  The apartment is nice, well equiped and very well situated. The area is very quiet with a small supermarket a few meters away. We were three adults and we received a perfect welcome. I warmly recommend this rental

  Pat, thank you so much for allowing us to rent your apartment in Antwerp. We came to Belgium to visit the Ardennes American Cemetary in Neupre, our mother's brother is buried there. He is a WWII Metal of Honor winner and she had never seen his grave. We decided to stay in Antwerp because your apartment looked so nice on the VRBO site. My niece also joined us from Paris and the king bed for us and the 2 twins for our mom and niece were perfect. We were able to walk to many of the sites in Antwerp without needing our rental car. The cathedral, Grand Square, shopping and many restrurants were very easy to find close by. A quick drive (only 30 minutes) to Brussels to take my niece to the train. We had in car navigation so getting around was easy. We were able to park our rental car in a parking garage 2 blocks down for 17 Euros/night, not bad for in city parking. The free Wifi allowed us to keep in touch with family and post vacation pictures. The apartment was clean and stocked with some basic items such as linens, towels and kitchen spices and cleaning supplies. The apartment is on the 4th floor but the elevator made it a fine location for us and our mom who is 91. We went to the Berlin restaurant for breakfast and a late dinner. We also went to the Kulmintor (an interesting, eclectic experience complete with local color, vines of hops, cats and more beers to order than I have ever seen in one place). We also went to the Sushi Shop, a fun night out on the town. Again, Pat we so appreciate the opportunity to stay in your apartment for a week. We would love to bring our beer loving friends back with us some time. The apartment pictures showed the place very accurately and the description was very complete. Thank you for promptly answering any questions we had before arriving. The only suggestion would be a better explaination for what to do with the garbage. We missed taking it to the street on the appropriate day and didn't know to sort it until we read some of the literature in one of the drawers, The gentleman who let us in didn't explain that there was information for us in that drawer.   The pre-booking communication via email was prompt and efficient. The owners were unable to meet us at check in, check out or when an oven malfunctioned.. The 3 person elevator to the 4th floor functioned well. The apartment hall entrance was in need of painting. In contrast, the living room and kitchen had been recently updated. The kitchen had laminate counters and the living and bed rooms had IKEA-like modern furnishing. The living room was clean though plates and cups in need of washing in kitchen cabinets and dust bunnies noted under the beds. Parking is available at 21 euros per day in neighboring garages. Groenplaats is a half kilometer walk. As noted by others, the apartment is in close proximity to numerous beer pubs such as the Kulminator. Belgian beer is wonderful and the location is ideal for pub crawling. The owner requests that you take all garbage with you when you leave. Garbage is picked up once a week. Having to purchase toilet paper was an unwanted surprise. In summary, Antwerp is a beautiful city though this is our first of many VRBO experiences that did not meet our expectations.

  Owner response: I'm sorry you were not happy with your stay, I could tell by the way you left the apartment. There is always a few days of toilet paper in the apartment for renters, I'm sorry if this was a problem. VRBO is vacation rental homes by owners and not a hotel that is why we ask in the contract that people leave the apartment as they receive it. Please read your contact again. There was a misunderstanding about the garbage, I do not expect renters to take out the garbage. As was stated in your contract that the cleaning fee was specifically for linens, supplies, and garbage disposal.

  A perfect week in an ideal central location walking distance from almost everything. The owners ensured that everything was in working order and comfortable in this spacious bright apartment. We chose Antwerp based on this VRBO, and it was the best place for our first exposure to Belgium. The apartment also happens to be a block from Kulminator, the Mecca for beer officianados, a small dusty bar with vintage beers and impossible to find Trappist varieties. The owners and regulars were friendly, and imagine finding visitors from Perth and Buenos Aires, making return visits to this special place. This VRBO was ideal, and we hated to leave.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

  Owner response: We loved the location from the first moment we saw the apartment. Especially being on the 4th floor above the city roofs looking down on the people below. It gives privacy, a lot of light and the elevator for easy access. The Kulminator is a must see for the best beer selection in Antwerpen. So glad you enjoyed yourselves.   Superb location in the center of Antwerp not far away from the main attractions Easy access to apartment with lift. Nicely furnished apartment with modern equipment and state of the art kitchen and bathroom, well maintained. Very friendly owner who physically showed us where to park for free in Antwerp not far from the apartment Would definitely chose this apartment on any further visit to Antwerp

  My sister and I stayed for a week in April. The apartment was super convenient, airy and well equipped. We loved all the nearby restaurants, bakery, etc as well as the quick access to the Oudaan district. The flat was quiet, clean and comfortable with a pretty view over the rooftops od Antwerp. My one and only suggestion would be the addition of a toaster! I would definitely stay again and in fact, look forward to bringing my husband to Antwerp and staying here. And a tip for those who want to visit Brussels but want to avoid the high prices - stay in beautiful Antwerp and take the inter-city train to Brussels. It is easy, quick and inexpensive and brings you right into central Brussels.

  This is a true gem of an apartment. I've used vrbo for housing in a number of European cities on a number of occasions, and this was one of our very best experiences. The apartment was extremely comfortable, the owners were wonderful to work with, and the location is just fantastic. Not only close to the historic center, but between the Joker, the Kulminator, and the Berlin bar/resto, you have several great nights out within just steps of the front door!

  We stayed in this lovely apartment for 4 weeks in the Winter and enjoyed the owner's impeccable taste and exquisite professionalism. The apartment is in an older building, but it has been rehabbed to perfection. It's clean and bright and modern, the perfect, centrally located spot from which to enjoy Antwerp... or to be holed up inside when it's raining (all the time!). Sometimes, one fears the worst on this kind of site: Do not hesitate to rent from this owner, who is trustworthy and ethical. In all honesty, I thought her photos didn't do the place justice: the apartment exceeded my expectations.

  My daughter and I have stayed on this superb adress. I will recommend this to everybody. The apartment was nice, clean and very good located for shopping, visiting musea and restaurants or a trip on the river.
