Unsliven Bridge Farm - luxury holiday cottage in Yorkshire
Nestling at the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District is Unsliven Bridge Farm. Originally a large Farm House and barn built in the 1600’s.

This property has now been converted into a luxury holiday cottage, retaining its original stone exterior, wooden beams and window seats. With many spacious rooms and plenty of outdoor spaces with enclosed garden and separate meadow, which has little don river meandering through its grounds. It is an ideal cottage for celebrating special occasions.

With South facing gardens you can enjoy the sun all day long, day dream whilst gazing over the flower beds and watching the wildlife visiting the feeders. You will soon have the ducks joining you for dinner, whilst the garden birds sing you a merry tune.

Whether laying on the grass, sitting on the garden furniture or picnic tables in the meadow, cooking on the BBQ or relaxing in the hot tub the garden/meadow has lots to offer for a large family or friends. If the older children require more space for their fun and games, they can venture down into the meadow where both sides of the river can be explored.

Alles was fris en van goede kwaliteit; goede bedden; uitstekend verzorgde keuken inventaris; ruim voldoende parking; nabij natuur en winkels, overvloedige informatie beschikbaar, leuk voor kinderen (er is speelgoed en een prachtige speelweide); de games room werd graag gebruikt. Heerlijke stilte. Vriendelijke eigenaar, zeer service gericht, maar dringt zich niet op.

Very well appointed house with high end fittings. Lisa came to show us how to use the hot tub.

Lots of opportunities for walks and days out on the area. A great reunion with friends. we particularly enjoyed a soak in the hot tub which was checked daily.

Great house for a large gathering

The house was very clean, fresh and well presented. We chose some beds to be singles which made the beds very narrow. The kitchen lacked some basic utensils such as a milk jug. There was not enough cutlery for more than a single course meal when the house was full. However overall we thought the house was great and we enjoyed our stay. The proximity to the reservoir was great for the heat wave we experienced. The house was well equipped for young children with stair gates and a fenced garden for safety for children and dogs. There was plenty of space in and out.

Family celebration

I stayed here with my family to celebrate my 75th birthday. The farmhouse is fitted out to a very high standard and we had a very enjoyable experience. A few observations (Not complaints!). Kitchen roll would be useful and also a coffee machine, though to be fair there were two cafetiere. Also I was surprised that there wasn't any shower gel in the bathrooms. Overall we had a brilliant time and would love to return sometime in the future

One of the best sites we've ever stayed in

Our walking group has stayed at some fabulous properties over the last fifteen years but Unsliven Bridge Farm has to be up there with the very best of them. The rooms are spacious, well-decorated and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and all facilities are first class and spotlessly clean. We self catered,  cooking for ten each evening with ease.    One of the big attractions is the location. It is only minutes away from shops yet the moment one arrives back at the barn, it feels like being in a very rural setting with the surrounding trees, the stream from the reservoir close by, and almost no traffic noise from the surrounding lanes. 

The barn sits in very pleasant grounds which include a hot tub which we took advantage of, and the paved terrace is a real sun-trap.    Nick and Lisa were friendly and very helpful and quickly sorted out a minor problem with a lock.

There are footpaths from the barn out into beautiful scenery, and bus stops close by if you fancy going further afield by public transport.    We would certainly recommend the property and are tempted to return for our next year’s get-together.

Perfect family weekend

We had a fantastic weekend at Unsliven Bridge Farm with family members aged 11-77, plus two dogs. The property was pristine and comfortable, with ample space inside and out for us to be together and apart comfortably. The property had everything we needed for our enjoyment and for catering for 15. There was plenty of activities to do in the locality, and the property was easy to find and accessible. The garden was secure for the dogs, and communication was easy with the owners prior to and during our stay. A top property which I would certainly recommend to others. I rated value for money as 4/5 only because I don't have experience of other properties to compare to.

