Want a relaxing vacation on one of the clearest lakes in Minnesota? Rakow Retreat is the place for you! Eagle Lake boasts 25' clarity!

Located on the south side of Eagle Lake, this charming cabin includes all the amenities you would expect in a luxury lake-side resort. Knotty pine walls, doors, and trim as well as a beautiful stone wood burning fireplace make it the perfect place to spend time away from home. The incredible outdoor space boast 3 different decks including a one of a kind 30' x 30' deck installed above the crystal clear water of Eagle Lake.

Rakow Retreat comes fully furnished with queen-size beds in each or the 3 bedrooms. The upstairs family room includes built-in cabinetry, satellite TV, and a full-size sleeper sofa. The downstairs open floor plan includes a living room with satellite TV and custom-built fireplace, dining table for 8, as well as the fully-equipped kitchen. An outdoor charcoal grill with gas starter will make preparing meals a breeze.

The comforts of this home do not stop there-towels, bedding, as well as a full-size stacked washer and dryer round out the conveniences provided in this home.

When you are ready to venture out, the charming town of Battle Lake is only a short drive away. Enjoy the shops, restaurants, and beauty of this small Minnesota town.

Relaxing family vacation

We had another amazing stay at this property for our yearly Eagle Lake get away. The property was clean and in great condition and had everything we needed during our stay. We enjoyed time spent on the decks overlooking the lake and swimming in the amazing water. We will be back next year. We can’t wait!

Another Perfect Stay on Eagle Lake!

This property continues to be one of lake country's VRBO gems - clean, comfy accommodations, crystal clear water, and plenty to do both around the house and in the surrounding area. Craig and Donna are responsive and very easy to communicate with. We'll hope to book again next summer!

Fantastic vacation

Our return to this cabin was nothing short of wonderful. We love the location and it served as the jumping point for so many awesome adventures for the week. It fits all of our needs. It’s spacious and fits our family. The location right on the lake is so amazing and the deck over the lake is favorite. We will be back!

Fantastic Cabin Retreat

We spent a week at this beautiful cabin and enjoyed it greatly. The location is perfect right on the lake. There are amazing views of the lake all throughout the cabin, which we took advantage of. The decks were awesome and provided lots of space to relax and enjoy the lake. We also greatly enjoyed use of the kayaks and used the dock for fishing. The cabin was very clean at check in and was also well stocked. We were so impressed. We are already making our reservation for next year!

Fully outfitted lake house on one of MN's most beautiful lakes

Our family had an absolute blast during our stay on Eagle Lake. Everyone from my 70-year old father to my 10-month old daughter enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and relaxing around the house. The lake is gorgeous - crystal clear water that's just the right temperature for summer swimming. The house was very clean and modern, and the owner was nice and responsive whenever we needed anything. Just about a perfect place for a MN family vacation on the lake. We'll hope to stay again next summer!

Well maintained cabin

Secluded two story cabin/home with all the amenities. Porches and decks all give great views of the lake. The kitchen and livingroom are well appointed and homey. Two big bath rooms with showers and tub/shower. Beds are comfortable. All appliances are quality and newer. The lake is the clearest in MN! The host is very helpful and responsive. Independant fishing guides give great experience. No beach or play area for youngsters. Boat docking space is good quality but limited. We rented a pontoon and were challenged tieing it up .This was our second year and have reserved next year. The family loves it.

Amazing spot on Beautiful Eagle Lake

This property was amazing and perfect. It was very clean when we arrived, very organized. Dealing with Craig was very simple and he always returned messages in a timely manner and was very helpful with any questions we had. The house was large and very well taken care of. The dock was very nice as well. Only issue, which wasn’t much of an issue at all, was we rented a pontoon and there wasn’t much room to tie it up but we figured it out quite quickly. Also we used their boat ramp for my boat and that worked perfectly. It is located very close to the only boat launch on the lake. It had been about 15 years since my family has been to Eagle Lake after spending time on the lake every summer growing up and it is still as beautiful and the fishing is still as amazing as it always has been. Huge thank you to Craig and his family for giving us the opportunity to enjoy Eagle Lake again and we look forward to staying here again very soon!!

Beautiful and Peaceful Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing at this beautiful lake house. The decks have amazing views and are right on the water. We used the kayaks and brought our own paddle board. The lake water is very clear, and it was calm and great for these activities. The kids enjoyed swimming, but it was a bit cold for me! We were also able to catch quite a few fish from the dock. My favorite part was drinking coffee each morning on the deck, seeing all the wildlife, and listening to the loons! The nearby town of Battle Lake had a few restaurants. Our favorite was the Boat House. We also made the 40 minute drive to Alexandria to Casey’s Amusement Park for some mini golf and go karts! After a family emergency and some misunderstanding with the cleaning crew at the beginning of our stay, the owners went above and beyond to make it right. Their communication with us was great. They even gave us many recommendations of things to do with our kids. We would be happy to stay here again!

Nice cabin on best lake anywhere

We had a poor start. The new cleaning hire did not do their job well at all. Owner Craig was very supportive. New steps to the deck and new deck supports were appreciated, however steps from deck to dock are very steep and handrail a little wobbly for us more mature folks. We rent a pontoon each year and it is a challenge to tie up with the current dock configuration which is first class material. They keep the cabin homey, but a few more small updates, like the great coffee maker and new gas grill would take it to a five star. We are so very greatful that the Rakows continue to share this home on the lake with those of us lucky enough to know about it. (No gratuities were given in exchange for this review). Until next year!

Eagle Lake

Beautiful cabin. View of the lake from the decks are awesome. Finally, we where on the lake to see the Northern Lights!!! Our first time staying in you cabin. Though we have vacation on Eagle Lake for many, many years. Hoping to book again and bring our son's, their spouse's and grandkids. Starting a new generation staying on Eagle Lake.

Relaxing Getaway

This is a lovely peaceful home on the south side of Eagle Lake, with great summer views of sunrises and sunsets and the beautiful shades of blue in the water. The Keurig coffee maker makes a full pot or just a cup to enjoy mornings on the deck, while listening to the beautiful calls of the loons and watching fish randomly jumping up from the water’s surface. These were just a few things we loved about this home. We hope to visit again!
