Wonderful Host and Great Apartment

My partner and I just returned from a one-week stay at at this wonderful Cabbagetown property. It was a great location - quiet and private, in a lovely, historic neighborhood. Everything was as promised: The apartment is comfortable and pretty, though not fussy, so that we could settle in easily and comfortably. There was free WiFi and phone calls to North America, a very well-equipped kitchen, easy parking (with a permit obtained for us by our host), space to store our bikes, and convenient access to a wide array of shops and everything the city had to offer. We had some local friends and relatives over for a small party, and all of them loved the place. The best part of the experience was our host, Tony - Gracious, welcoming, and a font of helpful information, He was friendly and available if we needed him, but otherwise left us to ourselves. We ended up having to leave a day early, due to the oncoming hurricane, and, when we told him, he immediately volunteered to refund part of our fee. That was a welcome surprise! On our next trip to Toronto, we will definitely be contacting Tony in hopes of staying at this property again!

We stayed in this apartment the last week in October with our three and a half month old baby girl. This basement apartment has everything you would need for a much longer stay including washing machine, drier and even toiletries. The neighbourhood is very interesting with lots of historic buildings, parks, nice restaurants, and excellent transportation links (a streetcar (tram) stop less than 100 metres away). We tended to walk to Young Street which is 10-15 minutes. The Eaton Centre or Bay/Bloor street can be walked in 15-20 minutes. We used the streetcar for the journey home most evenings with ease. The owners were very welcoming and even provided a bottle of wine and basics in the fridge. I would recommend this apartment to families or couples wanting a more flexible self catering option to a hotel. We will definatly try and book this apartment when we come to Toronto again.

My friends and I had a wonderful time in this apartment. The place was a gorgeous, renovated, garden-level apartment in a historic building in Old Cabbagetown. The neighborhood was closely located to all the hot spots and we had no problem getting around with ample street parking right around the home. The owner was generous and accommodating. He left us a fridge full of breakfast items, a lovely bouquet of flowers and a kind note. Thanks for a fantastic long weekend!

Tony gave us a very warm and welcome greeting, complete with food in the fridge and a bottle of Wayne Gretzky Chardonnay. Yum! The apartment was comfortable and very quiet for sleeping. Thanks, Tony, for the suggestions sheet - it was really useful. We enjoyed the House on Parliament pub and Big Mama's Boy for dinners and had a wonderful breakfast at the Peartree. Having Starbucks on the corner is another big bonus for those of us with that kind of addiction! Also highly recommend the coconut ice cream at Sweet Creamery. Transit connections are great and made it easy to get around the city.

We were in Toronto because of surgery that was being preformed out here, and this location was perfect. It was very easy to get to the hospital, and everything that we needed was within walking distance. The owners were very welcoming and helped us out with what ever we needed. The suite was clean and cozy, and everything that you need to be able to make meals at home. It was an added bonous to have long distance included in our stay so that we could keep in touch with family back home. If we are ever back in Toronto we would definately look into staying here again!

Tony's place is really - really great! Its complete and very cozy. We arrived as new residents of Toronto in the middle of winter and was able to adjust easily because of the great location of the place (right in the middle of Downtown Toronto) and bec, Tony was very helpful - even extending his help beyond the time of our stay in his place. The rooms as spacious, heating is great - lots of channels in cable and even has many DVDs available - all the amenities of home. Its really beats staying in a hotel. Its also has washer-dryer, dishwasher...etc. So easy to go around town even after dark. Near many groceries, malls and even churches. Really a great deal and place!

I stayed here for 5 weeks over December and January while I was working on a show at the Canon Theatre. The landlords were fantastic. So helpful with every question I had and so sweet too! (They decorated the place for the holidays before I showed up!) It is a great apartment to have visitors in. In addition to the bedroom there is a den/sleeping nook with another bed and one of the sofas had a pull out bed too! So many options. The neighborhood is great, full of restaurants and shops and I felt very safe, even walking home alone at night. The kitchen is stocked with designer cookware and there is a washer and dryer in the apartment too! Overall, this is the best apartment experience I've had on VRBO and I use VRBO several times a year.

Having just stayed in this charming apartment I can only stress how absolutely thrilled my traveling companions and I were with all aspects of our visit. The apartment was well appointed and had a great sense of "home" about it, the owners made great efforts to make us feel completely welcome, and the neighbourhood was lovely and convenient for our day tripping. We have already decided to book our next Toronto getaway in the same spot!