Lovely stay in a well restored property

Unsliven farm is in a great location. It is minutes from a reservoir with nice walks and only a mile from the local town. The Peak District is 10 minutes away or Sheffield city centre 30 minutes. We loved our stay here. The house has been very well restored and is very comfortable, we didn’t feel cramped despite being a large group. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped and laid out, we catered some large meals without getting on top of each other. The garden is lovely too with a big barbecue area and tables and a huge field for the boys and dogs to run around in! It was also great having dog crates provided, they were very happy in their own space in the utility room and that made packing the car very much easier!

Fabulous property

We had an amazing stay at Unsliven Bridge Farm for a birthday celebration. The property was perfect for 14 of us, with lots of room for relaxing and entertaining. It was very well equipped, and the hot tub and games room were a great bonus. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we spent lots of time sat around the huge kitchen table. The outside area with the river, and meadow (with sheep) added a lovely, calming area to relax in. I would highly recommend this property, and would not hesitate to book again. Thank you!

Excellent stay and amazing hosts

Would highly recommend this gorgeous property. Beautifully decorated and well equipped, there is everything you could want or need. The hosts were very helping, from sending out information before arrival to gritting the drive way (we had snow on arrival) supplying travel cots and dog crates. The games room was excellent for the children- including the big childs too. All the bedrooms were cosy and comfortable. We struggled to find a property with enough bedrooms so this one was perfect for us! Would definitely book again!! Thank you for hosting us and making sure we had the best time!

Fantastic stay

We had a fantastic stay at Unsliven. It was more spacious than the pictures and very well equipped for a group of 13. Plenty of ovens, dishwashers and utensils/crockery. The games room and hot tub were a hit! The rooms were comfy, warm and almost all were ensuite so everyone had their privacy. Location was great, we had guests arrive to the bus stop pretty much right outside the house and to the train station which is only 5 mins drive away. Plenty of space for cars on the drive and plenty of outdoor space and sturdy furniture for sitting outside. We enjoyed a walk around the reservoir next door too. We will certainly book again!

A beautiful property perfect for our family celebration

Unsliven Bridge Farm is an absolutely stunning property. It was perfect to celebrate dad/grandad’s 80th birthday as a family! Beautiful grounds, peaceful and well kept. The rooms are well equiped and, in the main, spacious and airy. The owners / hosts were attentive and where did have a small problem, attended to help out quickly. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

An excellent property for a family celebration

The property suited our family of 15 plus 2 dogs perfectly. King sized beds could be converted to singles. Having 2 sitting rooms was a bonus. The kitchen was well equipped with 3 ovens and plenty of utensils. We were grateful to have 2 dish washers. The hot tub was very popular and the younger members of our group made good use of the games room. We enjoyed being able to walk out of the house across the meadow and along the other side of the river. The location is good with easy access to local walks, a short drive to Penistone Railway station and good roads to places further afield such as the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Quality accommodation and very good service

The quality of the work done to convert the farm into the accommodation it is now is of a very high standard Kitchen appliances were more than capable of cooking and preparing for 14 of us, and the furnishings equally of a high standard. Bedrooms good, though the one without en suite could do with a mirror in it The team that corresponded with us were always available and the information pack was excellent Certainly would recommend and consider YPC again

Fabulous

The cottage (if you can call it that as it is enormous) was beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean and was the best stocked I have ever come across. Heaps of pans, dishes ect which is so so helpful when you are cooking for the hoards! Comfy sofas, beautiful grounds and a hot tub. The owners were friendly, helpful and obviously take great pride in what they do. A real pleasure. Not a lot to do in stocksbridge itself but within half an hours drive there is a wide range of activities. Our teenagers ice skated, roller bladed, rock climbed, swam, bouldered and walked the dog for miles in the lovely countryside around. Highly recommend.

Excellent holiday home for large families

Our second visit here and really loved it. Sixteen of us, age range of 6 months to sixry-three and a dog. Accommodation was exactly what we needed and very comfortable. Lisa was very welcoming and we found so much to do and see in the area

Beautifully renovated property in gorgeous surroundings

This was a BIG family celebration and 17 of us stayed (spread over the Farm and the Barn). Two Beautiful properties, in gorgeous surroundings and both extremely well equipped with everything you could need. We would highly recommend anyone wanting to spend time in either of these properties. Thank You Lisa and Nick
