After holding tight through COVID this past year, this was an awesome place to stay, fish, tour and relax! Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The cottage was very clean and neat. The appliances, cooking utensils, outdoor grill and boat hoist made our stay fantastic! We didn’t need to provide anything but our food...by far, the best place we have stayed for what we wanted!

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for taking excellent care of Pine Knot. It was very nice to meet you both.
Pine Knott Cottage was perfect for our family of 4. Jan and Karyl were great to deal with, helpful if needed but otherwise left us alone. The boat hoist was great to have and the location on Lake Skekemog with easy access to the rest of the chain was just what we were looking for.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for taking good care of Pine Knot.
Another wonderful stay at this lovely cottage on beautiful Lake Skegamog !
Cottage is CLEAN. Owners are the nicest hosts you’ll find !
The boat hoist is an excellent option if you have a boat ! Had a wonderful time. So wonderful we’ll be back again in July !!!
The cottage is a very cozy, comfortable and clean cottage with all the essentials. The boat lift was a great amenity to the property as it allowed our boat to be steady just out of the water and made it much easier for my parents to be able to get on and off the boat during our stay. Karyl and Jan are very nice people and helpful with any questions we had and even helpful with returning stuff we forgot at at the collage.

We are glad you had a good week at Pine Knot. It was nice to meet you, and we appreciate that you took very good care of the cottage.
The location was amazing the beds were horrible need to definitely be replaced and the bunk bed situation was not good for adults. For what we paid I would think updating the furniture, tv was a 19in. I will give thumbs up for the outside are bbq, fire pit lake was awesome.

Dear Cheri,
We are sorry that Pine Knot did not meet your expectations. We will review the pictures to make sure they accurately depict the cottage.
We have never had any complaints. In fact, 31 out 33 reviews have been 5's.

Highly reccomend, perfect for family of 4 or more
No surprises, ad accurately describes the property. Perfect for family of 4, or one or two more if you utilize the futon and couch. Kitchen has updated appliances and a coffee maker. Cottage owners were tremendous, they assisted us with local knowledge on nearby attractions, fishing tips, and boat maintenance which I unfortunately needed. Fishing was excellent for pike and smallmouth bass, although a few days were too windy to take my small boat out on the rough lake. While there, we did see deer, mink, turtles, loons and bald eagles. The only downside was that they don't allow campfires, which my kids love.

This year we are providing a stand alone fire ring. Now you will be able to fix smores.:)
My husband, our two young boys and I loved our stay. We went on Labor Day weekend, but were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of this lake, while still having easy access to the fun and exciting Torch and Elk lakes. The hosts were wonderful and helpful. They were available when needed but also gave us our space.
The boys spent hours fishing off the dock and swimming in the clean lake (rocky near the shore, but sandy further out). We don't have a boat, but the hosts recommended many places for a daily rental. Easy access to the boat launch or to rental places through the chain of lakes.
We loved playing in the large yard and s'mores by the campfire at night. Our family also enjoyed the quick access to Belaire and Traverse City for pizza night and brewery visits.
There were some bugs in the house, but that is expected at a northern Michigan lakeside retreat. Overall, I would recommend this property to all of my family and friends!

It was very nice for us to meet your family. Thank you for taking excellent care of Pine Knot!
Our family had an amazing time at this cabin on the lake. We used the boat ramp down the street and the driveway accommodated the truck and trailer. The cabin is so clean and has everything you need. The water behind the cabin is clear and you can see all kinds of wildlife. Loved watching the Eagle fish in the mornings. My son forgot something and the host mail him a package. Such a wonderful stay.
Jan & Karyl are top notch property owners! We enjoyed our stay at Pine Knot and will likely stay again! Location, amenities and overall welcoming atmosphere are 100%!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful property!
Everything was perfect! Beautiful lake, comfortable and safe house/area! Loved being able to run while I was there and it was very close to GLEF
Easy drive to Traverse City
Jan and Karyl were great! The cottage was perfect for our family of four. The mini split made it very comfortable. Great location would definitely rent again!
My partner, sons, and I enjoyed our stay. It was early June, and cold, so we didn't do any swimming. The guys fished (and caught a bass). We went through the river to Torch Lake, which is crystal clear. Getting to the river was a little difficult with all the fallen logs/trees. Some fishermen guided us through.
Traverse City is close by, and we spent a day there, checked out The Village.
The owners are very nice. They are next door. They helped us figure out the boat hoist, and even mailed me some kitchen stuff that I'd left behind.
Fall color tour get away. Great spot to hit the road early to explore the norther color changes. Cozy cottage is exactly what it is. If you like to fish this is a great spot as well. Easy access to main roads and close many nice towns. Would do this again next week if I could.
Karyl & Jan were great! The only thing that surprised us was that there isn't a separate dock for the rental when we had two boats. But they were awesome and let us beach the pontoon in their yard. The lift is a nice addition to the rental. Thank you again for sharing your home with us.

We're sorry you weren't aware that Pine Knot shares our dock. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. We added clarification to our description. Jan and Karyl
Jan and Karyl welcomes us into their cabin with open arms. The location was perfect for being able to access all 3 lakes. The house was the perfect size for our family of 4 and just a short walk to the boat launch. Having the dock was a huge plus! The only issue we had were some ants but that seems to be pretty normal near water.
We are already talking about when we can go back!

Thank you for taking good care of Pine Knot. We're glad you had a good time. Sorry, you had to deal with those pesky ants. The perimeter of the house has been treated with environmentally approved products, but ants seem to be difficult to irradicate.
