Enjoy the beauty and privacy of your own shaded, tropical patio or walk one block to Kailua Beach Park with its lawns, trees, and three-mile, white-sand beach. It is an easy walk to Lanikai Beach which Conde Nast Magazine has called the number one beach in America.
We are tucked away on a private lane on the windward side of Oahu about 30 minutes from the Honolulu Airport. This newly renovated apartment is part of our home, but is completely private. It has a separate, gated entrance featuring a private patio with a table and four chairs. The patio is landscaped with the tropical plants; hibiscus, heliconia and jasmine.
This convenient, comfortable, one-bedroom apartment has wireless Internet access, a king-size bed in the bedroom and a double-size futon sofa/bed in the living room. The kitchenette has everything you need to prepare your own meals or you can walk to nearby restaurants. The bathroom has a shower, tile floor, a full length mirror and lots of fluffy towels. The Haven has its own washer and dryer so you can pack light for your visit to Oahu's best beach community.
Please no smoking on premises.

Too bad we are limited to only 5 stars. The accommodations were perfect for our family of 3. The owners have provided all the little things that make a vacation work. There were all the tourist guides you could want including one that was written by a local that highlighted things to do that are not in other guides. The owners also provided helpful information to make our stay more enjoyable. The stockpile of available snorkling gear, boogie boards, cooler, and beach chairs was great. We did not have to find some of these items on the island and then figure out how to get them back home. Kailua and Laniki Beaches were very close and absolutely stunning. We highly recommend this property if you are looking to escape the congestion of Honolulu and stay on the quieter side of the island.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay here in paradise. The unit was clean, cool, quiet and well stocked. The location was close to everything - we walked to Kailua Beach, Buzz's for a wonderful meal and downtown for dinner. We were happily surprised to have use of all the beach gear we needed for our adventures (snorkels, fins, masks, boogie board, cooler, beach chairs and mats). Jim and Nina were terrific hosts - giving us tips on what to do and restaurant suggestions. I will recommend them to all of our friends and family. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We love Kailua too! Walking to Buzz's for lunch is one of our favorite things to do - it's a lovely short walk - through the beachpark! Downtown Kailua - with tons of good restaurants - is over a mile away so we usually drive. We keep a random supply of snorkel gear - we cannot guarantee that it will fit you but it works for most people. Aloha, Jim and Nina

Our hosts, Jim and Nina were charming and very helpful. The apartment was simple and very clean, with everything you would need for a stay in paradise. They were especially respectful of our privacy, yet available for any queries about the apartment and the neighborhood. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. A short stroll to a beautiful beach, in all, a real gem!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Staying here was above and beyond what we could have expected. Everything is exactly like the pictures. The rental is the lower front part of Jim and Nina's home, there is another rental at the back of the house as well. The outdoor patio area is perfect to sit and read in the morning or evening. Kailua beach is just down the hill from the rental and Lanikai beach is about a 10 minute walk. Jim and Nina have boogie boards, beach chairs, and snorkels in the rental to accommodate all your beach needs. There is a wonderful little hike called the "pillboxes" in Lanikai that you can walk to straight from the rental, it gives overlooking views of the ocean, Lanikai, and Kailua. We didn't have a rental car but central Kailua is about a 25-30 minute walk, although sidewalks are not convenient in parts. But as long as you don't mind walking it is pretty easy, we went into town almost every night for dinner. We also grilled out at the rental one night for a change of pace. Jim and Nina are so accommodating, it felt like staying with family. We were moving from Kailua to Honolulu on Saturday but wouldn't be able to check into our next hotel til 3 PM, so Nina allowed us to stay in the rental most of Saturday because her next guests were arriving late in the evening. We had talked to Jim several times when he was working around the house and had asked him if there were any other hikes that were walking distance. There weren't any other hikes walking distance, but on Saturday he offered to take us on a hike off the Pali Hwy that went to one of the many waterfalls in the area. The path was completely unmarked, something we never could have found on our own, and we didn't see another person until we were almost back to the road. It was completely different than any hike we could find in a tourist book that would have been packed with other people. Basically I couldn't imagine finding a better rental for our needs in the Kailua area. Thanks so much Jim and Nina!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

