I loved it!!!!!!!!!! My family and I really enjoyed our weekend at the lodge! It was a nice quiet getaway and we were able to spend quality time together....without interruptions!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: The Lodge was custom designed for entertaining and socializing but with lots of cozy spaces for individual time too. On cool nights you can enjoy the outdoor fireplace from the covered patio or fish from the boat slip. The home sits on 2 1/2 acres of lake front property in a quiet cove with a wonderful view. You will want to visit often to experience all four seasons at the wonderful location.

We had a wonderful time and the home is much nicer than any photo can represent. Plenty of room inside for all and enough outdoor space for 100 people. My only suggestion to any large group is to bring a few simple kitchen item. Everything is supplied but knives were basic and fry pans were rather small. All in all we loved the home and hope to return next year for more fun.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: The best compliment our guests can give us is returning to The Lodge for another visit! We always appreciate the feedback and strive to improve with each one. Once again, the most common comment we receive is "photos do not do this home justice". Thanks!

My fiance and I rented this house for a small lakeside wedding. It had a beautiful view and a just enough room for our 40 guests. The house was beautiful and clean. We used the kitchen dining area for the rehearsal dinner and it all just worked out perfectly. The pictures in this listing do not do the house justice. It was a great find!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: The Lodge at Lake Norman welcomes small gatherings (currently 50 or less) including simple ceremonies to this fabulous home. The lakeside patio with covered lanai gives the guests ample room to socialize while the two level home with two kitchens allows for multiple activities to happen with ease. So if simple and relaxed is what you are looking for, The Lodge is just perfect.

We stayed here for a week in February. There were only 2 adults staying in the home, but we hosted a family birthday party for 12 during our stay. The pictures don't this home justice. It is absolutely goergous. It has everything you need and more. The upstairs kitchen is a cooks dream, and it is stocked very nicely with pots and pans, which is a nice surprise. The downstairs kitchen was nice to have while cooking for a large group. We did not get to use the outdoor kitchen, since we did have snow during our stay. Can't say enough good things about this home. We enjoyed our stay. The owners were very helpful and accomadating. Per the other reveiws, we did not have much trouble with the TV system, but then there were only 2 of us and there is so much more to do there than watch TV. We hope to come back this summer so we can enjoy the lake. Thanks so much for allowing us to enjoy your fabulous vacation homeRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lodge. It is wonderful house with incredible views of the lake. We had a large group and everyone had plenty of room. The TV system was the only negative because you have to watch the same channel. However, that was not a big deal to our group. The house is furnished with plenty of towels, paper products, and soap. This was a memorable vacation for our family. Would definitely consider returning.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners.
Owner response: We appreciate our guests taking the time to review The Lodge at Lake Norman and hope to continue to receive such high marks. The feedback helps us to improve the quality of your stay. The Lodge has six televisions that operate using two different satellites. It is possible to watch a different station by switching the remote to a different satellite signal. Unfortunately, not all six televisions can watch a different channel. We do provide a information booklet at the home with operating instructions plus we are available by phone for any questions that our guests may have. In addition, The Lodge has surround sound both inside the house and outside on the covered patio for your music enjoyment!

The Lodge is beautiful and the views of the lake are great! It exceeded our expectations! Our family from all over the US spent the week here for New Years (12 of us). There was enough room for us to spread out, the guys could hang out downstairs and watch football or play pool and the ladies could hang out upstairs and chat without interrupting the game. With the second kitchen and grill downstairs, preparing food for the grill was easy. The tv system is a little complicated, with two satellites, but once we read the manual, it was easy to get the hang of. The family loved the Lodge so much we have already booked a total of 3 weeks of stays in 2013!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners.
Owner response: Even though the coziness of the log structure and the large stone fireplace make the main floor great room an inviting area to spend your time, our guests just love the lower level game room and bar with the large living room and multiple tvs. The access to the covered patio and grilling area is perfect for preparing meals and enjoying the lake view from all of these rooms. We never get tired of hearing our guests say "the photos do not do this home justice!"

