Just like paradise

We spent 7 amazing days in this lovely place and it was nearly "just too good to be true". Mauro and his family are the best hosts you can get and the Location is quiet, wonderful, great view and the perfect place to rest and relax. We definitely want to come back and say MILLE GRAZIE!

Trip of a lifetime. We highly recommend!

Mauro and family made our trip memorable. The villa was well equipped with everything you need and the location was very quiet. Finding the place was a challenge without GPS but met great people in the neighborhood that helped us find our way. Hospitality, hospitality, hospitality describes my experience with this family who own the villa. Location was close to train station, market and Lake so you couldn't ask for more. Bravo Mauro and Family!

Best vacation ever!

We stayed at the villa with 4 other couples to celebrate our birthdays. It was the best vacation we ever had. The villa was perfect, exactly as described. Marco was a great communicator, always responding to my many requests very quickly. Due to unfortunate circumstances he was not available when we were there, but he ensured his brother and/or nephew was available to us throughout our entire stay. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! You will love it!

A beautiful rural setting

The property was well positioned at the end of a rural road but nearby to local amenities. The garden was tiered and had an excellent outdoor eating space and pool. The interior was old style decor and there was 2 shower rooms and an additional two rooms with a bath. The owner was very responsive to our needs but also did not crowd us. He even bough cakes on the middle sunday!

Wonderful property, tranquil and accessible

Just home from a wonderful stay at the beautiful Villa le Celle del Farinaio with 3 generations of our family. The villa is perfect, situated in the tranquil Tuscan countryside but in close reach of civilisation, enabling us to visit the local towns and to easily reach the more famous cities. The accommodation worked well for us as a group of grandparents and 2 families. Excellent facilities and made full use of the pool. Lovely woodland surroundings and beautiful gardens. The owner and his family are wonderful and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Thank you so much Mauro, Nevio and Gabriella xx

Very nice and relaxing villa Tuscany

The villa is located in the hills from which you have a great view over a part of the environment of Southern Tuscany. The house is fully occupied and very spaceous. The pool is located uphill which is for people with walkingdissabilities a probleem but once there younwill find the most stounicing view. Mauro is the most hospitable man. He made us dinner on the first night and brought cakes the next morning and checken upon us evers day.a very nice and aimable man. We would recommend the house very much.

Great house in south Tuscany

The house is in a very nice location, overviewing a valley. It is at the end of a small road, with almost no neighbours, so you can enjoy very quiet surroundings and also you do not disturb anybody. Very nice and well kept garden as well as well maintained swimming pool. The house decoration is done with good taste and in the kitchen you will find all you need. Great open fireplace, which we lighted almost every evening. The landlord is very friendly and helpful. We have certainly enjoyed the wine and olive oil he has supplied as well as fuit and cakes he brought us

Perfect for a large group get away!

We had a great time for our family reunion. Lots of space to sit in large or small groups and the gardens and outdoor spaces are beautiful. The view into the valley is postcard worthy. The house feels like a typical Tuscan villa and stays cool even on hot days. The pool is well maintained and also has wonderful views. Mauro was very welcoming and responsive to any questions and issues we had. We really appreciated his help getting from the train station up to the house. The homemade cake and wine was also a welcome and delicious surprise. The house is beautiful but it is older, so we're thankful for Mauro and Nevio's responsiveness. At one point we lost hot water in one half of the house and they were very quick about fixing it. They really were wonderful hosts. We would definitely come back.

Enchanting Villa!!

This is villa is well located close to Montepulciano, Assisi, Siena, Lake Trasimeno. The villa itself is very spacious with comfortable well decorated rooms. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we could think of. The deco is true Tuscany style. The gardens outside are beautifully landscaped with hide away corners. We used the fire places in the evenings which created an intimate atmosphere. We had a wonderful Tuscany meal prepared by Mauro and his family. Not to be missed.!! Don't have too much of the starter as the 5 course meal was very filling. Mauro is a very attentive and humble host. Nothing was too much to ask and he made our stay very comfortable. We took away memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Mauro and your family. You are such nice people.

A Wonderful Week!

Our families were looking for the perfect site to host a three-generation visit to Tuscany. After reviewing many properties, we discovered Villa Le Celle del Farinaio. We were able to have enough bedroom space for 11 travelers, and the perfect setting to enjoy the countryside. Mauro was phenomenal to work with, and ensured that our stay was memorable. All the amenities were in great working order; we enjoyed the pool and made many memorable dinners in the outdoor ovens. The highlight was the dinner we arranged to have prepared by Mauro's son Federico, along with some instruction on cooking Italian style. We loved every course. While finding the Villa was a challenge initially, we soon were exploring Tuscany and Umbria with no troubles. It is essential to have a vehicle as the Villa is in a more rural area. The tradeoff is the wonderful scenery with the hills and the lake in the distance. We surely enjoyed our week, a very relaxing time in the middle of three weeks exploring Italy!

Absolutely the Most Perfect Place to Call Home

We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to spend our week in Italy. The house was perfect for our group of 8 women with ages ranging from 56 to 84! It worked wonderfully for a home base to retreat from after a day of touring local towns. We got lost on the way there from Venice...but Mauro and his son, Fedrico saved the day by meeting us and showing us the way. They had a welcome home dinner waiting for us and it was so amazing and a blessing for us 8 very tired travelers. Marcos even started a wonderful fire for us to snuggle next to as we drank the bottle of wine they left. Then the next morning, Marcos brought fresh pastries for breakfast! OMG! The accomidations were better than expected. Great beds, great baths and an awesome view! We hired Fedrico - to be our Chef for 4 evening meals. Fedrico worked with our budget and created wonderful italian dishes. Those truly were the most appreciated and enjoyed evenings there. We had a couple days at the villa where we just stayed home and enjoyed the views & hiked up the mountain behind the villa to an awesome old church and met the neighbors. It is my plan to repeat this trip with couples next October... the weather is wonderful and not hot but just chilly enough to have a fire at night. Thank you Mauro and family. You will always be a part of our family....See you next October.

