Cozy Cottage near sandy beach, Rainy Lake, Rainy River and Voyageur's Nat'l Park

This very cozy, quaint cottage WITH GREAT WEEKLY RATES (if you decide to stay longer than 4 days!) has 2+ bedrooms ( one king, one full, pull out in the LR) and sleeps 4-5 comfortable. It has one bath with shower (towels provided), washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed. Living room is spacious with dining area near kitchen, two lazy boys, love seat, large fold out couch. This charming cottage "Feels Like Home". It has Dish TV, window AC, WiFi.
Outdoor area has a brick patio with umbrella furniture, loungers, small fire pit and a fish cleaning table, if needed. A small lettuce garden and some herbs are also on the back patio and available - if in season!! A sandy beach is out the back door - so close - and a public boat ramp is a short distance away! Lots of outdoor parking. Nearby is a Restaurant under new ownership and open 6 days per week (food is great!), the opening of a new Brew Pub was exciting! It also has a lakeside deck with cocktails and occasional music on weekends. A Distillery is new in Ranier and has a great food menu, as well. A cute ice cream shop is also out the back door and a retail shops for t-shire, sweatshirts and gifts! If you want to do your own cooking, grocery and liquor stores are nearby. This entire quaint village is surrounded by water (Rainy Lake and Rainy River ), two public docks and gateway to Voyageur's National Park. Guides can be hired for boat tours, fishing or anything else you would like to experience. You can see the Canadian shoreline which is a stones throw across the water. In fact, bring your passports and take a day trip across the border to Canada which is 2 miles by car. The location of this cottage in this quaint village doesn't get any better. The cottage provides as much privacy as you want. End the day with a beautiful Rainy Lake Sunset! On occasion special sunset celebrations are held at Spruce Street Landing - you guessed it - just out the back door! The cottage is kept extremely clean and all you need to bring is your suitcase and your laptop and personal effects. Area books are provided. If you would like to read some historical newspapers (Rainy Lake Chronicle) published in Ranier in the 70's and 80's, just ask and they can be loaned.

cozy Cottage was absolutely wonderful. The photos don’t even begin to describe how nice it is in reality. The cottage has everything you could need and the location in the center of the quaint town is ideal, literally everything is just outside the door, Super clean and the hostess was fantastic, making sure everything was to our liking.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Communication with the host was absolutely excellent. The cottage had everything we needed. We stay in a lot of VRBO cabins or cottages. One thing that we OFTEN find is the lack of lighting. Part of the problem is that we're older renters; we need more light. Having said that, this cottage was conveniently located and had a lovely back patio for morning coffees and reading. We had a great pub meal at Cantilever, almost across the street. We enjoyed ice cream in the evenings at Tara's, half a block away on the riverfront. I must say that I had the worst taco in my life at Looney's Taco Bar, but perhaps if I'd have chosen a burrito it would have been better. Not sure.If we were to return to the area, we'd chose to stay here again.

Lovely and clean, well -stocked and conveniently located. Very homey feel. Our host Mary Anne was kind and gracious. Beautiful landscaping. Nice little backyard seating area with grill and fire pit. Highly recommended!

It’s a perfect spot for what we needed. We are big hikers, and the property is very close to Voyageur National Park and beautiful state parks.The property itself has a very traditional, vintage cabin feel about it. I’m a stickler for a clean place and clean bedding. Both very satisfactorily met my expectations.Mary Ann is lovely and also helpful and responsive. I highly recommend this property!

Cozy Cottage was clean and beds were comfortable, but the property is worn looking and dark/dingy feeling. Also, it is only one block away from the train tracks and trains run through the town approximately once an hour. Had to keep the windows closed at night because of the noise. We would not stay there again. It is very convenient to visiting Voyageurs National Park.

Absolutely fantastic

Absolutely fantastic property. Stayed here for a wedding, Mary Ann is extremely accommodating and all around a lovely person. The cottage is warm, welcoming, CLEAN and is perfectly located. I can’t say enough about my stay here

Perfect Cottage for our Family

Great location in Ranier and within 1 block or less walking to the beach and restaurants. Very clean and comfortable! We had some rain too, so being able to login to Netflix on the smart tv was a bonus. Thanks!

Fishing getaway

Mary Ann met us with keys, a tour of her English cottage and a brief history of the town of Ranier. Her cottage location was easy to find, within walking distance to Ranier, had a driveway with electrical hookup for overnight parking our boat while we parked our vehicle on the street in front of the driveway. The ramp to put our boat in to Rainy Lake was one block away. We enjoyed grilling meals and sitting by the fire pit in the backyard. Thanks to Mary Ann and her husband, they were instrumental with making our stay a very relaxing visit.

Clean, comfortable and cozy. A great vacation!

My stay was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. The cottage is equipped with everything I needed. Owners on hand and checked in to make sure I was comfortable. Very friendly little town as well. I'll be back!
