The clean cozy family friendly Hi Vista Hills Cabin is located on the gorgeous hillside of Ottertail Lake; you’ll have plenty of space to sprawl out and enjoy the fresh Minnesota air while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Get ready to take in clear night skies full of brilliant constellations from the expansive deck or our lakeside firepit — whether it’s a cold winter night or a fresh summer evening sunsets are nothing less than spectacular.

The cozy cabin space has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fireplace and a kitchen that's great for preparing your meals. Brew a cup of coffee and enjoy it while looking at the beautiful lake view through the many windows or step outside and enjoy sipping your cup of joe on the deck. There are two large comfy common areas to rest and recharge in with spacious seating, enjoy a movie on one of the large flatscreen TV's or play games with family and friends.

If you're visiting during the summer, enjoy the cozy firepit, play a game of bags, build sandcastles, swim, boat, kayak with our two available boats, or catch a walleye in the iconic body of water known as angler’s dream. In the winter hit the snowmobile trails, cross country ski, downhill ski or set up your ice shack and catch a trophy or your limit of Crappies and enjoy a fish fry.

Set out to explore the surrounding areas with three small towns nearby (Ottertail, Battle Lake and Perham) plenty of options for dining, barhopping, breweries, quaint coffee shops, boutiques, golfing (Balmoral, Thumper Pond and Perham Lakeside) and hike into the great outdoors with two State Parks in close proximity — it really is the quintessential small town lake experience with something for everyone.

Great Lake stay

Cabin is well appointed and decorated beautifully but the outdoor space is the winner. Located right on the lake with lots of places for morning coffee views. Great spot for a lake vacation.

Lovely lakeside getaway

Communication with Pat was great, cabin was clean and comfortable, neighbors were kind and location was great. Would definitely stay again. The lake is clean, shallow and super swimmable. We all had a wonderful time!

Overall, our stay was amazing! Bed were very comfortable, house was clean, lots of comfy areas to hang out, nice dock, and nice and updated interior! The only downfall for some could be the many steps around the property, like going down to the lake and back up with no railing.

Close to everything. The house was very cozy and clean. Big windows looking out to the large deck and lake. The kitchen had everything, but the ice maker did not work so you might want to get some ice before you arrive. Otherwise it was a fantastic stay. Thank you so much

2023 summer vacation

Weekend at the Lake

The property was lovely as were the grounds. We found that the house and deck worked great for us. And we enjoyed the lakeside area. The only problem we had was the steepness of the access from the house to the lake. One of us could not get down those steps because of age and disability.

Wonderful Week at Hi Vista Hills!

The cabin and included amenities were accurately portrayed in the listing, so there were surprises. We could tell that Pat and family have really put time and effort into making a space that is both functional and welcoming. The kitchen had all of the essentials, and they left us a basket of goodies as well as a vase of fresh flowers. Each bedroom had a comfortable queen size bed. Common areas, both upstairs and down, provided ample space for family to spread out. In addition, there were several configurations of outdoor furniture that we took advantage of. And of course, you cannot beat those Ottertail sunsets!

Nice stay in July

We recently completed a nice week-long stay. The cabin is as described on the listing. Beds and all the linens were very nice, no complaints. We unfortunately didn't have the best weather during our stay. Due to this the magnitude of the lake was brought more to our attention then it would probably have been otherwise. Given where the cabin is placed on the lake it takes much of the direct wind and makes it difficult to leave your boat in the water tied up to the dock. We made the best of it and went out on the lake when we could as well as fished a number of other nearby lakes as well. Many are very close and easy to find. The kitchen is small, however it has everything you need for the stay. I spent many mornings relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake. The private setting and neighborhood makes for lovely evening walks. Kayaks were available for use along with some yard games. Evening fires on the lake side were a definite plus!! Restaurants we went to were The Woodshed, Zorbaz and Beach Bums. I wouldn't recommend Beach Bums, the food and service were lacking. The Woodshed and Zorbaz were both great. Highly recommend checking out the turtle races on Wednesday's in Perham. Fun family time was had throughout our stay! We hit some great fishing on West Leaf and Blanche lakes which are both close by with public access. The property owners were very good to work with and communicative when I had questions. A very nice place to stay overall.

We are three brothers and their wives (and many kids) who love the outdoors and being "up north". We enjoy spending time with our large family, fishing, hiking and playing cards. We travel often and typically stay in VRBO's along the way and have always envisioned someday down the road having one of our own.

Why they chose this property

Our cabin is in Cushing, MN but after lots of travel and looking for an investment property we loved how this property was perfectly nestled in the middle of the quaint surrounding towns, Battle Lake, Ottertail Lake and Perham. The brothers being avid fishermen loved that Ottertail Lake is also well known for being a great fishing lake.

What makes this property unique

The lake view at Hi-Vista Hills from both the huge deck and below drew us in. The large yard for playing a game of football, frisbee or bags and firepit area had us envisioning the perfect space for families and friends to make memories.
