Serenity (WI27), Silverlake, Dorset

Silverlake is a luxury private estate nestled in an extensive nature reserve, near to the coast in West Dorset. Opportunity for adventure abounds with water sports, a private beach, cycling trails, woodland walks, tennis, table tennis and forest playgrounds available on site.

All our properties here at Silverlake, Dorset have strict rules to ensure a family friendly atmosphere. Our properties must strictly be used for holiday purposes only and not for working in and or using to commute to and from a place of work. Stag and Hen parties are strictly not allowed at any of our properties, and we reserve the right to cancel your booking if you break the estate rules.

Serenity is a striking contemporary lakeside property that boasts ample accommodation for up to 12 guests (max 11 adults and 1 child) and includes a stunning rooftop terrace and full outdoor kitchen.

The spacious accommodation offers 4 impressive king size bedrooms on the first floor, each bedroom complete with its own ensuite. Two of these generous sized rooms benefit from private balconies with views across the Estate. Downstairs there is a family bedroom with king size bed, bunk bed and family bathroom (please note that we recommend only a child in the top bunk). The open plan living area has everything you need, dining space for all the family, a well equipped modern kitchen and cosy seating in front of the fire.

This beautifully curated home offers extra entertaining space on the private roof terrace, boasting panoramic views of the Estate and a full outdoor kitchen including gas BBQ and dishwasher. Access is made easy with a driveway directly outside the property for several cars.

Access to the activity equipment is included with this property, offering plenty to do while staying at Silverlake. Inclusive equipment hire includes bikes and water equipment such as paddleboards, kayaks and canoes, subject to availability. Also on site is a luxury spa offering a variety of holistic and beauty treatments and a takeaway pizza shack offering pizza and tapas. Opening hours can vary for both depending on the season.

Please note that some properties nearby and on the wider estate are undergoing construction. So whilst this property is fully completed, bookings for this property are made on the understanding that you will see and hear construction, machinery and workers on or around the island between 0730 and 1800, Monday to Friday and 0800 to 1300, Saturday. Please do abide by any signage relating to construction areas. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with a member of the Habitat Escapes Team.

This property is pet friendly, please notify us of your 4-legged companion when booking as there is a small surcharge for pets.

The property is self-catered. The house is fully equipped with cutlery and crockery. Essentials for your first night, such as bin liners, dishwasher tablets and basic cleaning supplies are provided for you. Bed linen, hand and bath towels are also provided, if you suffer from allergies please contact the office for further information.

Travel cot and highchair available for £10, subject to availability. Please advise at the time of booking. Guest to provide their own linen and mattress for a travel cot.

Silverlake get together

We stayed at silverlake to celebrate 2 significant birthdays. We needed a large property with plenty of bathrooms, Serenity did not disappoint on this front. The property is well situated over looking the lake and was well smin very good condition

Leaking ceiling

Unfortunately during our stay the shower in one of the rooms flooded one entire room and leaked through the ceiling onto the sofa. It was clear this isn't the first time it has happened as the door is warped and you can see where they have tried to fix it before. I notified the out of hours person but they didn't appear to seem surprised, I called twice, first to notify the flooded room and then to notify about the ceiling. I called at 6am and I believe a maintenance person came out eventually around half ten however we had left the property. They did not contact me or try to come to the property again, we refrained from using that shower. The showers in the other rooms are extremely dangerous, the water does not drain fast enough so there is puddle of water on the floor and it is very slippery. The heating in the property is set to come on at certain times 22-24 degrees which meant waking up and feeling like you were in a sauna. We were also notified two weeks before our stay that the pool was closing the weekend we were there, we were given the option to change the weekend however due to the late notice we couldn't move. We were given £100 to spend at the terrace bar. We were asked to pre order food at the terrace bar which we did, it took well over an hour for the food to arrive and one meal was missing. We were still able to enjoy the weekend with Weymouth 20 minutes down the road and the spa treatments were lovely however I wouldn't stay in this property again.