My niece ( 11 years old) and I had a lovely time on O'ahu - and Jim and Nina's Blue Water Haven was the perfect place to stay! We found the turtles and snorkeled each morning in the water off Kailua Beach. From Blue Water Haven we explored the Windward side of the island, drove up to the North Shore to watch the sunset, took surfing lessons in Waikiki, and on our last day sat at the 'President's Table" at Buzz's - just across the street from Kailua Beach Park. The accommodations were very comfortable. I especially enjoyed having the washing machine, snorkel gear, beach chairs, and other comforts - all available on the lanai. My niece appreciated the selection of DVDs provided! It was a perfect place from which to explore O'ahu. Thank you for sharing beautiful Kailua with us!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Water Haven. It was the perfect location and size for the three of us. My son loved meeting the cat (ask Jim to show you his tricks) and had a great time at Kailua Beach. I really enjoyed the morning walks to both Kailua and Lanikai Beaches for the amazing sunrises. The beach toys worked out great - boogie boards were a big hit. The kitchen could probably use another hot plate, but otherwise, our stay was fantastic. We've stayed in Kailua before, and will definitely do so again - there's no better beach on Oahu. If you have a small group (2 adults and a child), I highly recommend the Blue Water Haven.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Nina and Jim, Thank you for offering your extended home to us. It had all the amenities one needed for a perfect vacation. The beach gear, chairs, mats, towels (and we added the green inflattable tube to your collection) all came in useful. We enjoyed our days at the beach even more because of it. It helped that you had a washer and dryer and even a clothes line outside your cute patio to dry our swimsuits at the end of the day. We could not have asked for a perfect location. Beaches of Lanikai & Kailua was within walking/driving (as we preferred) distance. The place was tucked nicely inside a private road in a residential area so it was peaceful. The place itself was clean and thoughtfully done. Best of all was the comfort of your bed. I could not get the kids off the bed to go out! It provided us with much needed R&R after a dizzying array of activities from the wedding and several family gatherings we had earlier in the week in Oahu. All together, it has made me long to come back soon. Oahu is definitely in my blood - this 4th trip won't be my last. Thank you Nina and Jim. Owner response: Thanks, Debbie, for your kind words and for the inflatable green tube! Aloha, Nina and Jim

Just got back from a great visit to Kailua. This rental is off the main road so there is no traffic noise but it is really close to Kailua Beach Park. Lanikai Beach is a short walk away also. We loved walking to Buzz's for lunch. We also enjoyed the Thursday night farmer's market in downtown Kailua - lots of fun dinner choices as well as local produce. Blue Water Haven is clean, comfortable and well stocked - plenty of towels. The owners live upstairs so if you are real sensitive to people walking overhead this might not be for you. There's no kids, so it wasn't too bad. They have an adorable friendly cat - Newton. This rental made a great base to drive around and explore the island. We will be back - and stay longer next time -4 nights was not enough!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Just got back from 4 nights at Blue Water Haven. Jim and Nina were very welcoming and gave us great advice on local events and places. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The short walk to Kailua beach made this an ideal location. Lanikai beach is also an easy walk or very short car trip. We were amazed at how much beach stuff was available--beach chairs, masks & snorkels, smash ball set, pails and shovels for kids, etc. There's really no need to bring anything other than sunscreen and swim suits. The Thur. evening farmer's market was so perfect our first night--wonder selection of to-go dinners and all kinds of local fruits and veggies. Thanks, Nina! After we left here we spent 3 nights at a big hotel in Waikiki and were so thankful for the peaceful time spent in Kailua. Mahalo!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
