House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
My husband and I have had this property for about 25 years. Since my husband's family lived in Kailua for many years during his high school years, he had many fond memories of the island and we wanted to be able to bring our own family back to Kailua and create our own family memories. About 8 years ago, we decided to open our home to other families who have been able to enjoy many happy days here. We hope that you find our place as comfortable for your family as we do for ours!

What makes this House unique
Being located right near Kailua Beach means that you can go back and forth to the beach all day without loading and unloading everything into and out of the car. I love being able to pick up my latte at the Kalapawai Market before my beach stroll, and we have a family ritual of shave ice every afternoon from Island Snow (President Obama's favorite before-dinner snack with his kids!)

This is wonderful home for a Hawaiian getaway. It was perfect for our family of 4. Short walk to the beach and market next door. It’s cozy and spacious at the same time. We would love to stay here again on our next trip.
Unforgettable Hawaiian Vacation
Thank you for providing such a charming home. It was a perfect place for our group of 5. It was spacious, clean, safe, and equipped with so much extra... rice cookers, lots of utensils & cookware, drink flasks to fill up for the day’s trip, towels, cooler, beach chairs and toys which were fantastic additions (much more than other rentals we’ve experienced).
The lanai offers more room to spread out. Lots of windows allow in natural light and the fabulous island breeze although two bedrooms do have AC, if you like. Great bonus w/a washer & dryer! Lisa is so nice and very easy to work with as well as our on-island contact who gave good local tips. The welcome basket full of goodies was the cherry on top (btw, my mother-in-law never had papaya til she tasted it from the basket and fell in love w/the fruit).
The house is on a main road so traffic is expected but it’s not like a highway, at all. Just reverse into the driveway to make it easier to get out and spot pedestrians (lots of folks walk & jog in that area). Kailua is a bustling town with terrific hikes, stunning scenery, and great eateries so it draws people. Cinnamon’s has some guava chiffon pancakes that are outta this world! Boots & Kimo’s pancakes w/homemade macadamia nut sauce is worth the wait there.
As a mainland transplant, it was like re-discovering the windward side of the island:) We enjoyed the gorgeous sunrises at Kailua Beach (very popular spot for professional photos - there were 4 photo shoots at 7 am).
My in-laws enjoyed meals in the very well-kept & roomy backyard and loved walking to the market on the corner. We were celebrating a UH college graduation along w/my in-laws’ 49th Wedding Anniversary. It helped make this first-time visit to Hawaii a hugely memorable one for my mother-in-law. Mahalo nui loa for sharing your hale!
A hui hou!
Perfect stay in Kailua
We stayed here for a week and loved its location. Beautiful yard and very clean house. Had everything we needed. Short walk every morning to Kalapawai market for coffee in the morning and onto the beach to see the sunrise. Amazing beach and just the best place we've ever stayed on Oahu. The owners and property manager were wonderful, thank you so much!
This is a great place! We loved our stay!
Nice, private, beautiful place.
Property very clean. Debra great to work with. House very spacious. Well stocked kitchen and towe
Negative was the weather. Half of month was cold, rainy, windy . Very negative is road noise , very loud traffic. Beach is close and beautiful. Fun to watch kite surfers.
Mahalo for taking the time to write a review. I especially appreciate your comments about Debra, the property manager, as she works hard to make sure guests are well taken care of. As for the negative review on the weather, not much I can do about that! As for the road noise, not much I can do about that either except to say that we have a lava rock wall in front that helps to cut down on the noise and that everyone needs to evaluate for themselves as to how sensitive they are to road sounds. I'm here in the house myself now for a few weeks and it truly doesn't bother me.
Great place steps from Kailua beach
Comfortable for a family, close to Kailua beach and Kalapawai Market for an early morning cappuccino before a walk on the beach.
