Perfect home for our stay

First time out whole family has been together in years and it was perfect. We had a full house but it never felt crowded. Was a short walk to the river. We loved our stay and will be back.

Perfect getaway for families!

If you’re looking for a private getaway for your family, look no further! Easy access to the river, coffee on the porch counting the endless deer, while feeling secluded from everyone around! We will definitely be returning next year!

Always a Pleasure

This house has always been the perfect place for my family's visit to the Frio. It's right next to a general store, close to the river and has all the amenities that we need. It's a beautiful place!

Great house, great location

The house is awesome and spacious, check in was easy and quick and we had zero issues with the home. We did a few day trips and at night we would make a nice fire and relax outside very peaceful and secluded. Definitely will be back, highly recommended

Much needed get-away

Very roomy , clean & had everything we needed . I over packed not knowing what to expect, but this place has it all ! There were 12 of us & we were very comfortable & happy with our stay . We will stay here again ! Highly recommend 😊

Great Location

The check-in process was wonderful and Maggie was great getting us all set. The property was perfect for a quiet stay during the off-season and we really liked that the house was off the main road a few hundred feet. So you felt secluded. We also liked the corner store was within walking distance and we walked to the river the day we got there. Excellent spot for a smaller group.

Property was well maintained and quiet

The sleeping arrangements were exactly what they are advertised to be. The description says sleeps 17 however the couch does not fold out into a bed so if you include the couch and loveseat in the count there’s 16 places but doubling up every bed except for the twins. Maggie was wonderful!!!

Lindsey, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope you come back and stay with us again. I just noticed that in your review you state that the house says it sleeps 17. The house's description says it sleeps 14 however, VRBO requires we put a maximum allowed occupancy on the listing and on certain occasions we allow people to bring a few extra guests. I am sorry if the listing was misleading and would like to avoid any confusion for future guests. If you have any suggestions ,please let me know.

Float trip for Floridians

House is very nice. I really liked that it was not right on the road. Had deer in the yard every day and sitting out on the porch listening to the birds was such a nice start to the day. House nicely furnished and well equipped kitchen. Would certainly rent this property again. If Frio had been running deeper, the trip would have been perfect!!

Hideaway Gem

We were looking for a short getaway for just our immediate family that was in a private location but not too far from conveniences. This hideaway did not disappoint! The river is not too far away and the free parking passes included were helpful. Restaurants, bars and even an ice cream spot were just a few minutes drive away. Everything needed to stay-in and fix a complete meal were right there on hand, even a bar-b-que pit. Our favorite was the large fire-pit. Recommend you bring lots of firewood (its available to be purchased at the near by ice-houses, but its expensive around there). Would definitely stay here again!!!

The cabin was perfect for my 13 member family

The cabin was cozy and clean. It could use more seating outside and in the living area. My family had to sit on the floor or on the bench from the dining room because the living area only seated 6 comfortably. There are no pillows provided so bring your own pillows, there are no towels anywhere not even in the kitchen. No closets either. Other than those problems this was an o-k stay for me and my family.

Marjori, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay we just wanted to take the time to address the issues mentioned in your review.... The open concept floor plan of this property provides people the ability to move freely from the kitchen to the dining room and on to the living area. The many tables and chairs provided in between would actually seat 18 people. While we understand that not all the seating is in the living area we have done our best with the space provided to accommodate large groups. I have checked with our cleaning staff and they assured me that there are, in fact, kitchen towels in one of the drawers in the kitchen at all times. Also there is a large closet in the upstairs right hand bedroom and while it is, in fact, the only closet in the house we have made sure to try to accommodate peoples personal belongings by having a dresser or chest in each room. As far the pillows, in all of the paperwork we provide ahead of your stay it states that you must bring all bed linens, pillow, and bath towels.

Unsafe and no lock for doors

Well the lock to the side door was broken and being that we had young children is wasn’t safe. Lite of little things broken from lamps to drawers. The dryer wasn’t working so therefore we couldn’t use it. The river was the best part. Just unsafe at night.

Priscilla, Thank you for your feedback for this property. It is one of our most popular properties. Yes, we agree, that it was very unfortunate that the door lock had broken not long before you came and it was on "special order". Our team member who checked you in on July 11 pointed this out to you at check in. We have since added an extra dead bolt so that door is secure. The lamp upstairs was broken [by the tenants before you] and has been replaced.... over/under washer/dryer is on back order and we are still waiting for it to arrive. A rush of things all at the same time ... again, please accept our apologies and know that customer satisfaction is one of our major goals. The river is always a positive draw for our guests. A place to rest.

My family and friends were in Uvalde for a dove hunting weekend and needed lodging. We hunted in the morning and afternoon which didn't leave us much time for local activities. The house was just the right size for our group and very accommodating.

Frio River Getaway

Don’t trust these folks

Don’t trust this property. I received a cancellation on the same morning as my reservation. The car was packed and the kids were in looking forward to fun on spring break. We were left high and dry with no explanation and no place to stay. You don’t get to do “do overs” when cancelled on this late. You’ve been warned if you book this and it happens to you.
