Lying alongside a fabulous three-mile stretch of protected beach, Kailua is a small town on the windward side of Oahu. Kailua Beach is routinely voted one of the best beaches in the world and, with no hotels in town, only local residents and visitors who rent vacation homes get to enjoy our island lifestyle. Your family will love this kama'aina (local) way to enjoy Hawaii.
Our three bedroom, two bath home has a king, queen and two twin beds (sleeps six), living room, well-appointed open kitchen, large enclosed lanai, and shaded patio with Weber gas grill and outdoor furniture. Our smoke-free home is furnished in island style to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. You’ll feel right at home while you barbecue dinner on the patio, relax in the screened-in lanai, wander to and from the beach, watch movies or cable TV, or drift off to sleep on the comfortable beds. We also have wireless internet access for your laptop computer so that you can stay connected! For your convenience, we provide an initial supply of paper and soap products.
And best of all is our location - just a short walk from Kailua Beach. You can pick up your cappuccino at the Kalapawai Market every morning and your shave ice (snow cone) at Island Snow every afternoon. Whether you rent windsurfers or kayaks or just use all the beach toys that come with the house - boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs/mats/towels and cooler - walking to the beach makes the days seem long and leisurely and just right for that relaxing vacation you're looking for.
And when you get tired of beach activities, Kailua town, with its restaurants, shopping and entertainment is less than a mile away. Or, after just a short ride, you can swim with the dolphins at Sea Life Park, snorkel in Hanauma Bay, hike the stunning Ko’olau mountains, swim/surf the North Shore, browse the 'Swap Meet' at the Aloha Stadium, sample Honolulu’s nightlife, walk Waikiki Beach or get to the airport.
Located on a large lot with a separate, one-bedroom, one-bath detached cottage (VRBO #55009), the house is available to rent separately or together with the house for larger groups. Monthly rate also available.

My husband and I have had this property for about 25 years. Since my husband's family lived in Kailua for many years during his high school years, he had many fond memories of the island and we wanted to be able to bring our own family back to Kailua and create our own family memories. About 8 years ago, we decided to open our home to other families who have been able to enjoy many happy days here. We hope that you find our place as comfortable for your family as we do for ours!

What makes this House unique
Being located right near Kailua Beach means that you can go back and forth to the beach all day without loading and unloading everything into and out of the car. I love being able to pick up my latte at the Kalapawai Market before my beach stroll, and we have a family ritual of shave ice every afternoon from Island Snow (President Obama's favorite before-dinner snack with his kids!)

Lovely home in a great location within minutes from a glorious Hawaiian beach
This is an excellent rental in paradise! The location is perfect— in Kailua, a sleepy town away from the hustle of Honolulu and Waikiki and around the corner from a beautiful white sand beach. Although Kailua is over the hills from Honolulu, the many sites of Oahu are easily reached with a car — we visited nearly every brewpub on the island after a day of hiking and snorkeling. The house has three bedrooms, two baths and a comfortable living room and dining area. We were three couples and were very comfortable. The house has everything you need to enjoy your stay — from plenty of beach towels and chairs, to strong wifi, to a well-equipped kitchen. The house is spacious, comfortable and clean and we appreciated the tasteful furnishings. There is a nice outdoor area for relaxing, BBQing and sharing a meal. It’s a perfect spot for families and groups. Kailua Beach itself is stunning and great for families with children because the waves here are small and the beach is very clean. There’s both a shave ice and a kayak rental around the corner and the famous Kalawapai Market is on the corner — many mornings we grabbed a latte and strolled over to walk on the beach.
The communication with the owner was excellent and we had no problems. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay wonderful and carefree.
I highly recommend this lovely home for anyone looking for a relaxing, tropical vacation in Hawaii.
Very nice house. Everything in the house works and functional and very well maintained in and out. Loved having the market next store, the beach walk loop and the fact that we could walk to the center of Kailua to shop and eat. Property manager Debra is great to work with
Comfortable house, great location so close to amazing beach!
The house was even better than advertised. The location is amazing. It's basically around the corner from an amazing nearly 3 mile beach. The beach itself is very popular but it's so big, there's plenty of room. It's on the windy side of the island so great for body surfing, boogie boarding, playing in the water, watching the kite/wind surfers. Not as good for snorkeling but there's a preserve about 30 minutes away that has amazing snorkeling. Kailua is close enough to Waikiki (30 minutes away) but feels so much different. It's a laid back, homey town.
The house has everything you might want including beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc... that you can easily take around the corner to the awesome beach. The house has a lovely yard with a covered patio which is a wonderful area to sit, relax and enjoy the island breeze. There are plenty of fans and a/c in 2 bedrooms. It was hot when we were there so would have liked a little more a/c but there's plenty of nature's a/c just outside on that awesome lanai. It's right on the main street, so there's some car noise but it's quieter at night and mostly white noise. Also, on that fab lanai, you don't hear much at all.
Loved the little touches: well stocked kitchen equipment, CD player that had bluetooth input so we could listen to music, HDMI cable to attach your own device to TV (we streamed the warriors games with no problem). Wifi worked well throughout house.
The owner was great to work with and quickly responded to any questions we had. Highly recommend this house and Kailua! We'll be back for sure...
A wonderful stay
We absolutely loved staying in this property. The location is amazing and the home is incredibly well stocked with everything you could need. We made use of the beach chairs, umbrellas and body boards, we ate outside under the lanai and enjoyed the garden. This home was perfect for our family vacation, we loved the space and would highly recommend this property.
Escaping the worst rains in ten years in No. Calif, we lucky three ladies of a certain age, reclaimed our spots in this delightful beach house. We return every year or so because it is the perfect place to stay: a very clean and well appointed , comfortable home with a Hawaiian feeling .The location is just perfect: a short walk to the most amazing beach, a great little local market just steps away, the expansive beach park right there and the town with decent restaurants close by.
The owner and property manager are very responsive and aim to please.
We are already planning to return in 2018!
Great house, perfect location
We stayed at this house for almost 2 weeks, and we loved it! The house was very clean, and so conveniently located: Supermarket nearby, and of course, the beach (a treat for our twins). We had great interactions with Debra, the property manager, who always promptly responded when we had questions. We would absolutely recommend this property to our friends.
