Very comfortable house for my friends and I on a short ice fishing trip. House was warm and cozy and 0 weather and 35 mph winds! Great neighborhood close to restaurants and we had pizza delivered one night.

Glad to hear you guys enjoyed the place. Hope you got a lot of fish! Thanks.
Lovely lake house that had lots of room for everyone!
Very comfortable, lots of space and well stocked kitchen! An extra frig and sink in the main living area was a bonus-def a place we hope to visit again!
16 of us spent 3 days here and it was perfect. The size of the house, the location, and the communication with the property owner was top notch. It was everything we expected and more.

So happy to hear this. Please come back again sometime! Thanks
Plenty of seating room in dining room and living room. Bedrooms have a quaint cottagey feel. Great spot to see sunsets on lake, just a short walk from rental.
House was located in perfect area, also playgrounds, restaurants and ice cream shops were within walking distance.
Something for everyone.
Wish we could do this yearly

'Sounds like a fun weekend, glad everything was to your liking. Thanks.
This place is very close to the beach and is large enough for everyone to enjoy themselves. Kitchen utensils could be upgraded (can opener did not work, cutting knives could be better, but pans and bowls were sufficient to prepare meals). Would stay again.

So glad the place worked out for your family and we'll make sure to get those knives and can opener replaced shortly. Thanks again.
Had a great stay, place was clean as expected. They delivered everything we expected. The only observation was the out door space. It was not usable due to rain and insects. Request to add covers on BBQ and seating area benches. Else really enjoyed every moments of out stay. Very close to waters less than 3 mins walk. Will definitely recommend this place. Thanks a lot Ted.

Very relaxing
Its a beautiful property from inside and its right on the beach . We used to sit outside and can watch kids playing on beach. Bathrooms were clean amd kitchen was equipped with all kind of kitchen necessities. The only reason I took away one star was outdoor maintenance. Outdoor was not cleaned and full of spider webs. With outdoor cleaned, this is an amazing property . Would love to come back.

Thanks for the kind words about the home and its cleanliness. Unfortunately with the location right on the beach spiders and their webs will always be an issue. The extermination service we use is wonderful at keeping them out of the house though no house in that area is fully immune to nature with that vast water source (Lake) so close. Nonetheless, we are working with the exterminator and our maintenance team to see what other steps can be taken outside to keep them at bay as best we can. Thanks again.
The house itself was nice and the location was great for our needs. It was comfortable, clean and well stocked.
The owner was responsive.
The late check in (5:00 pm) was the worst thing about this rental and a real pain. I Requested a normal check in time of 3 and was told no. Bringing sheets and towels was a little odd too.
I would recommend this house as long as you are ok with the check in time and supplying towels and sheets.

So glad you enjoyed yourselves in the Beach House. Unfortunately we can only grant early arrival on days when another guest is not checking out that same morning as was the case with you. As for the sheets and towels, we routinely to evaluate how to add that service consistently. Yet without local linen/laundry companies we’ve opted to continue to offer the lower rent in exchange for guests bringing their own such items. We know it might not work for everyone but hopefully the Beach House’s size, upgrades and location make it all worthwhile. Thanks.
This rental house is perfect for a large group. The spacious living room with the fireplace gave us plenty of space to socialize and hold discussions as a group while maintaining a sense of coziness. I love how practical the house is set up with 3 coffee makers, 2 fridges, 3 bathrooms, and 2 large tables for dining. Parking was a little bit of an issue as we had a large group and in the winter you can't park on the sand/snow. Thankfully, the municipal parking lot is just around the corner.

Family Easter
This home was perfect for our holiday weekend. The house was spacious enough to accommodate our group of 12. There was room for everyone to have a bed as well as plenty of room for board games and puzzles (provided by the owner). The weather was cold and rainy so we were unable to enjoy the outside attractions close to the house but we did enjoy a cozy fire indoors. The seating and kitchen were perfect as we cooked Easter dinner (turkey, ham and all the fixin's) for some local older family members that came to see us. The owners were always prompt and helpful with our questions. We plan to visit again for a longer period of time when the weather hopefully cooperates a little better. A great home in a great location!

So glad it worked out for your family in spite of the weather. Thanks!
This rental is in a great location. The beach is great and the management is very responsive. That said it is very "campy". We were happy that it was clean and there wasn't any discernable mold but it is very much like camping. We were instructed to bring all our own sheets and toiletries which we did but it was a hassle. We are big cooks and the kitchen was very much lacking. We also had the big Canadian fires blow in (which wasn't anyone's fault) but without central air, we chose to leave a day early. The rental did meet our needs of staying close to family and the location is quite good. The windows, screens and outdoor patio could use a lot of TLC but the housekeeping staff did a good job.

