Our upper level unit features the most spectacular views from our choice lot and a hot tub for relaxing after a strenuous day of activity. The lower level features a pool table and whirlpool tub in the master bath.
The home is light-filled and spacious with windows, glass doors and cathedral ceilings abounding. Newly furnished including games, videos and miniature golf putting green. You'll feel right at home in front of the cozy wood-burning stone fireplace or out on the expansive deck listening to the brook and taking in the mountains and slopes. Ceiling fans throughout. We recognize that part of a weekend getaway involves easy packing. We really enjoyed our time here. We enjoyed the furnishings and surroundings, including seeing 7 to 10 deer at the nearby small lake. Fun things to do with family are a very short drive within the resort from this location - mini golf, go karts, snow tubing. We really liked having the board games available that are kept there by the owner. Great stay!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

My wife and I had the good fortune to rent this property several times. Our reason was always associated with James Madison University events, from freshman year (2005) right up to graduation (2009). It is the perfect house for gathering with the family with ample room to entertain friends whether for the evening or a weekend. The place is clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is a short pleasant ride into Harrisonburg or the many amenities the resort has to offer is enough to keep everyone entertained. The quiet setting with a tree-lined view of the golf course as well as the running brook offers a chance to see wildlife right from the raised deck. The hot tube is an added bonus and always a great way to end the day. I would not look anywhere else if or when I return to the Harrisonburg area and would recommend this rental to anyone who asks. This is a rental with everything you need to feel at home.

The owner was great to work with and was especially accommodating since it was a last minute rental. We were traveling with another couple and found the split bedroom floor plan excellent for privacy. Even though we didn't cook, the kitchen seemed to be very well equipped and stocked with many pantry items you would need for cooking (salt, pepper, sugar, spices, etc.) We stayed in early October and the weather was great for sitting out on the deck. The deck is very private and we felt at one with nature. For the cooler evenings, it was great to be able to build a fire in the lovely fireplace in the Living Room. Massanutten Resort has many great adult and family activities. The owner provided lots of information on Massanutten Resort and the surrounding area. If I had to find a negative about the property, it would be the extremely steep driveway down to the house. Luckily, it's not on a main road and there was a small gravel area on the street at the top of the driveway, so we parked there and walked down to the house.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children.

My wife, children aged 3 & 10, dog and myself fled Hurricane Irene from Virginia Beach at the last minute and spent 3 nights here. The house was exacrly as advertised - extremely clean and well-kept, with all the amenities included. We cooked most meals and generally relaxed and enjoyed the quiet. The kids loved the hot tub, satellite TV, and even the old-fashioned board games. It was a great family mini-vacation. The house is very private and beautifully sited on the moutainside, but close to all of the amenities Massanutten has to offer. The owner was very helpful even though I rented at the very last minute. I would definitely recommend this property.