Simply. Enchanting.

We really had no idea what was in store for us when we were enroute to Villa Le Celle del Farinaio. Our trip started in Rome. Four days of the typical tourist, early days, all day walking among crowds and seeing the historical sights. Imagine after the wear and tear of big city sightseeing, coming to a remote, tranquil oasis in the Tuscan countryside. What an absolute delight! I cannot tell you the impression that still remains in all of us. Walking up to the newly restored, +800yr old villa, we were instantly transported into a simpler, peaceful place. The villa is stocked with all the hardware necessary to cook your own meals, make your own coffee, even drink your own wine while soaking in the countryside views from the terrace. The local food store is just minutes away and the villa offers its own local wine you can pick from in their stocked bar area for a VERY fair price. If you are visiting in the summer, the pool on the upper terrace is absolutely perfect to cool off in the afternoon heat. Part of the villa package includes a night where the owners come and make a pizza dinner prepared right from the on-site wood oven. Pizza after pizza came out of that oven, each better than the last! Our stomachs had to surrender after we lost count of how many pizzas came out. :) All in all, this is definitely a place to recommend to any and all that want to visit the Tuscan country side!

Perfektes Landhaus abseits des Trubels

Sehr liebevoll restauriertes Landhaus mit sehr viel Platz. Ideal für Familien mit Kindern, schöner Pool und inmitten der Natur, trotzdem aber nur ein paar Minuten vom nächsten Supermarkt Kann ich nur empfehlen

Schönes Haus mit grandiosem Ausblick

Wir waren im August zu zwölft (drei Familien mit je zwei Kindern) in der Villa le Celle und waren begeistert von der Location. Die Lage in den Hügeln und der Blick ins Tal ist einfach nur schön. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe und Blick zum Detail eingerichtet. Wir waren anfangs etwas unsicher, ob wir nicht das Meer vermissen würden. Aber die Lage in den Hügeln, zahlreich Ausflugsziele in der südlichen Toskana und der Pool haben uns das Meer keine Sekunde vermissen lassen. Mauro ist ein toller Gastgeber: aufmerksam, ständig ansprechbar und kümmert schnell sich um alle Fragen. Gesamtfazit: ein toller Urlaub in einer tollen Location.

Fiftieth Anniversary

The property was lovely with many flowers in bloom. The house is a beautiful, very old house in the hills above Terontola. One of the kitchens is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and miscellaneous cooking needs. There were nine of us, so there was plenty of sleeping room. We ate all of our meals at a table right outside of the kitchen. The pool was very clean and great in the unseasonable heat. Mauro was a great host, was very responsive to all of our needs and even brought us vegetables from his garden. A trick is to keep all of the shutters closed during the day and then open them at night to let the cool air in. Then the house stays nice and cool during the day. We would go back again!

Spacious and airy family getaway with breathtaking views

Mauro was a great host, easy to communicate with and happy to help with anything we needed. The place is so lovely, a real Tuscan villa, traditionally finished and furnished, with 2 identical side by side 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom apartments with nice decor, comfortable beds and very clean.. Lots of outdoor eating and relaxing spaces, a great pool area, covered porches, ping pong table, trampoline ,( kids loved that) and remote enough to really enjoy time away from hustle and bustle. Terontola only 2 kms away, Lake Trasimeno and Cortona, a medieval gem of a hilltop town, both only 10 min away by car. Last 300 metres of road up to the property a bit rough and pot- holy but we got used to it, you just have to drive slowly for that farm road section! Clean air, olive groves and as a surprise a fantastic secret garden with an abundance of produce to pick that Mauro let us use. So great. Our family did a few close by day trips ( Perugia, Siena, Montalcino) but mostly we loved hanging out together at Celle del Farinaio. A great place to book your holiday.

Perfect vacation

The house was perfect. It is located in a beautiful spot. The location was very good for a star trip. The hostess was nice and generous. He kept surprising us with perfect pastry and more. We recommend this place very much.

The best villa we’ve rented so far!!!

We very enjoyed our week in Cortona. Everything that you can read in the other comments are true. What we have liked the most was the loclation (no one around) the swimmingpool the pizza owen and the argentinian grill! It’s the perfect place to spend some time with your family or with some friends! We hope to come back next year! Thanks for your kindness Mauro and for making sure we had everything we needed!

Heerlijk Toscaans huis met uitzicht

Heerlijk ruim authentiek Toscaans huis met grote tuin, goeie pizza oven en fijn zwembad. Zeer rustig gelegen en mooi uitzicht. Wij waren er alleen met ons gezin (5 personen) maar het huis is zeker geschikt voor grotere gezelschappen. Eigenaar Mauro is erg vriendelijk, gastvrij en behulpzaam. Minder dan 10 minuten rijden naar een grote supermarkt. Centrum van Cortona en meer van Trasimeno op een kwartiertje rijden.

Lovely Villa

We were given a very warm welcome by the owner Mauro on arrival. The villa is in a very quiet and tranquil area with a lovely pool and view. We made good use of the bbq and pizza oven making our own pizzas one evening. Mauro left us a basket of his tomatoes and peppers and was an excellent owner leaving us to ourselves but giving lots of advice when we needed it. Thank you!
