  My friends and I stayed at this house after I had taken the bar exam, and it was just what I needed. The house is really cute and has a very interesting design (skylights in the upstairs floor so that you can see the sky from the bottom level), and there is a picnic table outside where we could relax and enjoy ourselves. The owner was always very communicative and helpful, and provided us with a list of local restaurants and sights. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves immensely in our long weekend in Ojai. We would definitely recommend this house to others.

  We stayed at the Dwell House (Agave House) in Ojai for 2 weeks. The cottage was a lovely, small place exactly like the photos in the prospectus advertizing the place. It was clean, had a great view of the hills and orchards, and had a unique architectural design and construction. The place suited our needs perfectly. The owner had given us a list of Ojai attractions, restaurants, etc, but the best attractions for us were the hikes throughout the Ojai area, especially the one up Horn Canyon, which is the driveway outside the door of the cottage. If you are looking for a fancy house with lots of room, this cottage is not your place. But, if you are looking for a very peaceful place for 2, a yard for the small dog to walk around in and a very unique feel that captures the essence of rural Ojai, this is the place. The house is tiny, but the use of glass and the openness of the rooms make it feel large and comfortable. The only difficulty we had was finding the house at night when we arrived, as the description left out a few quirky details on how to locate the property. But that was the only difficulty we had for the entire 2 weeks. We have already recommended the cottage to several of our friends. We would return again if we have the opportunity to go back to Ojai.

  I would highly recommend this vacation rental. Although a little rustic, for the money it is an exceptional value. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and found everything to be accurately described. The property was clean and well maintained and the owners parents live next door and were very helpful with any requests we had. The owner was also helpful and responsive to all our requests and very accommodating on allowing us an extra day at the last minute. The locality was fantastic and we enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. There was a wonderful trail for hiking and a short but gorgeous drive to town. We mostly ate at the house as the facility for cooking etc was excellent. I would definitely stay here again, everything was as we expected.

  This house is really one of a kind. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with eucalyptus trees and agave plants all around and a beautiful backyard. We hiked right up the trail from the house into the mountain and saw pink pepper and avocado trees among much other beauty. The house itself is a work of art, with skylights, even some IN THE FLOOR to light up the downstairs, amazing! The decor is tasteful and eclectic, loved the lighting and the comfy platform bed downstairs. Would've loved a real fireplace but the fake ones are nicer than a standard heater and did a nice job keeping us warm. Love this place!

  I recenlty stayed in Casa Adobe at the end of July/ beginning of August. I must say that the property was love at first site, from the 1st moment I stumbled upon it on VRBO. My interaction via email w/ Caitlyn, the owner was very pleasant and professional. Being an ex- resident of Ventura & Los Angeles, now living in Tulum, Mexico , a very small secluded town nestled in the jungle by the Caribbean Sea, I was looking for a a quiet place in the middle of nature. Upon my arrival in LAX, then Ventura, I went through a day or so of aclimating to the hustle and bustle of the city life, eve though Ventura is a small city. As soon as I drove up to Ojai, through the orange groves, and Eucalyptus lined streets and found my way to Casa Adbe, I felt a sense of great relief, and felt immediatley so at home! The house was exactly like in the photos, if not more beautiful! The welcome touches left by Caitlyn were very well appreciated it! Not only is the house extremely pituresque ,luminous and very comfortable, all of the finishing touches are very thought out to insure complete comfort for the guests! The claw foot bathtub, and the guest bathrobe were the best part, as well as the very comfortable bed, soft cotton sheets and duvet, I felt like I was waking up in a cocoon in the morning! I was also blessed by the full moon during my stay. It is obvious that Caitlyn has put her heart and soul into her home making it so welcoming for her guests!

  What a find! We brought our kids here for the weekend, and plan to return both with and without them as the Dwell/Agave house is a perfect getaway for families, couples, and I'll admit it--I might sneak back alone! Trust the reviews on this one. This place is great--even better than the pictures. Nestled in the woods, the rustic cabin exterior harbors a surprisingly light and bright modern interior. The home is pristine with the scent of fresh flowers and pine filling both floors, that are cozily linked by skylights in the ceiling. The owner, Caitlin, has utilized a wonderfully eclectic/Bohemian decor that awes and inspires. We loved the great reads she left on her bookshelf as well as the style/decor magazines we snuck to the hammock. Lovely views, comfy beds, candles, great art, complimentary kitchen and bath treats, and all the modern conveniences (my husband wouldn't even agree to come without the promise of his wifi)... you won't want to leave the house. But you will, because you're in the charming Ojai valley, where you really should follow Caitlin's recommendations (left in the house instructions) and explore great eats and things to do. We would absolutely recommend this find to others, unless you're thinking about going the same weekend we hope to return! :)

  This gorgeous cabin is located in one of the most gorgeous areas of California! We loved our stay so much, I truley couldnt say enough good things, but here are a few highlighs! I especially loved waking up in the beautiful bedroom surrounded by windows and trees. I cherished the claw foot bath tub with long baths (the amazing bath oils Caitlin leaves for you were a perfect addition). The skylights offered the best natural lighting I have ever experienced! The bohemian decor and art is straight out of a design magazine and but makes you feel very at home and comfortable. We enjoyed evening fires on the patio while listening to the nature around us. It is truly a place of sanctuary and retreat. We felt relaxed and revived when we returned home and can't stop reminincimg and sharing the place with our friends and family! Ojai is such q gem. We loved the food, farmers market, kind people, and parks for our little girl and dog. We will be back again soon and hopefully many years to come! Thank you Cautlin for creating such an amazing place and sharing It with others!

  After visiting Ojai a number of times for a 2yr training I'm participating in, and bouncing around from rental to rental, I finally found this jewel in the forest that fit juuust right. Super funky, inspiring decor nestled into an enclave of equally great little homes under the trees. Was there with a colleague. It slept the two of us comfortably and was the perfect place to wake up to a steaming cup of tea and some great music. It's a little light on kitchen equipment, so if you're someone who needs that kind of thing, come prepared. Otherwise, highly recommended. It's quiet, it's a very pretty setting, it's unique and the owner is really easy to deal with.

  Me and my husband needed a break from EVERYTHING (including our two kids). Caitlin's place is tucked away in a beautiful part of Ojai. My first thought after we arrived and explored the bungalow and the the grounds was I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE. The place is magical indoors and outdoors and is completely original. We are very picky about cleanliness and aesthetics and the Dwell House surpassed our expectations. Caitlin has a unique taste and her tree-house is truly inspiring, We love eating out, but ended up staying in and cooking simple meals because we loved it so much. Thank you, Caitlin. We'll be back.

  We rented Agave House to stay for a week at the time of my daughter's Ojai wedding. Agave House is delightful; it grows on you: the architecture - light, skylights, mirrors, and charming garden. I took a chance on Agave House mainly due to Caitlin's prompt, attentive response to the million questions that I presented. I wanted to have a get together to meet the groom's family and expected family to be coming and going with wedding preparations. Caitlin was most accommodating and cheerful. She went the extra mile to make our stay pleasantl. We enjoyed being close, but away from town. We feel we were able to understand Ojai's uniqueness at a deeper level by living were its people dwell, alongside it's orchards and mountain paths. Need to be ok with going up and down some stairs, worth the effort!
