Château with infinity pool on the Dordogne river

Le Clos Castaing. In a region known for its gastronomy, wine and tourism, come and spend a great family vacation in our family property. Calm and relaxing setting, 1 hour from Bordeaux airport and 20km from the magnificent village of St-Emilion, classified by UNESCO

Large park on 2 hectares, with heated swimming pool, overflowing on the Dordogne, open from May to October, its orchard and vineyards, bikes, canoe and kayaks available for excursions on the Dordogne, beach of Lac de la Caddy at 10 min .

The 350m2 of our 11-room chateau is made up as follows:

- Large fully equipped kitchen
- Large lounge
- Dining room
- Library - games room - billiards
- Laundry room with washing machine and dryer
1st floor
- 3 bedrooms with river view, equipped with a large bed and private bathroom (shower or bath and sink)
- 1 children's room overlooking the park, equipped with 4 single beds
2nd Floor
- The suite, large room with a large bed, small living room, bathroom with jacuzzi bath

Equipped terrace and barbecue available

The castle is fully equipped to accommodate 12 people (dishes, linens, sheets, etc.). The guards on site will take care of welcoming you and offer some 'à la carte' services such as breakfast, babysitting, etc.

Castle rental possible all year round, minimum 4 days or weekly, on request you can rent a room for a few days, for example a romantic weekend.

Amazing house in a great location

Wonderful house and food

We stayed here with 8 adults and 3 children and it was the perfect holiday. The house has all the amenities needed to entertain children and adults alike and the food provided by Collete was delicious!

Amazing castle!

We enjoyed our stay at Clos Castaign very much. Amazing place! The pool, the river and the warm welcome by Colette made our stay even more enjoyable. The place is very well equiped. We even had a candlelight dinner in the diningroom!

Our trip to the Clos

What a place! Collette and Karl were magnificent!! We visited with our 3 children (6 Months, 3 & 5) we spread out in Chateau for the week and had everything we needed meaning we could travel lighter driving from the UK. Beautiful views all around and fantastic area.

Incredibly special place to stay

From my first inquiring about this property almost a year ago to staying and then departing - Everything has been east, accurate and unique. I have Stayz home in Australia and honestly, Francois (host) and Colette and Karl (housekeeper) were all wonderful. Stay here - don’t hesitate.

Lovely renovated Chateau

Very glamorous old world style, renovated very well. The modern upgrades to bathrooms and kitchen are good. The infinity pool and views are the best. Very quiet property with lovely expansive gardens. The only downside was lounge and outside furniture was not very comfortable. Otherwise we found it and the location very good. Would be very nice with a group.

Amazing Chateau on the Dordogne

We loved our stay at Clos Castaing! We were in the area for my daughter's wedding in nearby Saint-Vincent-de-Pertignas and this chateau was perfect for my family during the week leading up to the wedding. We were 8 adults with more than enough space to relax and enjoy all the property had to offer, while also preparing for the wedding. The infinity pool was very appreciated during the heatwave all week. We used the kayaks provided on the lovely Dordogne, with access right from the yard. Colette, the caretaker, was quick to reply to our questions and requests. She was very friendly and helpful. The house was well stocked with essentials. It was thoughtfully and beautifully renovated and it was fun to look through the book they provided that documented the renovation project. The river view from the bedroom windows is just spectacular! Such a joy to wake up to that each morning. The only downside for us was the lack of screens on the windows. Being on the river there were a lot of mosquitos which made it impossible to keep the windows open at night to take advantage of the river breezes. (When asked, Colette did immediately provide an extra fan for us to use.) I highly recommend Francois' peaceful and beautiful Domaine du Clos Castaing and hope to return again!

Modern meets old

Wow! What a fabulous place! My husband, myself and 3 friends spent 12 days in this gorgeous chateau and had an absolutely wonderful time. This very old chateau has been lovingly renovated to mix modern amenities, (electrical, plumbing, kitchen, swimming pool..etc), with old world charm. Clos Castaing is really something special. The main floor has a modern kitchen, (with some authentic decor), large parlor, dining room, billiard room, laundry room and toilet. The next floor has 3 large double bedrooms with either king or queen beds. They all have beautiful views of the river and their own showers and sinks. There is also a "bunk room" , with 4 single beds but no shower or sink. There are 2 separate toilets on that floor. The top floor has a huge stunning king bedroom with gorgeous river views and a spa tub and sink, (note - there is no toilet on that floor).There is also plenty of outside seating, a bbq and an infinity pool to die for! The pool is heated and very clean. The restaurant in town, (Le p'tit Flaujaguais) is a 10 min walk, open 3 nights a week and is very good. Say hi to Audrey for us! The restaurant in Pessac, (Le Pessaquai), is also excellent and very friendly. For a great local wine tour try Chateau For-Vidal, ask for Claire. Collette, ( the property manager Clos Castaing), is very helpful with anything you need or with recommendations. It is hard not to have a great holiday at Clos Castaing. We can't wait to return! Enjoy!

