Luxurious ski in - out rental home apartment and ski lodge in Big Sky. Full home comforts in a relaxed and spacious ski chalet set in the Rocky Mountains, just one hour drive from Bozeman, Montana.
Located on a warm southern facing slope on the lower slopes of the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on three sides, Casa Big Sky is three minutes on skis (on groomed ski trail passing right through our property) from the White Otter lift which accesses the Big Sky base area and the mountain beyond. You can ski back to just below Casa Big Sky from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas - or take the Cascade lift and then approach the home directly from behind.

In summer mountain walking, climbing , fishing and golf are available. We'll be happy to provide further details.
Casa Big Sky is a recently built two storey private chalet with total built area of approximately 4,000 square feet set in the Cascade subdivision of the Mountain Village of Big Sky , commanding panoramic and unobstructed views of Lone Peak and the Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Area.

Casa Big Sky was our home-away-from-home for several days towards the end of the ski season. We rented the lower half of the home and it was warm and inviting and housed the four of us perfectly. Everything was in good order and we enjoyed easy access to the mountain. The garage was a nice bonus and the views can't be beat. We'd stay here again when we return to Big Sky (hopefully next season). Thanks! Note: visit Ousel and Spur in Towncenter...great pizza/pasta and nice owner and no waiting.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Kurt and Amy, We will be pleased to host yo again next year.

We had a great experience, very relaxing. House is as described, warm, very comfortable and well equipped. William answered promptly to every question we had, including helping my son to fix his skis. Overall excellent! Too bad Big Sky does not recycle yet. We felt pretty bad throwing paper, plastic and cans in the regular trash. I would recommend having some snow shoes available for guests as this are not items people usually travel with.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Flavia, so glad that you enjoyed your stay. You should have asked me about the snow shoes, I could have lent you a pair. Hope your son's ski repair is holding up. Perhaps we will get to meet again on Las Lenas this summer. I know how you feel about the re-cycling, hopefully this will be in Big Sky's future.

Our family of 4 enjoyed our quiet getaway to Montana! The space was extremely clean & well stocked. Not having been to Montana previously we quickly realized the huge benefits of staying in a well stocked home rather than a hotel room. Such as being able to throw in the dryer outdoor clothing as needed; each of us able to have some space to ourselves when needed. The garage for the vehicle was an added bonus! Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Hi Michelle, I am most glad to hear your enjoyed your trip and our home. We hope we will have the chance to see you again next winter.

We had a lovely time at Big Sky, and will definitely return. We may also consider a summer skin trip. The house was a lovely space. We especially liked the bedroom with its large comfy bed and really appreciate the hot tub on the doorstep. We usually don't use hot tubs because you get so cold getting from them. We also enjoyed a BBQ as the snow fell. It was great to be able to see the top of Lone Peak from the lounge. Internet access and the music system were much appreciatedDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We really enjoyed staying at Casa Big Sky and the resort over all. The weather could have been better but on the other hand it reminded us a lot about Finland. :) We spent 5 night at Casa Big Sky on February 2012. Staying at Casa Big Sky was definitely a pleasant, positive price. We were expecting a good quality cabin but the reality was even better. Owner seem to have eye for the detail and it's the little things that make the vacation with out stress and leave nice memories. Things like nicely made beds, towels, high quality kitchen utensils create an upscale feel and separates this place from many others. It looked and feeled like it's brand new. The only minus thing was the heating, we had it in the lowest setting but still the temperature was a bit too high on couple of nights. The only thing that I can think that's missing is the kitchen sink garbage disposal. After all you want to enjoy dinner in the cabin instead of eating out every night like you would have to if staying in a hotel.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Antti, really glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The weather may not have been sunny, but the snow certainly was .... which is always a trade off. On the temperature I noticed several of your group enjoyed rolling in the snow after using the hot tub - so perhaps you Finns like it really cold <g>. There are thermostats in both the living room and master bedroom (did you spot them both) that can always be turned down (or even off) if you like it cold.

My husband and I stayed here with our two children for a week and our experience could not have been better! The photos accurately reflect the pristine and impeccably furnished space. Everything in the unit is high quality and brand-new. The owner is delightful and could not have been more helpful and accommodating. And, of course, the skiing at Big Sky is incredible! We would definitely rent this space again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks Mara, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to see you again next year either in Casa Big Sky or Casa Farellones, Chile

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.
Why the Owner Chose Cascade:
Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in north America. We had been visiting (and renting) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased. The house is primarily for my wife and I, but when we do not have friends and family visiting, or when we are not in residence, we like to defray operation costs by renting the spaces we are not using.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
The space and the peace and quiet. Free roaming wildlife - foxes, elk, moose and the occasional bear are our closest neighbors. Yet all this is within ski access (or 3 minutes drive) of two significant resorts.
