Accommodations... The penthouse atop historic Jax Brewery (circa 1890) is no longer a beer brewery but is now perhaps the most luxurious penthouse in the French Quarter. There are 4 bedrooms (including one compact loft room with glass walls and ceilings for spectacular views.) The penthouse at Jax Brewery, where old meets new... 3.5 baths... Sleeps 8 (Also, an optional 5th suite bedroom and bathroom allowing for 10 guests.)
If your group size requires a 5th bedroom, we have a queen suite that can be added to the rental for $310 per night. It is adjacent to the penthouse but private unto itself. The queen suite has panoramic views of the Mississippi River, French Quarter, Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral. It is richly appointed with granite and marble. It has a queen size bed and an ensuite bath with a marble and glass shower.
Often touted as the best location and views in the city, the Jax Brewery penthouse is located in and overlooks the heart of the French Quarter and the “Crescent City Bend” of the Mississippi River. Only the finest interior finishes are found in this one of a kind rooftop palace. Spectacular views of the river are a 24-hour a day event here as the penthouse’s riverfront walls are all glass, giving you the opportunity to watch the cruise ships and paddle wheelers all day and night. There is no wonder why this palace in the sky is a favorite of movie stars, celebrities, corporate executives, and the rich and famous from around the world.
Rest well knowing that you are safe and sound in this very private and secure residence with security cameras, secure pass-code access, and private key access elevators in lobbies and corridors. Enjoy a midday or midnight dip in the private rooftop swimming pool while watching your favorite movie on the outdoor big screen plasma TV. Walk to your favorite restaurant or jazz club: you are within short walking distance to anywhere in the French Quarter.
Want to enjoy a horse drawn buggy ride? No problem: they are located right outside of your front door. Want to take a paddle wheel riverboat cruise? Again, there is no problem since the historic Natchez docks right behind the Jax Brewery. Board a streetcar, which passes behind the property, and take a beautiful ride down St. Charles Avenue through the Garden District sections of the city.
From this rooftop perch you can watch the sunset from the pool deck or the sunrise from your riverside deck. Enjoy your morning coffee on the huge balcony, or sip wine in the evening while enjoying the ever-present breeze off of the river. The rooftop overlooks the most famous landmarks in the Quarter: Jackson Square, the Pontalba Apartments (the oldest apartments in the country), and the St. Louis Cathedral, which all are located right across the street.
The Jax Brewery penthouse is ideally located for Mardi Gras, Jazz fest, and all of the French Quarter festivals and events. Famous Royal Street which is renowned for antique shopping, art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants is only a short walk away, as is Bourbon Street and all of its entertainment, energy, and excitement.
The penthouse is private: accessible only by locked elevator. The rooftop amenities include: hot tub/pool with 60” outdoor plasma TV; Viking BBQ center and cooking station; seafood/crawfish boiling station; cabana with 3 bathrooms; Viking commercial kitchen (including everything you need for cooking); and outstanding views day and night of the Mississippi River, French Quarter, and downtown Central Business District skyline. There is always something happening in the Quarter, be it a festival, parade, convention, or just a beautiful day. Walk to your favorite restaurant, take a paddlewheel cruise right out of your back door, go on a horse drawn buggy ride on a cool night, and explore jazz clubs and bars only a few steps away. This is a one of a kind property in the greatest city in the world...
Shopping option: At the Penthouse you can arrive to a fully stocked refrigerator, pantry, and bar. A shopping service is available for a fee that will allow you to spend your time in New Orleans enjoying the city and not having to waste hours driving to and from the grocery, liquor store, etc and have to deal with hassle of shopping. Simply provide a list of items you would like and they will be delivered to the Penthouse and unpacked before you arrive.
Fishing: Louisiana is know as the "Sportsman's Paradise" and for good reason. Some of the best fishing anywhere can be found 45 minute from the Penthouse. Guided fishing tours can easily be arranged for speckled trout and redfish. Although fishing is good year round, August is usually an exceptional time to fish.
In order to secure your rental dates, we require that you use a credit card to pay for half of your stay. If you would rather pay by check, we will only "authorize" your credit card for the amount due until the check arrives. Once the check arrives we will void your authorization and no charges will ever be made on the credit card. If your check is not received within 5 business days, we will charge your credit card and void your check when it arrives. For more information please see the "rates" section below. We stayed here during May 2011 for the Rotary International Convention. Three couples shared the penthouse and we loved it. The rooms allowed for privacy within the unit and the LARGE roof top patio was perfect for having a glass of wine...or two...or three and watching the riverboats and the ferries. The views are the very best in town. The private pool on the rooftop with a view of the Cathedral spire - priceless. The owners were very helpful and friendly. They celebrated a major anniversary and invited us to enjoy the party! We never needed to leave but the location is perfect! You can catch the trolley, ride in a horse carriage, or just stroll. You don't need a car. I only have two negatives.......1. we had to go home ; 2. we had to go home. It is a once in a lifetime experience in one of the best cities in the world.

