Great Getaway to Wine Country!
This home was beautiful and perfect for our gathering. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the setting. Very close to several wineries!
Wine trip with friends
We loved our stay. We would rent this house again The house is very comfortable and nicely appointed. It is a perfect rental. We were 3 couples visiting wine country. I wish we had rented it for an entire week so we could have visited all of the wineries on Red Mountain. The house is amidst the vineyards and on the river. It was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the view. The only thing is read the description of the bathrooms. The shower in the master is a claw foot tub with shower surround. It you are elderly or disabled it might be too difficult. There is a regular tub in basement. Also there isn't curtain , blind, or drape in master bath. That is really something that should be taken care of. The house was lovely.
Cindi, so glad your group "loved" our rustic farm house Villa in the heart of the Washington Wine Country, the location on the river is as good as it gets! The house was designed to step back in time with an Old World theme. So Yes, we have 2 antique clawfoot bathtubs in 3 of our bathrooms that are not overly easy for getting in and out of; but that is part of the step back in time experience we feel. We also mention and illustrate the clawfoot tubs in the house description and photos. Since the clawfoot tub and sur-round shower curtain in the Master Bathroom is right next to the Window, we have been using that as the window curtain. When closed it does cover about 95% of the window area. I guess we could put a blind there also, but it has never come up before as an issue. Thanks for pointing that out.....
Anyhow, thanks for leaving the house and property clean and organized, that is much appreciated. We hope you come back one day again, it is a great property and area to relax in and take in the views as you stated. Best Regards, Brad Vancour Owner
Beautiful location but uninspired home
A very quirky house, not especially great for seniors, uneven floor with many hazards. No accessible shower on main floor. Had 2 vintage tubs only with no hand rails. Basement stairs very dangerous with only 1 handrail. Too many personal food items in fridge. Wrinkled and dingy linens. House could use professional cleaning. Outside areas were filled with cobwebs and debris. Killed black widow spider in basement. Overpriced.
Yes, this older farm house is rustic with lots of character which most quests have really liked in a Wine Country setting, opposed to typical more modern vacation rentals. The photos online show two vintage bathtubs without handrails. Yes, the basement stairs has only one handrail, it has never come up as an issue before. The personal items mentioned in the fridge are condiments which most guests appreciate for their use such as mustard, ketchup, relish, mayo, hot sauces and various salad dressings. We heard your group had issues with other established venues in town also.....
Great location in Red Mountain
Loved the location. The best wines in Yakima are here. We came for Spring Barrel tasting but spent most of our time at Red Mountain. We loved sitting by river after the day wine tasting. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner every day at the Villa and it was very comfortable for all 8 of us.
Karen, so glad that your group enjoyed your visit to Red Mountain and our rustic old world Vacation Rental.
My family was visiting for a wedding in Benton City. We had a wonderful stay at Red Mountain Villa.
Rodney, so glad to hear your group had a wonderful stay at our Vacation Rental and enjoyed the area for the wedding. Please come again!
Red Mountain Villa is in the heart of the Washington State Wine Country with a dozen great winery's and vineyards within a 5 minute drive. Also on the Yakima River for fishing, boating, kayaking and other fun activities.
About Brad Vancour
I work in real estate mostly all over the State of Washington, but involved in other fun projects time to time. I like to keep busy with a variety of fun and interesting things. Red Mountain Villa is also a small estate vineyard with a modest annual wine production that we enjoy making as a hobby. The grapes from the property are so good, it is really our job not to ruin its journey to a finished wine.
Brad Vancour purchased this House in 2017
Why Brad Vancour chose Benton City
This property is in a naturally stunning location with spectacular river and mountain views. It feels like the Garden of Eden with an abundance and vast variety of fruits, nuts, grapes and berries for grazing during the Spring, Summer and Fall. The fact that it is also in the midst of the best wine region of the Northwest and possibly North America is just an added bonus. When this unique rustic old remodeled farmhouse came up for sale, we fell head over heels for it. Our long-term goals are to make a wonderful low volume private label wine production for friends and family. The 3500 square foot 100 year old house was originally the Railway Station. It has been renovated a several times over the years to a house, but was completely remodeled in 2016 with a very charming Italian themed "Old World" design. It was built with classic materials and has a ton of character; we fell in love with it on first sight. You feel like you have stepped back in time on each visit, its a true get away. The riverfront property is very interesting in that it is nearly self-sufficient with fruit orchards, walnut trees, vegetable gardens, a variety of berry bushes and vineyards. It has everything we wanted and in the heart of the wine country. Plus, 300 days of sunshine which you need when you live in Seattle. :)
What makes this House unique
The Red Mountain AVA within Washington State has become internationally known as the predominate quality wine producing region of the Northwest. If you want to experience great wines, please come and try the wines being produce now from this region, they are the perfect blend of the California and Bordeaux, France regions. Within walking and biking distance are notable wineries such as Hedges, Col Solare, Kiona, Terra Blanca, Tucannon and many more. Also, many of the top wine makers in the Northwest purchase their grapes all within a mile of our property such as DeLille, Leonetti, Quilceda Creek, Betz, Efeste, and many others. Our vacation rental Red Mountain Villa is in the heart of it all, but also a riverfront property with many recreational activities. The weather is typically sunny, so there is no excuse not to have a great time here.
