Portovenere cottage description
This beautiful cottage is nested on the hills that mark the borders between Liguria and Tuscany.
The name of this territory is Lunigiana: a magic land where the Ligurian sea meets Tuscany, a land famous for its castles, its old traditions and for good food .
Thanks to its position, guests staying at Travers' Nest would admire memorable sunrises and red sunsets on the Poets' Gulf ,while enjoying a morning coffee or swiping a glass of local wine.
The guests at their arrival will be welcomed by a buffet dinner, made of fresh organic food, with typical products locally made, to taste from the very beginning of their journey the flavors and fragrances of the territory.
In this property it is also available on request the service of baby sitting.
Travellers' Nest is a two floor isolated buidling, surrounded by nature.
On the ground floor we have the master bedroom with private bathroom with bathtube ensuite , and a twin bedroom with private bathroom. On this floor guests can also relax in the jacuzzi bathtube 's room, a little spa conceived for memorable resting times.
On the first floor there is the living room with sofa , television and dock station. Near the living room we have the fully equipped kitchen and a confortable dining room, big enough to host 10 people .
A peculiarity of the first floor is a glass sliding door , throughout which guests will step into a cosy junior suite , with a double bed and private bathroom with shower .
From the main entrance there is the direct access to the garden where an elegant relax area with pergola, chairs, and sunbeds is perfect the ambience to accomodate guests in every moment of the day. Swimming in the heated swimming pool is a lovely way to complete a rich and satisfactory dayout.
Travellers' nest belongs to the ancient territory of Lunigiana.
Lunigiana is rich of millennial traces of history, admirable in the churches and castles of the many villages of the area. Podenzana is one of this typical medieval hamlet, where turists can breath history everywhere, from the castle to the the sanctuary of Madonna delle Nevi, called 'del Gaggio'.
The village, which can be reached by car in 2 minutes from the villa, is also famous for its important gastronomic tradition, and particularly for the well-known 'panigacci', a kind of bread without yeast cooked in plates of terracotta in the wood-oven and eaten together with cold cuts of the territory.
From the property guests can also reach in about 5 minutes by car the city of Aulla, offering all necessary amenities and services, and where everyday a train leaves to Monterosso, with a journey of about half an hour, to spend an unforgettable dayout discovering the splendour of Cinque Terre Area.

I stay with my family and some friends from Dubai for 2 weeks in September in Villa Argia in Portovenere. We decide to book there thanks to a friend that visit 5 Terre last year. Alessia, owner of Italianrivieravillas, after a quick interview suggest us to book this Villa, and she was right. Staying in the Villa itself was just like living like 'Millionaires'! We were expecting it to be lovely, as we had seen the photos but it well exceeded our expectations. On arrrival we were totally overjoyed to have a welcome 'food basket' too! I must thanks her and his staff expecially Vittorio a real fisherman that teach me how to fish and what fish to eat, Rossella, she says she cooked for some Holliwood'stars!!! for the amazing cooking classes and dinner we had and Fabio for the sailing boat tour (great for my kids). The villa is speachless with a swimming pool that uses the sea water (my kids are now frogs!!) and with a great view of the Gulf. A special thanks to Alessia that she helped us to find where to go and what to visit, we discover so many unspotted places we did not expect to see this year . They provide us with a guest book with all the best trips that unfortunatly only on the last few days we stricktly follow..It was a great mistake as it is like a Bibble for travellers and despite we speack italian (we believe we could find nice trips by our own) it is full of great information, expecially for the day tours and activities to do, that not even the local turist office knows. If you would like a peaceful and restful holiday with stunning scenery then this is the place to go.
