Our visit was amazing. We stayed here for 5 nights and we were so comfortable in this home! The kitchen was great for making breakfast and coffee every morning, and the proximity to Frenchmen Street was just perfect. Regina was lovely - my husband and I really enjoyed chatting with her - and so very helpful! The photos do not do the property justice - this house gives off such a cool and funky vibe. Thank you so much for being such amazing hosts!

Property was a great location, clean, comfortable, and well-furnished. A few of the amenities were not in great working order, otherwise I would rate the property as excellent. Close to Fisherman Street and great entertainment and easy walking distance to the French Quarter and French Market.

We loved staying at this quaint house! Samantha and Regina were very kind and quick to respond to my questions. I loved the neighborhood. The house was soooo pretty and special. I was 4 months pregnant and still able to walk the Marigny, Bywater and the Quarter.

This is in a great location for seeing the city. A short walk to Frenchman St and the riverfront trolley line. From there you can take the trolley or the city bus anywhere in the city. We visited for Mardi Gras parades and the bus dropped us off after the parades just a block from the house. this was great so we didn't have to carry our loot home! The only issues I had was the lack of dishes and pots and pans in the kitchen. Nice stove, but not much to cook with. The washer and dryer leaked terrible and flooded every time we tried to use it. Then we didn't receive our deposit back for some reason. okay for a family with older kids. Would find somewhere else in this area to stay next time.

Owner response: I did refund the deposit as discussed Before this review was written. The washing machine was fixed as soon as we learned of the problem.

We enjoyed our stay at this home in the Fauborg-Marigny neighborhood. It is a shotgun style house, so you have to go through all of the bedrooms, etc to get to the kitchen, living room, etc. It is architecturally a very interesting house. The Marigny is an "up and coming" neighborhood that is rapidly gentrifying. Lots of musicians, artists, neat restaurants and clubs nearby (try Lost Love Lounge with a good Vietnamese joint in the back, or awesome coffee and Filipino food at Milkfish). There are steep steps going up into the house, and the sidewalks in the Marigny are pretty rough, so persons with mobility issues might have a hard time there (our travel stroller took a beating but hung in there). The house could use a few small things like a cutting board, salad/mixing bowls, a decent knife or two but basically had what we needed. It is New Orleans, face it, you're mostly going to eat out and it is almost impossible to find fresh groceries anyway in the older parts of the city. We had to put a lot of decorative items away so our toddler wouldn't seek and destroy them, but it was do-able and people with older children shouldn't have too much of an issue. It is an easy walk to Frenchman St, the current music mecca of the city (which has a great art market outside on Saturday nights, fyi), and another 4 or 5 blocks or so on in to the French Quarter. Just watch yourself at night, as in any other large US city. You might consider taking a cab home if you stay out late on Frenchman or in the Quarter. Samantha, the owner, and Regina, the property manager, were both nice and easy to deal with. There is also a nice sunny little garden out back where you can sit and enjoy your coffee and read the news in the a.m., kind of a quiet oasis in the bustling city. We stayed 5 nights and were so glad we chose the Marigny and not the French Quarter for our stay!

This was my 3rd visit to NOLA although I had not been here for 10 years. It is the perfect distance from the quarter. Close enough to walk if you don't mind a longish walk and definitely far enough from the craziness. If you are here for music Frenchman St is awesome. Great food is everywhere. We were here for a Tulane college visit. Once we visited and realized that was our daughter's first choice, we scaled back the restaurant visits. I mention this because although this place is great, cooking was a challenge compared to the other VRBO places we have rented. Awesome stove, ok pots, no large bowls, cutting board, knives, pasta strainer. Would definitely rent again, though.

We came to New Orleans last year and stayed in a hotel. This year we decided to do something different and rent a house. What a good choice. We were just a few blocks from Frenchmen Street and a couple more into the French quarter. We loved walking through the neighborhood and admiring all of the unique architecture. The house was as advertised. The rooms were cozy and uniquely decorated. It would have been nice to have had a nicer sitting area with a table in the back courtyard. I would definitely recommend a stay here to families. Do check out Three Muses. Great small plates and wonderful music.

This property was fantastic. Clean, spacious, well appointed, and in a wonderful location close to all the action, but far enough away from all the craziness of the Quarter. Highly recommend!

My wife and I won this package at an auction and were eager to go to The Big Easy. The home is wonderful with period furnishings and a great kitchen. Only four blocks from the French Quarter, you are there in ten minutes by car. Great neighborhood, easy to navigate streets (most are one way in the neighborhood), and the kind of laid back atmosphere one would expect from the city of New Orleans. The owners and their staff were a joy to work with. This is a wonderful weekend residence. We would highly recommend to anyone.

My husband, daughter and friend stayed in this lovely home for only one evening as all hotel rooms were booked for a music festival. It is a charming home and much cozier and more quaint than any hotel room could be. We enjoyed the short walk to the French Quarter and also walked to a wonderful restaurant called Elizabeths for breakfast. Would highly recommend, even if you can get a hotel room!!
