Often touted as the best location and views in the city, the Jax Brewery penthouse is located in and overlooks the heart of the French Quarter and the “Crescent City Bend” of the Mississippi River. Only the finest interior finishes are found in this one of a kind rooftop palace. Spectacular views of the river are a 24-hour a day event here as the penthouse’s riverfront walls are all glass, giving you the opportunity to watch the cruise ships and paddle wheelers all day and night. There is no wonder why this palace in the sky is a favorite of movie stars, celebrities, corporate executives, and the rich and famous from around the world.

Rest well knowing that you are safe and sound in this very private and secure residence with security cameras, secure pass-code access, and private key access elevators in lobbies and corridors. Enjoy a midday or midnight dip in the private rooftop swimming pool while watching your favorite movie on the outdoor big screen plasma TV. Walk to your favorite restaurant or jazz club: you are within short walking distance to anywhere in the French Quarter.

Want to enjoy a horse drawn buggy ride? No problem: they are located right outside of your front door. Want to take a paddle wheel riverboat cruise? Again, there is no problem since the historic Natchez docks right behind the Jax Brewery. Board a streetcar, which passes behind the property, and take a beautiful ride down St. Charles Avenue through the Garden District sections of the city.

From this rooftop perch you can watch the sunset from the pool deck or the sunrise from your riverside deck. Enjoy your morning coffee on the huge balcony, or sip wine in the evening while enjoying the ever-present breeze off of the river. The rooftop overlooks the most famous landmarks in the Quarter: Jackson Square, the Pontalba Apartments (the oldest apartments in the country), and the St. Louis Cathedral, which all are located right across the street.

The Jax Brewery penthouse is ideally located for Mardi Gras, Jazz fest, and all of the French Quarter festivals and events. Famous Royal Street which is renowned for antique shopping, art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants is only a short walk away, as is Bourbon Street and all of its entertainment, energy, and excitement.

The penthouse is private: accessible only by locked elevator. The rooftop amenities include: hot tub/pool with 60” outdoor plasma TV; Viking BBQ center and cooking station; seafood/crawfish boiling station; cabana with 3 bathrooms; Viking commercial kitchen (including everything you need for cooking); and outstanding views day and night of the Mississippi River, French Quarter, and downtown Central Business District skyline. There is always something happening in the Quarter, be it a festival, parade, convention, or just a beautiful day. Walk to your favorite restaurant, take a paddlewheel cruise right out of your back door, go on a horse drawn buggy ride on a cool night, and explore jazz clubs and bars only a few steps away. In order to secure your rental dates, we require that you use a credit card to pay for half of your stay. If you would rather pay by check, we will only "authorize" your credit card for the amount due until the check arrives. Once the check arrives we will void your authorization and no charges will ever be made on the credit card.   • I had a mini-reunion with 6 of my high school friends in New Orleans in October. We chose to splurge a bit on this Penthouse, and it was ABSOLUTELY worth it! Most of us had never been to this wonderful city, and this was the perfect location to take it all in. The penthouse was immaculate, with incredible views - we almost didn't want to leave. But the city was calling us - right outside our door! We had the best time! This Penthouse was perfect for a large group (but I'm sure it would be perfect for a smaller group as well). And the owners were very helpful with advice on the city, and very gracious. Thank you!!

  • Fabulous!! i thought by the photos on VRBO it would be a great place, but i never expected it could beat my expectations, which it did pleasantly. pictures cannot do it justice. best views in the city is not an exaggeration...just staying here alone becomes a reason to go to New Orleans...

  • The Penthouse blew us away. The place exceeds the pictures posted on the web site. The views are spectacular. When you walk into the front door of the penthouse you are immediatly blown away by the view thru the glass walls overlooking the Mississippi river. What a spectacular home in a great location. We spent 4 days here and hated to leave. Everything is in easy walking distance. We will definately book the penthouse again on our next visit to New Orleans. And as a side note, the owners provides us with a list of restaurants and things to do that gave us an "insiders" view of the city.

  • Firstly - I am not accustomed to paying these sorts of rates to stay anywhere, but this penthouse seemed a singular opportunity to assure that our New Orleans visit would be as special as possible for the French exchange student staying with us, as well as actually be thrilling for my children, who have visited New Orleans a number of times. Well, that plan worked perfectly, as this place far exceeded anything we could have expected. The location and views are far better than anyone is going to manage to convey in these guestbook comments, but I will say there are none better to be had in the city! Breathtaking on initial viewing and just keep getting richer and richer as details emerge throughout your stay! The place? The master is huge (walk-in closet / built-ins / etc.), with a perfectly appointed bath (jetted tub / dual shower / steam / etc.)... there is a wonderful glass bedroom that is like a secondary bungalow, separate from the main body of the apartment, with full bath, refrigerator, etc... there is a downstairs bedroom that is a wonderfully quiet escape, again with full bath... there is a completely glass upstairs bedroom that looks out over the river and surrounding area like you were in the crow's nest of a ship! Every room is dressed out with the best of materials and finishes... a joy just to look at and a true honor to live in... Private 6th floor balcony swimming pool, where you look down on Jackson Square while enjoying a swim... or (as we did!), watch a soccer game on the outdoor 60" plasma TV mounted for perfect viewing from the pool! So, I went into this feeling a bit at odds with the costs, but left arranging a return stay! Because, like one of my daughters said, "we have to come back; we haven't done all we need to do here... ...I haven't slept in each of the bedrooms"... we will be returning as often as possible! So, thanks Earl and we will see you again!

  • living within 1/2 hour of the french quarter,we stayed at this fabulous property as a "guest in our own city"; i can attest to the fact that the 360* views of the city are second to none; the jax brewery is indeed a secure bldg. we felt very safe and our privacy was guaranteed; the location is primo! restaurants,jazz clubs,bars,casinos, river cruises,buggy rides, and more are all within easy reach; literally steps from your door! it was a very luxurious penthouse and i would highly recommend it to anyone who is planning to visit this exciting and entertaining city
