Staying in San Sano at Chucks was very beautiful and peaceful.Chuck and the management team were great to deal with and very helpful. I was given the advice to have a car but managed with taking the bus and Taxi. because you’re not close to the city, I would advise to shop for anything that you need before arriving as there are no shops close. The restaurant across the street was very nice. I would definitely recommend this beautiful little piece of Heaven.

Great spot to visit Tuscany

The people of the San Sano village are what makes this place so special. We were impressed by those that helped us to check-in, the restaurant and shop less than 50' away was fantastic!

Wonderful!

We loved this property! It was clean and spacious and the location was splendid. The host was great, providing helpful information about the surrounding area and suggestions of things to do during our stay in San Sano. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location

The property was in an excellent location to allow you to really explore the area. The host gave great recommendations and advice on what to do and see. It was fabulous having access to the pool as it was particularly hot during our stay. Would highly recommend this property.

Best Location to explore Tuscany

We have frequently stayed in Tuscany and this was by far the best location and nicest Villa that we have stayed in. Chuck was very accommodating and responded to all our needs in a timely manor, we highly recommend this location and we will return.

Location is fantastic - great small village and restaurant across the road is excellent. Some suggestions are that the property is acceptable but the bedding (2nd bedroom was used only) needs renewal - pillows (under the pillowcase) are stained and mattress is close to the end of its use-by date. Also it would be helpful to have some laundry & cleaning materials - including insect repellant. The website says clothes drier but it’s a rack, which is fine. The pool was nice.Would I stay here again? Yes.

Lovely Village Stay

This is a beautiful village with a highly regarded restaurant right in front to enjoy either for lunch or dinner. We had dinner one night and it was remarkable. The views from the window and the star gazing was beautiful. It was still warm enough to take a dip in the pool surrounded by vineyards. Honestly this region has to be experienced in person to understand the beauty and simplicity of what a remarkable destination this is. My husband mentioned that the apartment was nicer than what he thought.

Rural location with pool

Need a car as rural area. Apartment overall ok but needs some TLC. Poor kitchen design as lots of places to bang your head, quite a few issues with lights, boiler, tv and toaster but property management were very quick to solve everything. Nice pool but pool area needed some attention as most of sun beds were broken. Couldn’t work out which garden area belonged to apartment. Restaurant opposite quite nice. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous part of Tuscany!

The hamlet is quaint, quiet and very pleasant. With the exception of some renovation noise from below, all was well. We have stayed in several other properties and all were appointed with modest, but common necessities like sugar, salt, pepper, laundry soap(when applicable) and often other food items such as coffee/juice to make our stay more pleasant. Don't expect as much here, but there is a market a short drive away. The proximity to other places to visit, the views and surrounding area made up for it. We gave the communication with the property manager a 3 because the tv did not work the entire time we were there, it was difficult to communicate and responses were not timely. Otherwise we loved the neighbors, the hamlet and the accommodations.

Rustic location in Chianti

San Sano is deep in Chianti country. A pleasant apartment on an upper floor of a commune of properties. Very rural Italian and authentic. Lovely swimming pool and of course miles and miles of vineyards and lots of twisty hilly roads. Definitely a holiday destination for those that want a touch of rural Chianti. Countryside abounds with charming hilltop villages and places to eat. Opposite the apartment is the Grotto della Rana - a sweet, family-run restaurant serving "Cucina Typica" at lunch and dinner. The staff are lovely and when the proprietor does not understand English he quickly summons his daughter to translate. The wine ... of course ... is beautiful (although reasonably priced). Excellent contact with the host and the management company who were responsive to questions and issues before and during the trip. Overall an excellent apartment who want a touch of authentic Chianti.

A little bit of Heaven

We just loved this place. Chuck was easy to get hold off if needed . The apartment was just as described, two bedrooms with lovely comfortable beds with beautiful cotton linen, everything you needed in the kitchen with a washing machine and large fridge.We spent a lot of time on the balcony, although it wasn’t very big, we still managed to have meals and drinks up there, and what a view 🤩 , just picture perfect. We used the restaurant across the small road a couple of times , but also Ristorante Malborghetto in Lecchi about 5 minutes drive away, which was very very nice, I would advise to book as it was busy.we booked online and the owner was very quick to respond. We stopped at the Coop in Radda on the way to the apartment, its not big but has everything you would really need, but it does close between 1pm and 4pm. Radda was our nearest village and a lovely place, we went a couple of times , it has a few bars and restaurants, and we even managed to see a wedding 👰‍♀️ We used the swimming pool most days, which was lovely surrounded by vine yards,. What makes this place special is the quietness of the village, we will definitely be back

A Wonderful Adventure!

The apartment in San Sano was a great place for my husband and I to spend our 25th wedding anniversary! The apartment was clean, comfortable and the views from the kitchen/living area were beautiful! We spent a few days driving to local wineries which, very often, were on properties of monasteries or castles. We sampled a lot of Chianti Classico and some Chianti Colli Senesi. We also drove to Siena and San Gimignano for a day. If you prefer white wine, San Gimignano is in an area that grows Vernaccia, a white varietal of grape. Radda was a small nearby town that was also a picturesque place to visit. The day of our anniversary, we went to a thermal spa, Terme San Giovanni, that Chuck recommended. We enjoyed bathing, sunning ourselves, and getting a message. I would also second Chuck's recommendation on eating at Ristorante Malborghetto in Lecchi. During our stay, we did have record high temperatures (102-104 degrees) and there is no air conditioning in the apartment. We did request and receive a fan from the managing agency. The heat did not in any way diminish our enjoyment of the area. If you have never experienced Tuscany, I would highly recommend staying here and be prepared for a wonderful adventure!!

