Snowdrop Cottage 1-bedroom (sleeps-2) Snowdrop Cottage has an open plan lounge, kitchen, dining area, with electric panel heaters and a wood-burning stove. The well-equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge, toaster, microwave and washing machine. Upstairs the spacious bedroom has a super-king bed and triple aspect views around the Dale. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom with a shower, toilet, washbasin and heated towel rail. There is parking outside Snowdrop Cottage and a spacious shared garden with view over Danby dale. Free WiFi for each holiday cottage. Payment in full for your Holiday Cottage is due 6 weeks before day of arrival.

We welcome everyone to enjoy our stunning location in the North York Moor National Park just over a mile from village shops, a bakery, the Esk Valley railway, and 4 local pubs in the villages of Danby and Castleton; and the brilliant Danby Lodge National Park Centre. We are always onsite for your arrival and do our upmost to ensure your stay with us is as relaxing as possible.

The holiday cottages (originally sandstone barns) all have beautiful views, parking right outside the cottage and a Electric Vehicle charging point. The cottages sleep 2-4 people and all have well-equipped kitchens, dining tables, private bathrooms, free Wifi, and access to beautiful garden with 4 seating areas.

A great location to explore the National Park and the Jurassic coastline from the North to the South: Saltburn, Staithes, Whitby, and Robin-Hoods-Bay are all within easy reach. Travel on the famous North York Moors heritage railway and visit Goathland. A host of activities and adventure awaits visit: Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, Pickering Castle, Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire Water Park, some of Britains oldest seaside towns and pretty moors villages.

Fantastic for cycling and walking there are routes for all abilities from our door. Close to the Esk Valley Walk path and St Hilda's Way walking route. We are lucky enough to be in one of the best places to see stars with the nearby Danby Lodge National Park Centre an official Dark Sky Discovery Site.

A wonderful few days in a beautiful area.

Accommodation of high quality, wonderful hosts and a peaceful location ideal for exploring the North Yorkshire National Park. There is so much to see, visit and do that we will be back for a longer stay very soon, as had no where near enough time on this trip.

A getaway from it all holiday bolt hole!

A short break away at a beautiful dog friendly location. Very well equipped cottage, immaculately clean, cosy and comfortable. Extremely welcoming hosts who are obviously dedicated to ensuring their guests enjoy a relaxing trouble free holiday.

Wonderfully relaxing and refreshing visit once again

The cottage is clean and comfortable. Rachel and Rory are excellent hosts. The scenery is magnificent and there is so much to do in the surrounding towns and countryside. Do not miss a trip to Whitby on the train! I did this because it is better than having to concentrate on driving and parking.

Excellent Cottage and friendly hosts

We recently spent 6 nights in Snowdrop Cottage. One of the very best places we have stayed and Rachael and Rory are fantastic friendly hosts who are always available and very helpful. A lovely, comfortable,very clean and well-equipped cottage in a beautiful peaceful location with superb views of the surrounding countryside. A perfect base for exploring the North Yorks Moors and surrounding areas. We very much hope to return one day.

Wonderful place and spotlessly clean due to efforts of owner!!

I came here because I had found out that my gg-grandfather lived and worked here before his marriage in 1945. I enjoyed exploring the area and trying to find out more about my ancestors.

Cosy little cottage with all you need for a stay in the North York Moors and Coast . Rachel was lovely and had good local information. Beautiful location- just a shame that the cottage is laid out to see the courtyard rather than the lovely countryside when you are sitting on the sofa .

A wonderful place to stay!

I stayed for four nights in one of the cottages. It was perfect. Immaculately clean, lovely bedding and towels and had everything I could possibly need. I felt very comfortable and relaxed. The cake that the owner provided me with was the best I have ever tasted!

A lovely cosy cottage with fabulous views.

The cottage was warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The owners were friendly and welcoming, and provided a lovely selection of treats on arrival. The views from the cottage are beautiful, and there are several nice walks from the door. A great central location for exploring the moors and coast, with shop, pubs and bakery/tearoom all only a couple of miles away.

An invigorating and calming stay in a clean and comfortable cottage run by superb hosts.

The cottage is very clean and comfortable, has spectacular views and is convenient for local amenities and countryside. The train ride to Whitby is not to be missed. The area is peaceful and everyone very friendly. Rachel and Rory are wonderful hosts and have good suggestions for things to do and places to go should you be short of ideas at all. If you wanted to you need do no more than relax in the cottage or garden and take one of many short local walks, but it is just as good for going furthe

A truly wonderful place,.

Rachel and Rory were so welcoming and the cottage was beautifully clean and well maintained with everything we needed . The peaceful and quiet surroundings are stunning. A wonderful holiday location off the beaten track . We will definitely return and would strongly recommend . The welcoming treats were yummy too. A relaxing week in a super cottage with friendly hosts set in beautiful countryside.

Gorgeous clean cottage with all amenities. Plus the bonus of a wood burner with plenty of wood left by Rachel and Rory the hosts. Enjoyable walks on the doorstep and ease of driving to Whitby and other seaside locations. Plus a train service from Danby to Whitby. We enjoy our nightly walk to St Hilda’s church opposite and a sit in the serenity of the graveyard. North Yorkshire must be one of the most beautiful places to be in England.

Excellent - as always

We stayed for the first time this year, due to the various virus challenges. Normally we would also have stayed earlier in the year as well. We arrived - we relaxed - we enjoyed our time. what more can be said? A lovely cottage. Lovely scenery and lovely area.

An excellent base for our stay in the Moors - thank you Rachel and Rory

The cottage was just right for us - it was clean and well laid-out (very useful entrance area!), everything worked as it should. We had everything we needed - and the views were great too. Thank you for the bonus cake and biscuits! We were the only residents at the time we stayed, so it was especially peaceful, and only our own car to negotiate at the front. One minor thing, which wasn't a problem in the warm weather - the door between the entrance and the living area doesn't shut properly.
