Amplio apartamento tipo estudio con vistas panorámicas al Canal Gastineau, el Refugio de Vida Silvestre Mendenhall y el Glaciar Mendenhall. Frente al mar privado y entrada.

Águila calva anida dentro de 100 yardas. Genial para la observación de aves. Hermosas puestas de sol, en un "cinturón seco", por lo que obtenemos la mitad de la precipitación del centro de Juneau. Tranquilo con muy poco tráfico.

Cocina completamente equipada que incluye platos, cubiertos, ollas y sartenes, cafetera, tostadora, estufa, microondas de convección, refrigerador grande con máquina de hielo, fregadero, lavadora y secadora. TV vía satélite, conexión Wi-Fi gratuita. Comedor lo suficientemente grande como para acomodar a 4 personas, área de descanso. Cama queen size, tocador, dos armarios, baño grande con tocadores dobles, bañera / ducha con barras de apoyo. Número limitado de escaleras (12) y un camino semi-accesible.

Cerca de senderos para caminar / caminar, rampas para botes, kayak y alquiler de bicicletas. 8 millas al centro de la ciudad. 17. 5 millas al aeropuerto, 20. 5 millas a la terminal de ferry.

Beautiful Views

Description was very accurate. Great location, close enough to downtown Juneau, but located in the middle of nature. The accommodations were great, modern and spotless. Amenities were over the top. Will definitively stay here again in the future.

Amazing view and awesome place! Betty was super friendly and very responsive. The apartment was the most well-stocked place I’ve ever stayed in. Betty took a lot of care in stocking everything you might need. The view is jaw-dropping!

Best view EVER!

We loved our stay! Betty & Mark were sweet and made sure we had everything needed. The apartment was very clean and in a nice neighborhood. Our favorite part was the view!! We watched eagles everyday and you can see the Mendenhall glacier as well.

Perfect Choice in Juneau

We loved North Douglas Island with amazing views of the channel and Mendenhall glacier. Hosts Mark and Betty were great hosts. We'd definitely stay again. So nice to be away from the busy cruise ship traffic.

Memorable Stay with Stunning Scenery

Great Stay on North Douglas Island

The apartment was great, the location is wonderful for bird watchers (lots of sea birds and bald eagles). The location is a 10-15 minute drive to most anywhere in Juneau. It is nice and quiet at this VRBO. The hosts were helpful in sharing their considerable knowledge of the area.

Incredible location, magnificent view, extraordinary hospitality

If you haven’t already booked your stay in Juneau area book it here soon. This place is the most peaceful place with a constant changing gorgeous view. Close to hiking, waterfront, beautiful neighborhood, everything you need or want and wonderful hosts. Book it!

We had a wonderful visit. Views from the property were great. So many eagles everywhere. Short drive (8 min) to downtown. Lots of places to sight see and eat nearby. Perfect.

A bit of paradise all to yourself!

Could not have had a more perfect and beautiful place to experience Alaska! To be nestled in a nature preserve, away from the craziness of the cruise ships was wonderful! Our hosts were gracious and informative and really helped us see Juneau without being obtrusive. You need to stay here!!

Fantastic experience

Mark and Betty were very communicative, reaching out before my arrival with check in instructions. The rental was clean and well equipped and the view was second to none. Will definitely be renting again when I return to Juneau.

Cute and clean

We enjoyed our stay here. Good views and a nice quiet area without being too far from town. There was a bit of noise from the main house but nothing unreasonable. Hosts gave us the privacy we wanted.

We appreciate the feedback and regret that you had a noise issue. We have a dead air space between the apartment and our house, and a 45 minute insulated fire door. In the past, it has been our experience that if you keep the door from the apartment to the laundry area closed you have little or no noise transfer. Perfect spot for couples exploring Juneau area

Vacation within a vacation

Every time we returned from town to on the wildlife refuge was like starting another vacation. So peaceful and beautiful. Our every need was met in this rental and the host went beyond expectations by providing starter groceries. We went to all parts of Juneau and can confirm that this location is very special- even the weather was better!

Spectacular view!

There were so many wonderful things about this property: very large bathroom, 2 closets, kitchen with everything you need, comfortable bed, very clean, quiet, outdoor space and the list goes on. However, the ever changing view was something we never tired of. We hope to stay again next time we are in Juneau. Thank you Betty and Mark

Amazing Alaska adventure

This property has everything you could ask for and the nicest hosts possible! The apartment is extremely comfortable, clean, and well appointed. Having a kitchen made a quick dinner nice and easy after a long day of hiking and site seeing. A laundry room was super useful. The location is fantastic with beautiful views of the glacier and the Gatineau channel. I’m so glad we stayed here!

Trip of a Lifetime

Beautiful property located on on the Gastineau Channel with views of Mendenhall Glacier, jumping salmon, bubbling humpback, and Bald Eagles. Betty and her husband have lived on Douglas Island for over 30 years, they provided a wealth of knowledge about the area that made the trip very authentic..we lived like natives for 8 days. I highly recommend this place, trip of a lifetime!

My husband, Mark, and I are retired but we love to travel, fish, hike and do a lot of volunteer work in the community. We are custodial grandparents of two grands, aged 12 & 10, who lost their parents.

Mark grew up in Illinois and I grew up in Idaho but both ended up in Juneau, Alaska. We spent 3 years looking for a home and when we found this one we loved it so much we bought it the same day. We believe we have one of the best places in the world to live, and we've seen a lot of the world. The location is beautiful, peaceful, beautiful views and a lot of birds and wildlife. We are 8 miles from downtown hustle and bustle so after a long day of touring you can come back to your home away from home and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The air and water are clean, you can sit outside and enjoy the quiet. The views are beautiful and because of the daily tides the view changes constantly. Close to everything but a million miles from the world.
