This property was perfect for our stay. It was new, well appointed, many extras and so close to the downtown. I would definitely stay at this property again!
The property had everything we needed for a great week in St. Andrews. Enjoyed being able to walk into the village, but also close to the East Bay for walks along the Fife Coastal Path. Lots of space in the apartment for the 2 of us.
Very pleasant place to stay. Clean and full of light. Would have been nice to have more towels and garbage cans in the bathrooms.

Towels were available for a single guest occupancy. However, one day into the stay I was informed that two more guests were staying. I had no prior notice of this. Towels were immediately made available.
A very well presented spacious apartment in a great location. If you want the option of self catering John’s place is brilliant but also very close to pubs and restaurants in town. Would definitely return.
Good place, needs a few improvements to be 5-star, better cooktop instructions, 2 sets of keys or electronic access, upgraded cutlery, SkyTV-Golf

The hob is an induction electric job. I have left an instruction booklet. In essence the diameter of the cooking pot must be the same diameter as the hob ring.
Nobody else have complained about the cutlery. However, I have purchased a new set of cutlery.
Here for a holiday.
Lovely property. Clean and organized. Easy walk to anything
The oven and stove top are different than used in the USA and we had trouble making them work.
Would return.
My family just recently stayed at this apartment as we were moving our daughter into St. Andrews. This was a new VRBO listing and I think we may have been one of the 1st ones that stayed there as the place was impeccably clean and new. Here are some of the pros of this apt:
- Was very clean, new everything (i.e appliances, etc)
- Modern fixtures and appliances (and I was able to figure out how to use the washing machine/dryer due to the owner/manager leaving the appliances out in a binder
- Apt was less than a 5 minute walk to St. Andrews town (and unfortunately too close to the Jannetta's gelato place as we went there everyday)
- I was able to go running (to burn off some of the calories from eating gelato!) from the apt with great views of St. Andrews and landmarks
- Any questions I had (after I booked my reservation) were immediately responded to
There were no cons. We would stay here again for sure!
This property is in a good location, nice modern style decor and roomy. Unfortunately, several months after we signed the owners VRBO contract he contacted us requesting an additional £300. He claimed that VRBO had not updated his nightly rental fee for high season. Isn’t it his responsibility to stay on top of his own VRBO rental fees? I would think that once you and the owner agreed to a contract and you’ve paid the whole total of the entire six day stay in the first payment as he requested that he should then honor that and not try to squeeze more money out of you down the road as it was not our mistake. At that point there were no more rentals available in the area that met all our requirements so we couldn’t cancel. To make matters worse the second bedroom with two twin beds had almost nonexistent mattresses. They were about 3” deep and felt like sleeping on coils covered in a thin rough sheet. Our traveling partners were shocked and furious since his VRBO description claimed this was a 5-star apartment! There’s no good way to express how miserable their nights were trying to sleep on those rundown pads. We’ve rented numerous VRBO’s over many years and have never had an experience like this before. Renters Beware, this may look like a pretty rental but you won’t get any sleep and it could end up costing you more money then you contracted for!

In response to this review I must comment.
The rental fee for the six days should have been £1600.00 rather than £1030.00. VRBO made a mistake in the nightly charge but would not take responsibility for it. I did indeed contact the guests asking if they were prepared to pay half the difference, ie £300.00. I also stated that if they were unwilling to accept this additional fee, I would quite understand. I explained the scenario and politely asked the question. It wasn’t a question of trying to squeeze additional monies from them.
Considering it is the high season, I thought the guests were getting a good deal even with the additional fee.
With regard the twin bed mattresses, these beds were purchased two years ago. The mattresses are not 3 ‘’ thick. I will post a picture of the mattresses that will show the thickness. I do not mind criticism but it should be accurate. No other guests have complained about the beds
Nice apartment---Be careful of the host ! You must obey his rules !
I am a very experienced STR traveller and also a host of multiple STR's so very familiar with the business. Thus, I will try and keep this review succinct without going too much into minutae.
Basically, this apartment is very clean, well presented and pretty close to most of what a traveller will need in St Andrews. The apartment is very modern and has the basic necessities in term of amentities without being overly cluttered or luxurious.
However, our experience was tainted more AFTER our stay than during, when we received nasty emails from the host (whom i felt from outset was a little cold and stand offish)
We received a VERY strong and threatening email about how badly we had treated the place and how we had not followed his house rules. As an example items listed were; we dared to take an additional bed cover from the closet and use it and that it wasn't necessary in his opinion as the it wasnt cold weather.
Further he complained we had the heating on in the apartment and had also slightly moved some of the furniture for our convenience.
I was astounded at the email and his accusations as i have never in years of travelling at STR's ever received such an email. It appears this host wants to rent his apartment at a not insignificant rental rate and then the guests spend their time reading his rule book and obeying his orders and demands.
Noting the short duration of the listing i question whether the host is new to this? and his requirements unrealistic

I’ve no intention of writing a lengthy dialogue in reply to this review. However, I must correct a couple of points.
I sent a welcoming email to the guest prior to arrival and one at conclusion of the stay enquiring if the holiday was a success, yet I am accused of being a little cold and stand offish. Very strange.
Further, after inspection of the property, I sent only one email, (not emails) to the guest which in my opinion wasn’t nasty, just a reflection of the condition of the apartment we found.
Reading the review, I get the impression that this guest doesn’t like being reprimanded and thinks the apartment can be left in any condition.
My basic complaints were.
1. My personal lockable cupboard had been tampered with.
2. Both sources of heating, radiators and under floor left on.
3. Excessive blood and dirt stains on separate pillow cases which had been removed from the wardrobe.
Contrary to the review I am not a novice to the rental business and this is first time and hopefully the last time I’ve had to send a critical review about a guest.