We’re happy to hear that you liked the cleanliness, location and management for the Beach House. Sorry you left a day early due to the Canadian fires as the wind shifted that day and by early afternoon it had all cleared out turning into a beautiful day. On the sheets and toiletries, you agreed to bring your own during the initial booking process so we would have assumed that was acceptable. On the kitchen we’d love some more detail about your concerns as that kitchen was gutted and remodeled about 5 years ago; offers all modern stainless appliances, granite counters, icemaker, dishwasher, microwave and it is fully stocked with every imaginable pot, pan, blender, dishes and so much more. If we knew of anything missing we would surely add it. And as for some of the other issues you mention, portions of the Beach House are over 100 years old and since we bought it 6 years ago we have been routinely replacing and improving as time and budget permits. Our work has included a full remodel of 2 bathrooms and kitchen, all new paint throughout, many new windows, blinds & light fixtures, added an all new-expanded driveway, lots of new furnishings, upgraded electric to accommodate more air-conditioners, added a new furnace, insulation and bedroom heat upgrades, and so much more. We always welcome suggestions as we intend to continue to improve the home each year. Thank you.

The perfect house for an amazing vacation!
Stayed at this lovely house with 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 8, 7, 7, and 1). First off, the location is absolutely perfect. The beach is right outside the front door and the water was fantastic all week. It's also right beside the beach park so the kids loved being able to go play on the playground whenever they wanted. The house is also only 45 minutes away from Rochester so we gave the kids a change of pace by going to Seabreeze Amusement Park one day and then the Strong National Museum of Play another day. The other 4 days were spent at the beach.
The house itself has a great layout and was in perfect shape. It has 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor and 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor. The bedrooms on the 1st floor are towards the back of the house in their own little nook so that was actually perfect for us because of how quiet it was for our 1 year old. We would put her down for a nap or at bedtime and the other kids could be as loud as they wanted in the main part of the house without waking her up. The 8 of us fit very comfortably in the house and we probably have been able to fit another 4-6 people with us comfortably.
Overall there isn't a single bad thing I can say about this house or the location. It was the perfect vacation and we will absolutely be staying here again next year!

So glad you all enjoyed yourselves, thanks for the kind words and we look forward to your return next year.
If you are looking for perfect rental property itself, you may be a little disappointed.
You can not use the coffee maker and microwave at same time because the circuit breaker may trip. The plumbing system is inadequate, especially for the 16 people this property can house; across the three bathrooms and the kitchen, you can only use one water source (faucet, shower, toilet, etc.) at a time. You may find cobwebs in the corners here and there. The window AC unit in the living room trips breaker - you may have to use an extension cord to plug it into the other electrical outlet. Deck door knob does not work as it should.
Although cleaning services could improve, we realize that given challenging times we are living in, it may be hard to keep things running smooth.
However, if you are looking for the perfect place to make wonderful memories and see breathtaking sunsets, if you are looking for a place to relax your body and mind, if you are looking for beach walks and beautiful sunrises, this is the place to be. The beach view from the living room and upstairs bedroom is absolutely amazing - pictures just don't do it justice.
In despite of some imperfections, i would give this cottage six out of five stars for the overall experience and would definitely return.
Check in and check out process was simple and management was friendly.

Hi Sandra, so glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves at the Beach House, and sorry for those issues you mentioned. Parts of that home are over 100 years old, so it continues to be a work in progress as we routinely complete renovations and upgrades each winter. Some of the items noted are small and can be addressed quickly by our maintenance team, and the larger items will be put into our long-term plans so hopefully each year you return you'll see the continued progress. Thanks again.
We traveled from as far as Georgia to Vermont to this house for our niece's wedding. There were 12 staying at the house for various lengths of time. But we gathered at least 20. Most of us haven't seen each other since COVID began. It was great hanging out of the deck in view of the beach. A great time was had by all.

Nice place to spend a few days
Sodus Point in general is a very nice quiest place to get away.
Stayed with a group for a week. We enjoyed sitting by the fire, eating meals together and attending an online workshop together. Wifi worked well. Fireplace was excellent. It was surprisingly delightful to walk along the frozen, snowy beach in the winter time. The house was clean and in good order. No issues. Everything went smoothly and propertly manager was easier to reach. Would definitely do this again.

About the host
Hosted by Ted Welter
My name is Ted Welter, and my wife Jackie and I love the Point. This is our 4th vacation home here. We sold one but still have the other 3 available for rent. If our Beach House doesn't fit your needs please let us know and we'll be happy to tell you about the other 2.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this large house and fantastic location several years ago when we rented it. In 2017 we got the opportunity to purchase it and jumped as we know this is one of the best locations at the Point and the only 6-bedroom, 3-bath beach rental home in the area.
What makes this property unique
Location, location, location -- plus the 6 bedrooms and huge great room.
