It is located high up near the Chianti Senese, where the panorama is 360 degrees, encompassing multiple valleys dotted with farmhouses, villages, and castles at night. Beneath the arch of the ancient walls, there is a wonderful terrace overlooking Siena and its splendid sunsets and starry nights, just steps from the welcoming Contadino apartment with its comfortable spaces, adjacent to the shared green areas and the harmonious swimming pool with its beautiful view.
Staying in this tiny village and castle, perched 500 meters above sea level, will captivate and captivate those who love nature, its unique, harmonious colors, and its silence.Rapale is a central base in Tuscany for visiting the nearby art cities with their museums and history: Siena, Monteriggioni, Arezzo, Florence, Pienza, Montepulciano, Cortona, the wonderful Val d'Orcia, and many other charming little villages to visit. It's also close to Umbria, Assisi and Perugia, and Lake Trasimeno with its cycling routes. Tuscany is rich in traditions and ancient events such as the Palio in Siena's Piazza del Campo, the Saracen Joust in Arezzo's Piazza Grande, and the Costumed Football Tournament in Florence's Piazza Santa Croce. It's an excellent starting point for excursions along green dirt roads to nearby destinations by bike, on foot, or on horseback (there's a riding stable just 4 km from Rapale). These include ancient churches, monasteries, and small chapels, where you'll find taverns and restaurants serving authentic dishes and exquisite wines from Chianti, Montalcino, and Montepulciano. Wine tastings are available here and elsewhere.It is just minutes from the ancient sulfur springs of Rapolano Terme, Terme San Giovanni, and Terme Antica Querciolaia.
Rapale can be reached by car from the A1 Autostrada del Sole, exiting at Valdarno (30 minutes), or from the Siena/Perugia highway, exiting at Colonna del Grillo (10 minutes).
Siena is just 35 minutes away, Arezzo 45 minutes, Florence 1 hour, Perugia 1 hour, and Rome 2.5 hours.
