Awesome, updated, comfortable, cozy home. Kim was extremely accommodating and easy to contact.
Beautiful home, modern, comfy, close to town. Kim was very gracious and helpful, didn't blink at us arriving at 2:00 am after a 13-hour drive, she just left the door open and the key on the table for us. House was stocked with coffee and fixings, filters, popcorn, bottled water in the fridge. Definitely will stay here again!
Aubrey’s True North Cabin Stockton
Very welcoming, comfortable, and beautiful touches throughout the cabin. From minute opened the door we said what a great place. New and up to date. Very clean, comfortable beds, and well supplied kitchen. Was a highlight to our stay at Stockton. We had our own boat and was easy to drive into the cabin
The cottage is perfect. Kim has thought of everything from the fresh flowers 🌺 yummy treats and clean well stocked with everything you need. The only thing I couldn't find was a cutting board.
Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to me catching some sort of bug. But as I told Kim we will be back. It's so close to the lake making it great for boating. Thank you again for letting us stay.
We Came Back!
Our first stay here was just my husband and I. This past weekend we brought our 2 daughters and they loved it as much as we did. The cabin is so homey! The decor is awesome and the accommodations include anything you could possibly need. It's just a short drive to both the Orleans Trail and State Park. Our one suggestion is to add some mattress toppers to the beds. We have really enjoyed visiting this little getaway. It's a great alternative for those who don't camp or don't want to stay at a larger resort with lots of neighbors.
Aubree's True North is our new favorite place to stay at Stockton. We've stayed at this location twice and have more weekends booked. It is a beautiful guest home on the edge of town. The house is beautifully decorated in the modern farmhouse style. It has special touches like fresh flowers and sweet treats awaiting your arrival. Every amenity is provided from a grill and new appliances in a fully stocked kitchen, to bubbles for soaking in the enormous garden tub. The house comfortably sleeps 4. There is a daybed and trundle in the living room. Slide back the barn door and discover a beautiful and spacious bedroom with a comfortable queen bed.
I have spent my summers growing up in Stockton, and know the water in the area tastes and smells of sulfur. I recommend bringing your own drinking water, though some bottles are provided you may want more. You'll need to go in with the understanding the water has a smell anywhere you stay in the Stockton area.
Sit back and take in nature on the front or back porch. Your guaranteed to see rabbits around the area. My children love to watch them hop around the site. I'll be honest, the idea of a guest house made me nervous. However, I'm so glad we booked. The house sits approximately 100 yards from the owner's home and has its own private drive. Though it is a guest home you feel very secluded.
The owners are so kind and have literally put their heart and soul into this place. If you're looking for luxury at the lake, I highly recommend Aubree's True North.
Cozy cabin for one night
This was a great little place for one night stay. We were pleasantly surprised by all the modern touches. This is a nice place for a couple to stay for the weekend. The owner Kim left some tasty local cinnamon buns for us and bottled water. The only complaints we had were water smells like sulfur no matter how long you run it for, the bed was a little uncomfortable and there wasn't a 2nd sign off of the gravel road that tells you to turn into the Schmid's driveway where Aubree's North is located.
However there were some very thoughtful touches like a charcoal grill with all the necessary items like charcoal, lighter fluid and grilling utensils. All the appliances to include a dishwasher were brand new and there was lots of room to move throughout the cabin. There were also paper towels and soap so everything was well thought out.
Overall it was a great stay and very comfortable for one night.
