Guestbook comments from the owner

Leaving this "Little Bit O Heaven" with a feeling of peacefulness. The serenity here is a thousand fold. We have walked amd talked and reminisced,... filled our tummies with good food..inhaled our surroundings-- rejoiced in the beauty and the quiet. Afraid we must return because it felt so good.

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

When we initially read about the cabin being located on a trail, we pictured a small, rarely-used trail that perhaps ran behind the property. We were delighted to find that the cabin was located right on a gorgeous, wide, popular trail (with humans and dogs alike) yet without other houses around it. We, and our dogs loved our walks up the trail and couldn't believe that everywhere we wanted to go was a maximum of 10 minutes-ish away in either direction on the main road through town. That made planning multiple activities, dinners, etc. a breeze while still looking in on our pups. The ski slopes were literally 7 minutes away which is unheard of yet the cabin itself is an oasis of quiet. This was our first time in Steamboat and found the dining, brew pub, wine, shopping and more to be top notch - a perfect balance between the pretention, or on the other hand, downscale schlock that can plague ski towns. The cabin itself was cozy, with a well-appointed and spacious kitchen and comfortable queen bed upstairs. The laundry room was a mega-bonus - not only a full-sized washer and dryer but also extra space to "stage" and/or hang clothing, gear, etc. We also loved the desk and rippin' Wi-fi as both of us had to check in with work throughout the week. The only rub was the bathroom being located on the first floor (and sleeping quarters upstairs), and a bit more furniture than we needed as a couple, but all of it worked. As lovely as the cabin and property were in winter, we can only imagine how gorgeous it is in other seasons. We plan on finding out through repeat visits!

Amazing Steamboat cabin with a remote feeling but close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed absolutely everything about our stay at the Spring Creek Cabin. Booking the cabin and the communication with Stephanie, the owner, addressed all the things we needed know about enjoying our stay at the cabin. It is very obvious that the cabin has been well maintained and has had lots of love put into it. Our family of 4 and our dog had more than enough room to stretch out be comfortable and enjoy our stay. The cabin is very well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen, bath, and for entertainment. We especially enjoyed the wood burning fireplace on the very cold days during our stay. The location of the cabin is great, with direct access to trails, close to downtown, and a great remote feeling along the creek. Our 5 year old daughter has been asking when we can go back and we are hoping to book another stay soon. Thanks, Stephanie, for sharing your wonderful cabin with us! We can't wait till we can return.

Fond memories for our collection

  • 5 of 5

"When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever, but I shall hold something which I have traded for it. It may be no more than a memory, but if it is a worthy one I shall not regret the price".

The cabin was ideal for us as a no-frills couple with 2 dogs. We enjoyed daily walks out the front door, both westward into town and along Yampa River, and east up Spring Creek Trail. We cooked all our meals in the well-stocked kitchen, enjoyed toasty warm fires in the woodstove, and slept well in the absolutely silent forest surroundings covered in a foot of snow. We skied one day at Steamboat, enjoyed a daytime soak at Strawberry Park, and skied at the spur of the moment at Howelsen Hill when we saw it was "Ski Free Sunday"! We loved the opportunity to wind down and live a bit like a local if just for a few days. A great time, extremely picturesque surroundings, and vivid memories make this getaway priceless.

Thank you Stephanie for booking to us for a 4-night getaway over the New Year. You could not have been more polite, caring, and communicative, and you ensured out trip experience was a positive one. We are so grateful and thank you for your hospitality and kindness. I hope we get to return, maybe to experience the cabin and Steamboat in the summer. Take care and Happy New Year.
