Great time at The Big White Villa (TBWV).

My family of 10 adults had an amazing time at TBWV in May. Overall, we had great time and enjoyed our stay, though there were some minor cons. The spacious villa was more than enough room for all 10 us to relax comfortably and the pool was a one of the main highlights of our stay on a daily basis. Not enough pool/beach towels for 10 people though – please add more larger groups. The view of the ocean and countryside is beautiful and soothing with tea and coffee on the overlooking balcony. However, access to beach was close by but challenging (not accessible for our elderly seniors that were with us) with the steep steps and a rocky beach side (inundated smooth stones). Be sure to wear footwear. The bedrooms were large with individual A/C units and their own en-suite bathrooms, except for the 2 bedrooms on the ground floor that shared a bathroom – no big deal. The two large living room/ meeting areas upstairs and downstairs provided enough room for us spread out and chat but without A/C so was a bit warm with even with doors and windows opened and overheads fans. Chef Kevin, whose dishes were delicious, and Housekeeper Tanisha, were both amazing and good company. This is a great property with plenty of room and beautiful views but just needs a bit of upgrading and TLC on the furniture, the dishwasher, and fans.

I LOVE THE PROPERTY AND LOCATION...BUT SOME THINGS IN HOUSE ARE OUTDATED AND NEEDS UPGRADING SHOWER

THEIR ARE SMALL BUGS THAT LIVE IN HOUSE AND BE ON EVERYTHING I GOT ATE UP FROM TIME I CAME. THE BUGS BE ON COUNTER TOPS AND FURNITURE YOU CAN'T SEE THEM WITH NAKED EYE THEY ARE SO SMALL.YOU CANT SIT YOUR PLATE DOWN THEY WILL ATTACK IT❗️❗️ NEEDS EXTERMINATOR THATS WHY ILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN...TOO MANY BUGS

Our stay at the big white villa

Overall the big white villa was a nice stay I just think everything such as the furniture is outdated.... we had to pay $45.00 because a leg just fell completely off of the chair... no wrong moves my friend just sat down and the leg came off... the housekeeper, cook and Erroyl the chauffeur were great people that helped us well....

Great Villa with Amazing Staff

The Big White Villa was the perfect size for our group of 12 and offered plenty of space for everyone. The house manager, Aretha, along with the grounds keeper, Sam, met us upon arrival and were very friendly and welcoming. All of the rooms offer an A.C. Unit however the unit in the master bedroom did not work. Luckily, there was a nice breeze the majority of the nights so between that and a couple fans we were able to sleep comfortably. The hot water heater was also an issue. Everyone got about 5min of hot water for a shower before it turned cold no matter how much we tried to stagger shower times. Again, we made it work but when paying so much for a vacation, I didn’t expect to be taking cold showers. I can’t say enough about Kevin, the chef, he was amazing! We asked him to make traditional Jamaican meals and he did not disappoint. Errol and Errol chauffeured us around and were very resourceful when when planning activities and answering any questions we had about the island. It was truely a pleasure getting to know them. Taneisha , the housekeeper, was so sweet and attentive during our stay. The beach is just a short walk away however it is very Rocky as the pictures show. There is an amazing little restaurant called “Sugarpot Ruins” about a 10 min walk down the beach that offers an absolutely beautiful beach though. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful staff! Enormous amounts of room!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Big White Villa. Kevin was a wonderful chef. Sam & Leticia were so warm and helpful. The rooms were large and gave us all enough room to relax. I would recommend this rental to anyone.

Beautiful home at a great location would become perfect with some maintenance and cleaning

We had a great vacation in Jamaica. It’s a lovely place. The people are friendly and helpful. The drive down from Montego Bay to the Big White Villa was smooth. Our ride was through Travel Jamaica Tours and Errol Bowen who drove us down entertained us and kept us laughing all the way. He is awesome. He and Errol Williams did all our chauffeuring during our stay. They were a pleasure to work with. The staff at the Big White Villa were friendly and resourceful. The property manager worked with us to prestock food and supplies before our arrival. She was present along with the staff when we arrived. We love Kevin, our Chef! He whipped up delicious meals and accommodated our preferences and diet restrictions cheerfully. He went out of his way to help with other needs in the house as well. A shout out to Sam as well. He was a quiet gentle presence who unfailingly stepped up as needed. The house itself is a spacious and airy place that easily accommodated our group of 14. The location is beautiful. The landscaping is lush and tropical. We enjoyed the pool. The sights and sounds of the ocean are close by. The neighborhood is quiet and secure. All our excursions and shopping or dining trips were a short drive away. A little more attention to maintenance and housekeeping would make the Big White Villa near perfect. But for them the small annoyances would have been absent. As such it falls short of the ‘luxury’ tag. Nevertheless all in all we enjoyed our Jamaica experience. The food. The sights. And most of all the friendly folk!!

