We've lived on and off in Sarasota for approximately 20 years and love the area. We purchased these historically significant buildings in 2016 and have lovingly restored them so that Sarasotans and other visitors can enjoy them, too!
Kim purchased this Hotel in 2016
Why Kim chose North Trail
This property is a landmark property, steeped in Sarasota's rich art and cultural heritage. This property was part of circus magnate Charles Ringling's estate before his Mansion was built. John Ringling, his brother and the head of the circus, also stayed here. At various times, it was a boarding house and a circus performance venue. Today, it is a redeveloped gorgeous property with three buildings on a single parcel joined by a beautiful outdoor courtyard. It is across the street from the Sarasota Bay and just minutes to Downtown, and both Lido Key and Siesta Key beaches!
What makes this Hotel unique
You'll be steps away from a distinctive coffee and tea house, with a bookstore. There you can also enjoy wines, craft beers, and light bites. Check out This is the website for the entire property. We are deeply committed to our guests and customers.

This place was amazing, everyone we encountered was super helpful. The property itself was beautiful and absolutely perfect for us! Will definitely stay there again.
Clean and neat
Very clean and nice. Just a short drive away from everything i needed.
Wonderfully beautiful people.
Updated utility close to everything we needed. Our dog, Barnaby thanks you. We do as well.
Really great place!
We enjoyed our stay, the room was really cute comfortable!
This small sized apartment with a kitchen, queen bed (which is very comfortable), large screen TV, loveseat, upholstered chair, etc. is as lovely as it looks. Our stay met all our expectations. The coffee shop and beer/wine shops next door provided easy access to delicious refreshment, and when warm enough, an opportunity to relax on the patio between the two buildings. Jess, Kim and their staff could not have been more helpful and when I arrived with an injured elbow Laurie took expert care of me. A park across the street has sidewalks that lead to the bay about a block away. The mile walk to the downtown worked well for us. This location is easily accessible to everything. Be sure and order a meat/cheese tray from the beer/wine shop, go to First Watch for breakfast and Owen's Fish Camp for dinner! We loved our time in Sarasota at the Reserve!
We had a great time staying here. All of the staff (including the owners) are amazing and go out of your way to make your stay a memorable one. The rooms are very spacious and clean and have all the amenities you need for a long visit. My one comment is that the stairs are very steep to the upstairs units so if you have any concerns about that request a lower unit. Thanks guys we will be back!
Located very close to the beaches, across from Sarasota Bay, and close to Downtown Sarasota. Great location for taking advantage of the best that Sarasota has to offer, including cultural activities!
