We enjoyed our 2 weeks there very much. Very cute cottage with everything we needed for our time there. Heather was very nice and very prompt getting back to us. We would definitely stay again and have recommended the place to others already.
This review is false. The guest asked for a refund after 1 night for a 3 night stay because he said "everything has gone wrong on this vacation " he had car troubles, family troubles or what not. We removed the hot tub years ago and the listing reflects that. He says there is no beach access, Google map it or read the previous 15 years worth of reviews, he is dead wrong. When he told me that I asked if he walk around, Otter Rock State park and public stairs are 1-2 blocks away (there are 2 beaches). He took his Dont Tread in me shirt and go Brandon flag and headed back to Idaho where he is happier....
Good for families; rent all units for a fun multi-family stay!
This place was great for our stay. Relaxing and easy, close to the beach and nice commodities. Good for kids and dogs. Downside: I didn’t realize it was a shared yard, shared fire pit and hot tub. Also, whoever cleaned the pans last left charred bits all over them. (I don’t blame the cleaning staff or owners for that). Also thought it strange that a day into our stay, someone drove an excavator into the backyard and spread a ton of loose dirt over half the grass.
Excellent location | you might hear your neighbors
The only downside was hearing the neighbors. In my haste to get a rental, I thought this was ‘behind’ another unit. ADU-style. It was attached. As in ‘duplex-style’. The neighbors weren’t excessively loud — the sound just carried — especially the toddler running. Again, the location is excellent — the beach, Mo’s, etc — all an easy walk. The unit is clean, neat — the ‘basics’ are nicely met.
Comfortable, cozy place- great location for sights.
Overall this was a great place for a vacation. We only stayed one night but wish we could’ve stayed longer. It was a bit tricky to back out down the driveway and the neighborhood right around was a little rough but it had a fantastic path, 5-7 minute walk to Devils Punchbowl and therefore all the super cute stores and a winery and Mo’s only steps away down that path as well. It was also within short walking distance to stairs down to the beach, which was amazing! Not too far of a drive to town, Safeway and Fred Meyer within 5-10 minutes. The beds were so incredibly comfortable and the living space was perfect for 2-4 friends to hang out. I wish we would’ve brought matches or a lighter to get a fire going in the shared fire pit out back because there weren’t any in the house that we could find but a pack of wood was provided. The owner was easy to reach via text and was flexible and kind. 100% would stay again!

Cleaning needed
Was cute, but the cleaning crew needs to be retrained or checked on more often. I own a cleaning company and cobwebs inside the house is unacceptable. Dishes were dirty in the dishwasher, full trash can under the sink, clothes in the washer. Heaters barely worked. Bedroom lights wouldn’t work for half the night then all of a sudden worked.

Not for me
This was a big disappointment. I read through some of the other reviews and I guess it depends on what you’re used to. Other reviewer‘s are right, there’s false information in the posting.
Positive
It is close to the state park and beach access. Right off the freeway. Quite area. Basic necessities.
Negatives
The home smells musty. When we arrived, unfortunately, there was a miscommunication, and that home had not been clean after the previous people used it. We were exhausted. We were hoping to come back and just go to bed. Although, they came within 15 minutes and cleaned. Due to this inconvenience, they discounted our stay for $50. The posting says no pets, which is why we picked this place, because I have allergies. Come to find out, they allow animals there. Also, paper thin walls. You can clearly hear the other people in the other unit walking, let alone talking. Which now makes sense why they would say no kids. Lastly, it generally didn’t feel clean. The mattress, pillows, linens, and blankets were well past used.
Get some Moe's for dinner and enjoy it while watching the devil's punchbowl, then walk down to an amazing beach and watch the surfers. Amazing location, very cozy to stay in. Loved every bit of it!
Loved the fire pit and the quite neighborhood. Bring some propane for the bbq.

I and my family enjoyed the location and it was fairly tidy.
It was a great location! The only issue was not realizing it was a condo and the walls are thin. We had new neighbors it felt like almost every other day and some where not very quiet. I would also recommend replacing the dishes and utensils. We ended up buying a few items to have enough for four people. All in all it was nice and the location was awesome.
Me and my friends stayed with one that was Disabled and couldn't get around much or down to the beach we had NO TV COULD NOT GET THE MANGER TO COME FIX IT! for the 3days she was there which is ridiculous that's my only complaint.
Listing needs to be updated. Amenities lists hot tub and there was none. House rules state that children and pets are not allowed but then goes on to say that families and children are welcome and there is a pet fee in the description. Also, firepit and non-existent hot tub are in a communal space with other rentals, and this is not advertised in the description.
A few things would make this place a little nicer like coat hooks and towel racks. The shower rod was held in place by a shim and looked like it could easily come down. Shower faucet makes a high pitched squealing sound because of low water pressure. Kitchen cabinets below the counter smell of mold.
The positives: comfy beds and nice big kitchen space. Lovely, wooded surroundings very close to Otter Rock beach and surfing.
We were able to get in last minute due to a cancelation and boy am I glad we did. Such a cozy place for my husband, myself and our 2 kids (6 & 10). The BBQ was nice to have and grocery stores are 10 minutes away. The beds were amazingly comfortable and short walk to the beaches. The tide pools on the north side of devils punch bowl are a must to explore at low tide. Communication was great. Super clean place! My only advice to owner is to have switch out shower curtain liner because it smells a little musty. (My husband didn't notice it though and said bathroom smelled very clean to him). Will definitely try to rent again next summer. Thank you!

Summer Stay at Surf Haven
We enjoyed staying but a few things needed repair (no towel rack in the main bathroom and the other bathroom had a patched toilet seat). The hottub was empty. We were close to the beach and to amazing tide pools at the Devil's Punchbowl. There were plenty of towels and the kitchen was well supplied.
We loved staying here. Super cute. Decent size rental. Close to Devil's Punch Bowl and the beach access. The only caviat to us renting this again is bed. We stayed in the room closest to the front door and the mattress was very uncomfortable. I also don't think it's a queen size bed I think it's a Full size bed but makes a big difference when your partner is 6'3". If there were bigger, nicer mattresses we would definitely make this our destination of choice.
Our unit was a nicely renovated space and was all very comfortable. The shared backyard firepit was an enjoyable feature. The hot tub is not available due to COVID. Devils Punchbowl is a very short walk down the hill to watch the pounding surf or explore the tide pools!