The Lodge was just what we wanted and had a real WOW factor. It fit our needs very well. We had a large group, the grandparents, and four children with their individual families. Even though it was cool weather, we enjoyed the outdoors and the facilities there. There was plenty of room to spread out and feel very comfortable. We had some minor problems with the TV system but the management group worked very cooperatively with us to make the stay pleasant, even though it was a holiday week. Had a GREAT time and hope to stay there again. The proximity to a metropolitan area made it very convenient.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.
Owner response: Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are two of the most popular weeks for guests at The Lodge. The warmth of the log construction combined with the huge stone fireplace adds immediate charm to this wonderful lake front home. Located in a quiet setting and just minutes from shopping, restaurants and quaint small towns full of history gives our guests the best of both worlds. If you are looking for that "one of a kind" location for a family get together, The Lodge at Lake Norman will not disappoint!

My wife, kids and grandkids have a great time for 1 week at this fantastic place. Could not believe all the room we had. Owners were very nice, and the area we were in had a wonderful view of Lake Norman. We were there for our sons wedding in Huntersville, and it sure was better than a small hotel room that's for sure. We have mentioned this place to many of our friends and if they have the chance to visit NC, I think they will rent this place as well.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: The Lodge at Lake Norman is perfect for multi-family gatherings. Whether it is a family reunion, a wedding, vacation or business The Lodge has room for entertaining and relaxing. There are two living rooms, two kitchens, an upper lakeside deck, a lower covered patio, spa and outdoor fireplace. This home sits on a 2.5 acre wooded lakefront lot with a wonderful view and deep water. Furnishings are up to date but casual with a huge stone fireplace in the great room. We are so pleased when our guests enjoy their stay. We hope you are our guests soon!

Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Every one of my expectations was met (and trust me, I have high expectations) and the owner makes sure that each detail is well thought out and handled so your stay can be memorable and easy. The house is absolutely beautiful in a fantastic location and has very considerate neighbors. One thing to be on the look-out for - have the emergency number ready to call immediately. The septic tank is a large area of concern. On the morning of day 3, with only 10 people staying at the house, the septic tank backed up terribly and this ear-curdling screech came from the alarm box in the back yard (you'll can't miss it - it's the little box in the grass with a light on it - "green" is good - "red" is bad). Well, by 11am the plumbers were on-site to fix it... and 6 hours later, they were just leaving! Everyone who rents out this house is aware of this problem and it has been mentioned in other reviews of this rental property, but at this point, it really can't be remedied - you just have to be aware of it and be ready. Other than that, can't wait to be back in the future.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We love it when The Lodge receives a 5 star review. A lot of effort is put forth to make your time at this wonderful home as comfortable as possible. We appreciate the feedback which helps us improve The Lodge for our future guests. Every rental property is not without its occasional challenge but fortunately our guests can reach us quickly if a problem does occur. As with many lake front homes, The Lodge has an alarm to let us know when the system pump is not working as it should. Unfortunately, neither time gave us any warning and we know the signal is not pleasant. Our guests are always a priority and we do make every effort to get the necessary repair make as soon as possible. Fall is approaching and this is a beautiful time on Lake Norman. We hope you join us for some fun and relaxation.

We stayed at this property from 8/12 - 8/18 We had 3 parties of 15 people, it was perfect. This was on a very nice section of the lake, it is in a very secluded area which was great. The house has all the amenities you can think of. No pool, but who needs a pool when you have the lake. The only negative we had was the TV system. It took a while until we had it all figured out. Once we did we discovered that you could only watch 2 different channels simultaneously. You could be watching on a certain TV and soon your channel was changed by someone else on another TV. If it wasn't for this, i would have given a 5star. However, we had a very good time and would most likely stay again.Owner response: Ours guests are always impressed with how thoughtfully designed The Lodge is. The lower level has its own kitchen and living room so the guests who are sleeping on this level have all the amenities of the main floor. Wi-Fi is available along with surround sound and 6 televisions. The system operates via Dish Network with two different satellites. Fall is just around the corner and this location is beautiful when the leaves start to turn red and gold. It is very enjoyable to sit on the patio beside the outdoor fireplace and enjoy the view or bring the kayak for a relaxing paddle around the cove.