AMAZING!!! that's what comes to mind when we think back on out trip to the penthouse. The online pics look fantastic but in all honesty do not do justice. From the minute we arrived and walked in the front door we were blown away by the full glass walls over looking the Mississippi River. It's like nothing we had ever seen before. The Wow factor is off the chart. The suggestions the owners made were all excellent, from restaurants to the fishing guide. We visited in August and asked about a local fishing trip. Apparently August is a great time to fish in the area we were in (Delacroix Island, about 45 minutes by car from the penthouse). My husband, my son and myself caught a limit of big redfish almost as fast as we could cast our poles in the water! It was so exciting. I would highly recommend this property to anybody. It is located in what may be the best location in the french quarter overlooking the river on one side and the french quarter and jackson square on the other. Truly AMAZING!

We had the pleasure of staying at the penthouse in October 2011 for 5 days. The accommodations are gorgeous and the location is second to none. We spent most of our time enjoying views of the French Quarter from the pool deck and enjoying views of the Mississippi River. Extremely luxurious and would highly recommend it to anyone. Huge kudos to all for a family vacation to remember!

This place was amazing! It's in the heart of the French Quarter, walking distance to Convention center, etc. My sorority sisters and I can stop talking about how we didnt want to leave. Its a 3 level penthouse, with a cabana house, rooftop pool, extra entertainment kitchen, out door 50 inch flat screen by the private pool, and views from every angle of the city. The photos do this hot spot no justice. I will never stay anywhere else when I return to NOLA. 5 stars is just what it is and more!

What a great place! It was even better than the pictures and convenient to everything. We went for a family vacation (all 8 of us) and had a wonderful time. The pentouse really made the vacation, as there was a hurricane in the gulf and we had rain on and off the whole time. Everyone told us we were staying at the "best place in the French Quarters" and I believe we were! Despite the rain, we got to do everything we had planned and loved New Orleans. One day we all stayed in most of the day due to heavy rains, but the place was big enough and very comfortable and we had a chance to all be together and enjoy each other's company. We especially enjoyed the pool - every night we would all get together when we were in for the night and float in the pool with a drink and watch a little TV - very relaxing! We would love to come back again sometime.

Awesome location! "Best Views in the Entire City" is an understatement! We rented this penthouse with 2 other couples to vacation in New Orleans. We never needed a rental car - as it is within walking distance to everything we wanted to do & see. The French Quarter is literally just steps outside your door. Plus, you feel rather exclusive using your elevator key to access the penthouse (very secure)- where you have a private pool overlooking the Jackson Square area in which to relax. The penthouse itself is very comfortable - each couple had their "own space" with a private bedroom/bathroom; with a beautiful glassed living/kitchen gathering area in which to enjoy the views & make our plans for the day. With so many restaurants nearby, we didn't use the kitchen very much - but it was certainly well-equipped to do so. In addition, there is a complete separate outdoor kitchen area near the pool under the cabana suite. We all had a wonderful week in this awesome location ~ and look forward to returning some time in the future!

I recently stayed at this amazing penthouse. Words alone cannot describe how luxurious this condo is. There were 8 of us and we've never been to New Orleans. This place is right in the middle of the heart of the city. Walking distance from all the places you want to explore. We actually ended up spending more time at the penthouse then in the city! The heated rooftop pool with jets is AMAZING! So is the master bath with the jacuzzi hot tub. Lots of space and amazing views of the river and the entire city. We're definitely coming back just to stay here. A much better deal than any hotel in New Orleans if you have 8 people or 4 couples. I'm glad I found this place online. The owners are really easy to deal with as well. They give you complete privacy but are also easily available. Thank you.

I had a mini-reunion with 6 of my high school friends in New Orleans in October. We chose to splurge a bit on this Penthouse, and it was ABSOLUTELY worth it! Most of us had never been to this wonderful city, and this was the perfect location to take it all in. The penthouse was immaculate, with incredible views - we almost didn't want to leave. But the city was calling us - right outside our door! We had the best time! This Penthouse was perfect for a large group (but I'm sure it would be perfect for a smaller group as well). And the owners were very helpful with advice on the city, and very gracious. Thank you!!