I always love this, but sometimes, Americans are a little shy of the European ways! BRAVO! Thank you about the mention of temperature. Although there is no AC in the apartment, the night time cool air and fans are adequate to enjoy all San Sano has to offer, even with record high temperatures. San Sano Excellence

Our group of 4 senior adults spent 12 wonderful days in San Sano, using the apartment there as a base to travel to all parts of Tuscany. Even though illness and injury curtailed our pre-planned itinerary, the apartment was a sanctuary of quiet and peacefulness. The apartment looked exactly like the pictures. The kitchen was well furnished with everything we needed. All the rooms were comfortable and clean. The view from the windows was remarkable and typically Tuscan. We enjoyed each day. One of the highlights was cooking class with Simone at Restaurante Malborghetto in Lecchi. He is a wonderful teacher and very personable man. We all enjoyed the time there, even went back on our last night to eat at his restaurant. Before you go to Tuscany, check if there are any towns holding a festival. We went to Pienza's Cheese Festival and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Even watched a flag tossing event. Castellina is a small town not often mentioned in tourist books, worth a trip for the view and food. We received plenty of information from the owner of this apartment prior to arriving and in the apartment itself. He made reservations for us and gave us pages of things to see & do. He was very helpful and interested in our plans. Would we visit again? Definitely!

Ha sido una gran suerte encontrar este apartamento en un lugar pequeño pero muy hermoso en el corazón de la Toscana. Tuvimos instrucciones precisas para la llegada y todo resultó según lo convenido. Nuestra estancia en el apartamento ha sido una grata experiencia. La casa con sus techos altísimos y su decoración tradicional y al mismo tiempo funcional, nos ha encantado. Todas las estancias están perfectamente equipadas con todas las comodidades tanto en cocina-sala, baños como en las habitaciones. Además, teníamos acceso a la piscina con hamacas, que es un plus en la época de verano. Las vistas hermosas desde las estancias, la tranquilidad que se respira y el canto del gallo al amanecer quedará en nuestro recuerdo.San Sano es una pequeña aldea muy tranquila con calles y casas cuidadas en medio de las haciendas de viñedos. Tiene un restaurante con terraza muy conocido en la zona para cenar por las noches, justo en frente del apartamento, con una pequeña tienda anexa; también hay posibilidad de degustar vinos o de una comida ligera en el agroturismo cercano. Da gusto pasear por los rincones de San Sano y admirar la belleza del lugar. Desde San Sano se accede por los caminos ondulantes de la Toscana en un radio pequeño a ciudades como Siena, pequeños pueblos como Colle Val d'Elsa, San Gimignano, castillos como el de Brolio y un sinfín de destinos que bien valen una visita. Bel endroit

Nous avons beaucoup appréciés ce petit coin de la Toscane. Le village est sympathique et le restaurant Grotta de la Rana juste en face est très apprécié aussi. L'appartement est spacieux. Il y a quelques carpettes qui pourraient être envelés, ça améliorait la qualité de l'air. En résumé, nous avons bien aimé notre séjour dans cet hébergement.

Beautiful views, beautiful town

Lovely, clean apartment away from the tourist chaos you find elsewhere in Tuscany. San sano is such a beautiful town and the apartment is spacious and well kept. Great hot water and bathtub for relaxation. If you’re staying a few days or more you’ll want to ensure you bring some extra basic supplies like oil, sugar, toilet paper etc

Erholung pur

Wir hatten eine sehr erholsamme Woche im Chianti Gebiet. Die Wohnung entspricht der Beschreibung. Zum wandern durch Eichenwald und Weinfelder kann man gleich vor der Haustür loslaufen.

Great place to stay! Quiet and everything you want from a stay in Tuscany

The villa is on a condominium but it certainly has the privacy that you want. The villa has everything you need and Chuck sent us a detailed list of what to do in the area. Checking in was easy and the management team are very helpful. We were able to visit a lot of cities and towns nearby and then head home to the quiet San Sano and relax by the pool. There is a BBQ area that is just for guests of the villa. There was a little restaurant literally across the road although we only dined there once. You need to travel out to bigger towns for a decent shop/supermarket but apart from that, you certainly won't be disappointed staying here. I certainly think we will return in the future.

A lovely oasis

We had an excellent stay at Chuck’s property. The village of San Sano is both immaculately kept and visually stunning. Beds are comfortable, and pool is wonderful. Be sure to visit the restaurant across the street - reservations needed for summer supper. A stunning drive in and around d Tuscany. Make sure you get groceries as the location is not super close to a grocery store etc. Would absolutely stay again, for a quiet retreat.

Schönes Appartement in wunderschöner Lage

Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Einige Fotos könnten ein Update vertragen. Uns fehlten Moskitonetze an den Fenstern. Sehr lobenswert dass der Pool mit Salzwasser betrieben wird. Unbedingt der Pizza Empfehlung bei Pizza Pie in Radda folgen. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.
