My family has rented this house twice now and plan to come back again. The house is perfect. It is clean and comfortable. The location is a great draw. North Beach is one of the nicest beaches you will find in Southeastern Wisconsin. It is a couple of blocks from the Racine Zoo which is a small little zoo perfect for small children. How wonderful it is to be able to sit out on the front porch with a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise.

Wonderful home

It's hard to beat a "homey" home that's directly above Racine's North Beach. The many amenities, not to mention beach toys for summer, sleds for winter and scooters for the kids, leave one needing little else to purchase but their own food. The house is roomy enough for at least two families and it's easy to feel instantly comfortable. Our family wouldn't hesitate to return.

large family vacation

This is a very lovely house and the view of the lake from the porch is priceless. The furniture is comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. My husband and I have five kids and we all stayed comfortably in the upstairs bedrooms. There was a minor problem with a shower faucet but the owner had it fixed within hours of our contacting him. He was always kind and responsive, even to the point of sending my daughter's purse back to her (she was so upset about leaving it and so glad to get it back). We had a great time and enjoyed pleasant neighborhood walks, friendly neighbors, and especially the great beach.

Fun Vacation - Again!

Guest: Candy (Kansas City, Missouri)
Date of Stay: 08/24/11 Review Submitted: 09/12/11

This was our second stay at the property; our family enjoyed it so much last year that we returned for another week. The location in Racine can't be beat; we love the convenience of either walking downtown or hopping on the trolley. A local relative stopped each morning to share a cup of coffee on the porch before she went to work. Great farmers market during the summer months; new restaurants to explore; and our favorite downtown gallery! Age range of our group 25-65. After locking ourselves out of the house on a Sunday afternoon, the property owner responded quickly (from Chicago) and we were back in the house within 30 minutes. Thanks! Already looking forward to next year.

Great spot on the beach!

Date of Stay: 07/11/11 Review Submitted: 07/19/11

Our family of eight enjoyed our vacation in this bungalow on North Beach. We loved the neighborhood, the trolley, the downtown area, and the beach. The house was well equipped. There were a few minor problems, such as the beds not being made, the refrigerator being stuffed with other people's condiments, and the incredibly musty smell in the basement (which is where the twin beds and one bathroom are located - really, the space is not habitable, as it is not finished!). Our main concern was that the oven didn't work and the best that the owner offered was to have a new one delivered but it wouldn't be hooked up until the day we were leaving! He was unapologetic and seemed to think this was an adequate response. I wouldn't recommend this rental due to the unpleasant nature of our interactions with the owner.

Owner response:With regard to the above review and weekend stay: Many different types of renters stay in this house. I instruct the cleaning team not to make the beds however, each of the beds have clean linens. I am sorry this renter had to make their beds. Regarding the condiments; ketchup, mustard and the like are left in the refrigerator. But never any food stuffs which have been half eaten or perishable after an expired time. This renter could have throwen away anything she felt was unnecessary . The basement is finished with the exception of a few doors and mouldings. In addition, the full sized washer and dryer, dehumidifier and one of the baths is located here. As far as not being habitable...I have no comment. The stove confusion has been resolved. There is a new stove now in the home. Appliances do break. Again, my apologies.

Great place on North Beach!

Guest: Lake Lover (Lake Sherwood, MO)
Date of Stay: 06/17/11 Review Submitted: 06/27/11

My family stayed here for a week and the accommodations were perfect for what we needed! The house had a great view of Lake Michigan and was directly across the street from the beach and walking/biking trails. The Racine Zoo was just down the street within walkig distance. The house was a little older and in need of some repairs, but everything was functional and basic house supplies were provided. The owner was quick to respond to any questions and needs we had. We will definitely return!

Great house!!

Guest: Todd (Newport, Ri)
Date of Stay: 08/09/10 Review Submitted: 10/27/10

Myself and 5 friends stayed at this house during a week long sailing event at Racine Yacht Club (walking distance from the house). There were over 120 competitors at this event and everyone was extremely jealous when they saw how close we were staying, how nice the house was, and how affordable it was. They were all staying in hotels that were not close to the beach and much more expensive. To top it all off there was a great view from the front porch and a nice sized back yard. We were actually a bit skeptical at first based on how affordable this rental is, but our expectations were well surpassed when we arrived. We would rent this house again in a heartbeat! Thanks to the owner for providing such an excellent property to make our trip to Racine that much more comfortable.

Cute house!

I stayed here last year with my family, we had a great time the beach across the street was really fantastic probably the nicest/best cared for beach i've ever seen. One bad thing is that it isn't all that easy to get too, as its a pretty steep hill down to the beach. I could hike down there but we ended up driving down most of the time because the little kids and elderly can't manage it. Also the street in front is fairly busy but it makes for great people watching. I really liked the house, lots of room and well laid out. They had wifi which was great. One bad thing to mention is that there is no bathroom on the main level, there was one upstairs and one downstairs with the bedrooms. This was not ideal for our group (pregnant lady + elderly lady) but might not be a big deal for most people, I just thought it was worth mentioning.
