Mold was found all over in the damp garage with standing water on floor, carpet is old and filthy. Parts of carpet are missing and holes in it. Description says 2 story house but it is very misleading, there is only 1 story of living space. Grass around house smells awful- so bad we were not abke to enjoy the deck.

False advertising

While the property is right on the coast, there is only a sliver of the ocean visible from the cottage because of high dunes blocking an ocean view. Also, the beach access path from the cottage is through high beach grass and, after about 25 yards, ends (about another 30 yards from the shoreline) at a steep cliff-like dropoff that is extremely difficult to descend and impossible to get back up, making the description of a "Private beach access" deceptive.

The location of the house is good, but that's about all it has going for it. Was unclean - there were cobwebs and spider webs all over, the shower was not clean, the mirror in the primary bedroom was incredibly dirty, the coffee and dining room table both had food still stuck on them and were generally gross, the carpet is stained in practically more places than not. We killed a black widow while there. 10 am check out is a little silly, given the overnight price. Overall, nowhere near worth the money and upsetting to pay such a cleaning fee and be met with a house that we had to clean in order to be comfortable.

A short walk through the dunes

This is a fabulous location. All you have to do to get to the wide sandy beach is to cross the deck and walk through the sand dunes. Also, there is a large hot tub, where you can listen to the sound of the waves as you soak. We used the house as a basis of our exploration of the Central Oregon Coast, venturing as far south as Florence by way of the Heceta Head Lighthouse, and up to the "Outstanding Natural Area" of Yaquina

It was okay at best

The property was outdated and the carpet smelled moldy. The view from the house was a sand dune. Walk to the beach wasn’t bad but the sand burs were bad.

Older Home with great Entertainment

Our beach experience at Daly’s House

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay. Was plenty of room for us all and our littlest Grandkiddos loved the hot tub! (We did too). The furniture is dated and the interior could use new paint. The mini blinds also need replacing as they didn’t work well at all (especially in the bedrooms). Loved being able to walk a short distance to the beach. Great location and very quiet and private.

This house has everything you will need. It is basic. You cannot really see the ocean from the windows. The carpet absolutely needs to go!!! Furniture is really old too. New mattresses are a must! We loved walking the beach, gazing at the ocean from their bench on a higher dune. Three couples, three queen sized beds, very good kitchen knives. Happiest of New Years to all!

Lovely location - great beach!

Reviewer Comments: We spent four nights in this location and really enjoyed sunning on the deck, soaking in the hot tub, and the proximity to activities and coastal towns. The kitchen was pretty well stocked (we're total foodies) but the barbecue was stored downstairs in the garage and we didn't feel like lugging it upstairs or cooking in the driveway. Master bath (rain)shower was awesome! WiFi worked great and the house also had a newer SmartTV. Overall the house/decor was a bit cheesy and dated, but it was a fantastic rental!

Over rated and over priced

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pictures didn't match what we experienced. The location was what we were looking for. The interior of the house needs a major upgrade from the 1970's to the present. Upon our arrival I had to use the bathroom and was greeted by a black widow spider. Our pregnant daughter was with us and this set the tone for the rest of our shortened stay. I killed two more black widows. There where cob webs in the kitchen as well as the front windows in the staircase. The carpet throughout the house is stretched.The blue wing-back chair in the living room has the material so worn the print is off the arms and seat cushion. The bed in the far bedroom had both the head board and foot-board so loose we had to put a pillow behind the head board to stop the noise every time you moved. We cut our trip short by two days and have never received a call back or a refund form the rental company after we filled out a complaint form.

Literally on the Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 1. The best thing about this house is that it is REALLY on the beach. Maybe 1000 feet across the dunes. A very short walk. Very important for when you need to run back 10 times to get something you forgot. 2. The house itself is completely outdated--shag carpet, old photos on the walls, ugly tile, small kitchen, old couches, etc. But this didn't really make any difference to us. 3. FYI--You can see the dunes and the distant water from the house, but because it is lower than the dunes you can't see the waves crashing from the house. 4. The ping-pong basement/garage area was fun, but quite cold because there's no heater down there. Also the area was crowded with a couple of boats in storage that weren't in the pictures. 5. The hot tub fits about 4 or 5 people comfortably. 6. The BBQ grill worked great. Kitchen was well stocked. 7. The house was basically clean, but there were cobwebs in the ceiling corners, and a generally old feeling about the house. 8. Seal Rock Park about 5 minutes up the road was amazing. We also saw seals early in the morning on the beach at the house. We had a great time and would be willing to stay at this house again.

Location and beach access were breathtaking!!

I loved this location!! Beach access was amazing even though you had to walk just a lil to get directly on the beach. The house itself was just as pictured for the most part, I did not notice the place didn’t have air conditioning which I’d be fine with if alll the windows had screens. Only a couple of them had screens so bugs definitely flew into the house especially after dark.(One of the girls got bitten by a mosquito we assumed) The shower still had hair in it so that part wasn’t okay. As for the rest of the house everything else was good. Downstairs had some pad locked doors and no signs labeling them so it was a bit scary at night especially to get down to the laundry room. It was a house with four ladies so we all forced each other down there together lol. That’s all for the inside. Now the patio was nice but be careful walking on all the boards out there, some of them needs to be replaced, it was loose and a bit scary to walk on in that corner. The hot tub was nice especially after our hike but it was filled with sand on the bottom that part was a bummer but we needed a soak. Maybe putting a bucket there to rinse your feet before you enter the tub would come in handy. That’s everything I could still think of, I still gave a five star review because the location and the place deserved it! Those were just some of the things we experienced on our stay that would improve the stay for other or ourselves again in the future. So book it those views/memories will be worth it!

Overpriced beach house rental.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A couple things to note if you're considering renting this home: 1. This house is actually located right on the beach (unlike many of the houses listed on VRBO/HomeAway as beachfront/oceanfront houses which are really accross the street or a couple blocks away from the ocean.) 2. Beach access is direct from the rear porch. There are two small dunes to walk through to get to the water. Maybe 1000 feet to the water. Not a problem for the average person, just keep in mind if someone in your party has limited mobility. 3. The ocean is visible from the house but the beach is not, it is obstructed by the dunes. 4. The house is severely outdated and in need of renovation. Old seafoam blue/green tile and carpet throughout. Poor furniture. Beds were good. 5. Smells very musty, most of the smell comes from the three or four old outboard gas cans located in the basement garage. 6. The fireplace in the living room/dining room and the wood stove in the bedroom are great!! 7. The master shower was awesome, could use more shower heads. 8. The hot tub was a really fun feature for the kids. Sliding glass door from the master bedroom to the hot tub. 9. All appliances worked well. 10. Beach location is great for kids, at low tide there is roughly 800' of perfect sand beach. Lot's of harbour seals close to shore. 11. Ping pong table in the basement was great for entertaining the kids when they weren't on the beach. 12. There isn't much to do in Waldport, but Newport is only 20 minutes away. 13. This vacation rental isn't bad overall but we feel like it should be priced about a third lower for what it is. I wouldn't pay that much for this house again.

For your stay 1/3 would equate to $100 a night or a motel room equivalent. Prices vary by season but we feel there's always value present when guests receive an oceanfront view, hot tub, games for the family and a three bedroom home for the whole group to enjoy.