Great location, beautiful view, friendly staff ... a little dated, and some maintenance issues

We had some difficulty finding the Villa, the address provided did not appear on Google map, the property is marketed as Ocho Rios (which is largely in St. Ann) but it is actually located just outside of Ocho Rios in St. Mary. My other guests had similar experiences with finding the Villa. The actual accommodations were adequate, we had 5 bedrooms in the main house and 2 bedrooms accessible from outside by the pool area. They were good size rooms with enough amenities to be comfortable. We met the maintenance person, the house keeper, private chef and manager on the first day. Everyone was friendly and happy to assist in making our vacation enjoyable. The view from the upstairs balcony was amazing. The beach (while quite stony and challenging to access via a steep stair) was generally okay. The property is not air-conditioned in the common areas, each bedroom has an air-condition unit, however, we had to keep the doors open to maintain a reasonable temperature in the living room, kitchen, and upstairs lounge areas. Having the doors open also meant mosquitoes which were a bit annoying. There were a few maintenance issues (refrigerator beeped 24 hrs per day because the Freezer did not work, blinds in master bath were broken and could not close, door on shower was broken etc. etc.) but nothing that was a fatal flaw. The chef did an amazing job and cooked some really delicious local meals for us, however, I think the house cleaning had a bit to be desired and the dust did a number on my sinuses. The Villa is also located near a public park area and there was loud music which played every night during our four night stay. Honestly, we had a good time in Jamaica, we visited Dunn's river falls, the town in Ocho Rios, enjoyed local fruits, and other amenities. The Villa met our needs for somewhere to sleep (as we were out for most of the days) however, I wouldn't describe it as "luxurious". We had a group of 12, there was ample space for everyone and no one really complained. It is a great villa in a great location, it just needs a few tweaks in the maintenance area and I would give it at least 4 stars.

Perfect place to stay

We loved the big white villa. We were 12 people. 6 couples. The villa was very spacious and comfortable. Great for a big group. The staff was amazing. Kevin the chef cooked the most incredible meals. The location was great for experiencing the north side of the island. Rocky but very quiet and somewhat private beach a short walk down some steps. If you have more than 6 couples it might get too crowded as two of the seven bedrooms share a bathroom. The upper balcony with sea views is an amazing spot to have breakfast and all hang out.

Amazing house with a great staff!!

We were a family of 13 from 18 yrs till 60 yrs and we ha an awesome time at the big white villa in Ocho Rios. We found the perfect beach, just 10 min walk from the house, Sugar Point Ruins. On the way there is also a very nice bar and good place for a lunch or just to enjoy a drink in really Jamaican style. Relaxed an no stress!! We also enjoyed lazy mornings at the pool and late nights in the outdoor jacuzzi. Thanks to the great staff at the big white villa and our driver, Errol Williams😊 We will be back😎

Amazing Christmas at The Villa.

We had an amazing week stay at The Big White Villa with family and friends. It was the best Christmas holiday away from home! The luxurious and tranquil villa was festively decorated and provided something for everyone: young, seasoned and all ages in between. The modern facilities, wireless internet, Wii gaming system, pool, Jacuzzi, and cable television were all wonderful amenities enjoyed at our home away from home. The Villa offers spectacular seaviews from many vantage points. The gazebo and patios and well manicured garden enhanced our relaxation. Our accommodation in the apartment nearest the pool was the best! We had our own cooktop, refrigerator, dutch oven, cable television, private bathroom and comfortable king size bed. We could spend time with the family and yet still enjoy our privacy. With its location in a secured gated community across the street from the Rio Nuevo Battle site Memorial Park and just 10 minutes from Ocho Rios, we were able to enjoy the privacy of our family gathering and the activities that make Ocho Rios world reknown…the World Famous Dunn’s River Falls . As a family, we had the best times snorkeling and sailing on the Cool Runnings Catamaran. The Staff at the villa were quite welcoming and helped to make our vacation a memorable one. Thanks to Dal and Cynthia for sharing their beautiful Villa with others along with a little bit of Jamaican history. Oh the memories we will have for years to come. We look forward to visiting again soon. Yeah Mon!