Vacances en famille magnifique au bord de la Dordogne. Beaucoup de plaisir pour jeunes et vieux. Cadre merveilleux. Très beau manoir. Piscine, canoë-kayak, vélos, billard, visite des caves, etc... Gentillesse des hôtes. Tout pour passé un excellent séjour.

Sérénité et douceur de vivre

Semaine partagée avec nos grands enfants (32, 31 et 29 ans) et leur compagne. Tout respire le calme ici : la maison, le jardin, la Dordogne et ses rives. Calme entrecoupé d'activités : tourisme, vins, kayak, piscine, billard, jeux... Un grand moment, merci.

nous, en tant que famille, vivons dans différents pays et une fois par an (au moins) nous nous réunissons pour créer des souvenirs de famille. t/Le château est vraiment sympa, un bel environnement et une vue sur la Dordogne que demander de plus pour un vrai bijou en Dordogne. merci à Collette pour l'accueil et dieu pour l'explication. on peut vraiment dire ! quel souvenir merci beaucoup !!

Geweldige locatie, absolute rust met fantastisch uitzicht op de Dordogne vanuit het zwembad

We hadden een fantastische vakantie, op een mooie rustgevende locatie. Het verwarmd zwembad kwam goed van pas bij het mindere weer. De woning was heel erg ruim, kamers waren gigantisch en de keuken was mooi uitgerust. Het was elke euro waard!

superbe propriété

La piscine à débordement sur la Dordogne, c'est unique et extraordinaire. Nous avons beaucoup apprécier la température de l'eau de la piscine qui était chauffée entre 28 et 30 degrés, nous avons pu en profiter un maximum malgré une météo très moyenne. Les volumes intérieurs de la propriété sont grandioses. Seul bémol, l'electromenager n'est pas en très bon état, le four brûle tout de suite les aliments et il manque des roulettes au chariot du lave vaisselle.

Idyllische Tage an der Dordogne

Wir, als Familie mit zwei Kindern und Hund, haben uns in dem großen Haus sehr wohl gefühlt, haben die Ruhe und die herrliche Lage am Fluss und zu Fuße der Weinberge sehr genossen. So ließ sich auch der dritte Lockdown in Frankreich für einige Tage gut aushalten... Das Haus bietet viel Platz und (neben einem eigenen Auto) im Grunde alles, was zur Selbstversorgung wichtig ist. Darüber hinaus scheint das Angebot an analoger Unterhaltung beginnend bei der Umgebung (Landschaft, Fluss, Weingüter), Büchern und Billard, über das parkartige Grundstück, die Boote, Angeln, Fahrräder, bis hin zu Pool, Plattenspieler und Spielen beinah grenzenlos zu sein. Wir können diesen Ort für einen erholsamen wie aktiven Urlaub sehr empfehlen!

What a place!

I have just spent a week at Clos Castaing with family and we enjoyed every minute. Unusually for us we could have happily spent a couple more weeks there. The new pool is a wonderful addition and we also swam in the Dorgodge which is just few steps away. The Chateau has clearly been a well loved home and has a lovely aura. The surrounding countryside and villages are absolutely beautiful. Thank you to Collette for her warm welcome.

Wonderful and special place

My family spent a week at Clos Castaing, and we all fell in love with the beautiful tiny castle which i really special and full of history, at the same time restored and fully equipped to house 10-12 people. The peaceful nature surronding the spot made our holiday perfect! Thanks to our kind hosts!

Fantastic location on river and wonderful family home atmosphere

We loved the location and the tasteful refurbishment of the chateau by the owners. Great place to be, not too far from Bordeaux and a lot to do, see and taste between St. Emilion and Bergerac, which were all easy to reach.
