This property was perfect for our visit with family in the area. A block from the red line, 2 blocks from a whole foods, lots of little restaurants near by.
The unit was immaculate, very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need!
Home away from home and more. . .
This property couldn't have been much better. Clean, spacious, updated, nice details and touches, well-equipped and particularly helpful and responsive property manager. Will definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.
What a lovely and comfortable place and perfect location! Extra plus to have off-street garage parking. Luxury bath linens, very comfortable master bed, and great rear deck. Also, Enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing.
Thoughtful touches that provided graniola, chips, milk and creamer, sparkling water and even a couple Peroni beers! Thanks so much for making us feel at home for the week...
Maia was very nice and made the check in process quick and simple. The place is in a great neighborhood and is very close to the red line train. The house is nice and would definitely be the place we stay in if we are ever in Chicago again. Thanks Maia!
Charming Flat! Fabulous location!
The flat is in a very safe, walkable location not far from a stop on the Red Line. It is quite charming. While the fixtures are rustic, that doesn't mean old or dated. The kitchen and bathrooms are updated in an eclectic, rustic style. The beds, pillows, and linens are the most comfortable we've ever experienced in a rental.
And the best part is that Maia stocks the apartment with just the right things to make it like home. Most rental units don't have any amenities like shampoo and conditioner or dishwasher detergent. I hate having to buy dishwasher detergent just for a short stay. Maia provides the basics, which meant we didn't have to run to the store on the first day just to live life, although we did enjoy walking to the nearby grocery at our convenience.
Maia is an excellent host. She met us at check in to ensure that we were comfortable and was available to answer any questions we had during our stay. We would definitely stay here again when back in the area.
Many Details Are Just Right
... but there were just a couple issues. First, there should be a door separating the bathroom from the master. Two, cent fans in bathrooms would be ideal. There are also at least three very noteworthy trip hazards on the property. I stubbed my toe twice. The place was a tad rustic: pipes as toilet paper holders, for example. Finally, there is a lot of noise that occurs from the floors as one walks around in the unit, and especially from the unit above. Creaking, creaking, creaking! In the end, we appreciated the food and drink that we found upon arrival, and the location is good as far as safety and beauty (but note it still takes a good 30-35 minutes to get to downtown Chicago on public transportation).
To future Guest,
I wanted to respond to a very unusual review. I hope my brief clarification on intentional design is helpful.
The unit is a hip urban restoration with exposed brick walls, reclaimed wood beams, hand built oversized solid doors. There are pipe toilet paper holders, exposed and cooper piping as part of the design. The kitchen fully Renovated and the bathrooms have full floor marble. The master bathroom is part of a en suite. Design is intentional- A luxury feature of the master bedroom.
Rustic? Maybe in a renovated reclaimed edgy way.
The floors are oak, solid
and beautifully restored.
The location is perfect for couples or families that want to be north of down town, close to the lake and universities with the red line within two blocks. The redline runs Parallel to Lake Shore Drive. Central down town, is an estimated thirty minutes. Please note, there are many unique areas in-between that visitors also explore, including wrigley field, mid way from The Flat. There are many neighborhoods that visitors experience and the RedLine is the gateway to our City.