A fantastic villa

Beautiful villa in a fantastic location.The villa has lots of space so can easily accommodate large groups of people without feeling like you are on top of each other!! The villa boasts an impressive 6 bathrooms and a separate loo! The villa is set in its own grounds with a beautiful view of the sea. The local shops are minutes away with easy access to the main strip where you can access more shops, bars, restaurants and the famous Turtle beach. The grounds are stunning with a pool perfect for lounging and sunbathing in the day and relaxing with a glass of wine at night! We had a fantastic time and will definitely be going back soon.

The minute i walked through the door i felt at home, the feeling of love, tranquility, warmth, the smell of a clean and homely environment. We arrived at the villa around 22:00 and wandered about until the early hours of the morning, just couldn't believe what we were seeing. The biggest shock came when we finally woke up at around 11:00am the following morning, the kids were running from one patio to another yelling for me to come and have a look. It was unbelievable. Almost everywhere we were in that villa we could see the ocean by day and hear the sound of the waves by night. The entertaiments came in form of games and the large plasma tv screens throughout the villa, the large well kept swimming pool, the jacuzzi and the hot tub - PARADISE within the gates of The Big White Villa. The facilities were great, everything needed to make a perfect home. I would say the photographs under-estimates what the place really look and feels like. Was it worth the money? every single penny. I want to take the opportunity to thank Derrick for his courteousness - very quiet and pleasant. Deon you are very good company. Thanks to Cynthia for thinking about others when building this villa; and to anyone who wants a genuine holiday accommodation in the carribbean where you feel at home! think The Big White Villa. We've already made plans for next year.

Parkview Villa a great place to stay

This is a note to thank you, on behalf of myself and my 10.5 family members for our recent stay at Parkview. We had a very good time and were delighted with the elegant premium accommodation at the villa. We can only commend you on the tasteful settings and decor which really made us feel that we were staying somewhere really special. Several family members also visited the villa during our stay and were suitable impressed by 'the mansion'. The villa and its fabulous location was really picture perfect and I did have to pinch myself on several mornings to believe what I was seeing and feeling. I do hope that we will be able to stay again in the not too distant future! Your housekeeper Ann-Marie is a lovely companion and was really helpful to us, Ernest (our driver) was also a genuine blessing and it was a pleasure to deal with him at all times. Duwayne and Derrick felt like having good family around and we were genuinely sad and missed them when we were leaving. We enjoyed taking full advantage of the modern facilities, the Wii sport games, the pool and jacuzzi and the stroll down to the beach. It was a great two weeks. We have already recommended your luxury hideaway to others.

An amazing 2 week break

After a ten hour flight from the UK the Big White Villa was the perfect place for my getaway. The villa was very easy to find, it was in a beautiful setting, and perfect for relaxation. I occupied the guest suite which had everything for my convenience. The property was clean and wll maintained. The service was fantastic, the staff made you feel welcomed, and the food excellent (yum, yum) The journey into Ocho Rios is very easy as there are numerous taxis and busses into the town. I was aware that there were attractions and restaurants nearby, but I was happy just having lazy days beside the pool, jacuzzi and leasurly walks down to the beach which is only two or three minutes walk away. I would defenitely recommend this property to a friend. I came back to the UK totally refreshed, and can't wait for the next trip.

My family moved to St. Mary over 50 years ago and I wanted to find a special place to retire close to my family memories. The Rio Nuevo Battle site is soaked in history and beauty, whilst giving breath taking views from my home.

We can lock off two of the bedrooms in the main part of the house leaving 3 bedrooms

The view of the River and sea are breath taking.

As the villa is located within a secured gated community it is very peaceful which can be a sanctuary after visiting the live spots of the island.
