 9 hole executive golf course at the end of your street. It's only a few blocks to the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center which is also a refuge for sea turtles. Spanish River Park is about 5 miles up the road. Boca's most elegant fine dining is 5 minutes away along lovely Ocean Drive and Palmetto Park Road, the main corridor through Boca. Mizner Park, also a must see, is reminiscent of Spain's Plazas, replete with fine outdoor dining, amphitheater where top names perform, and a lovely prominade with picturesque gazebos. Royal Palm Shopping Center is right across the street.
