Great stay in Ludlow
This is a charming, cozy property just outside of Ludlow and Okemo Mountain - about a 10 minute drive depending upon road conditions and traffic.
The house itself is clean and cozy. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful. It was a very comfortable, fun stay for our group of four. We would happily recommend to others and will likely return ourselves. Thank you!
Cozy Lakeside Retreat
Such a great house! Perfect location for skiing with easy access to both Okemo and Jackson Gore base area (about a 7 minute drive). We had 4 adults, two kids and 2 dogs and it did not feel cramped at all. The place is stocked with games and DVD's and has a very nice gas fireplace to keep it cozy after long days on the slopes. We even saw a bald eagle perched in a tree right next to the house! Would definitely rent again.
Awesome place for a get away
This house was really great. Super clean. Lots to do. Better than pictured. 5 minutes to Okemo and the town of Ludlow. Kitchen was well appointed and downstairs was all remodeled including the bathroom. Right on the lake which would be great in summer or even winter as apparently there is lots of activity when it’s frozen. Neighbors were also very friendly. We had our dog and it was very easy. Lots of places to walk him around the house or across the street which lead to a small field tucked away for him to play. Would highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again.
Great family vacation spent in a warm house!
Thank you for your hospitality, you were very accommodating to our needs and we had a great time with the kids. Kids loved the frozen lake and coming home from skiing to this warm house.
Great Lakefront Getaway
We spent four days at Tom and Patricia's Lake Rescue house. It's one of the rare rental houses that ticks all the boxes: cute and clean, on the water, has a dock and man-powered boats, allows dogs.
Tom and Patricia couldn't have been nicer. They lovingly updated this camp to a bright, welcoming lake house.
My husband caught a pickerel from the dock. I explored the lake by kayak. The dogs got their toes wet.
There is a grocery store and liquor store just a couple of miles from the house. A small bait store is just down the road in the other direction; they carry Ben & Jerry's for your ice cream emergencies.
We loved everything about this vacation except for the beds. (We found them uncomfortable.) But the clean lake, pretty house, tidy yard with a sandy kayak launch made us daydream about getting our own place nearby.
PS- Look for dragonflies when you're out on the water!
Our family stayed at the Cove a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful vacation. Tom and Patti were very gracious in greeting us and even took us for a spin around the lake on their boat so we could become acquainted with the area. Their home is lovely, tastefully appointed and is situated in a cove that provides privacy and is replete with many water toys and boats for use by guests. It's a little slice of heaven!! The area has several wonderful restaurants. My teenage children had a great time paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing on the lake. Even our dog got into having fun in the water. Patti suggested an awesome spot to explore and my kids had a blast. So if you're looking for a beautiful lakefront property where you can experience the call of the loons, ducks waddling onto the shore, fishing, boating and exploring, then we highly recommend this home.
Winter: 4 miles to Jackson Gore and 4 miles to Okemo Base Lodge.
13 miles to Killington Route 4 Skyship and 18 miles to Killington Base Lodge.
2 miles to Fox Run Nordic Center and 18 miles to Mountain Meadows for cross-country skiing.
10 miles to Killington / Okemo Snowmobile Tours - Backcountry Tour, surrounded by VAST trails
Once the lake is frozen, one can ice skate, x-country ski, and/or ice fish.
Summer: Swimming, sunbathing, boating, hiking, horseback riding, miniature golf; Okemo has a great summer Adventure Park, Alpine Slide at Pico;
35 minutes to Quechee Gorge, quaint shops of Woodstock and Weston.
The easy hike up Okemo is spectacular! Or, take a swim at Buttermilk Falls.
