Really nice place in great location, directly across Garza Blanca. about 15 minute to downtown, 30 min to airport. Paty was very helpful and we had everything we needed. would def. come back to stay here.
Pool was fantastic. What a great way to entertain our two year old. And the water was warm. Of course would have loved less noise from the highway but this was as expected and was clearly mentioned in the other reviews. Overall we had a great time and I would gladly stay there again.
The house and pool were amazing. The pool was full sun until about 3:00 pm when there was a strip of shade for swimming laps. So nice and warm like bath water. The location across from perfect beach was ideal. Only downside was noise from leaf blowers in morning at 7 and again at 9 and trucks and cars on road.
Our stay here was so lovely we were already planning our next trip before we had left! Paty, the property manager is very kind and helpful. She was available throughout our stay for any questions. The pool was awesome! Lots of reviews said the pool was in the shade the whole time and that it was too cold to use. Maybe it was just the time of year, but we wished the pool was colder and there was more shade!
The House is plenty of charm , and we spend a good time with our family .Some renovations must be engaged :The very old air condition of the bed room near the living room , the shower of the bathroom is also very old .The fact that the house is on the road make too much noise , but nothing can be change .In the good point is the beach near the house .
All four of us really enjoyed our stay at this villa! The pool and the grounds were well taken care of. The maid & yard keeper did a fabulous job! The night raccoons made things interesting but we’re totally harmless. So the traffic is a bit noisy where this villa is located but the 7:15am leaf blower person at the resort next door was worse. Patty the property manager was super friendly, and responded quickly to any inquiries we had.
Had an amazing time at Villa Zafino! Our travel party was in the pool every day, and cooked together every night. The staff were all very helpful, kind and accommodating—gave great recommendations on beaches to go to and fun night life. The property manager was very responsive and attentive as well. Will absolutely be booking this villa again for our next PV trip. One note is that Ubers have a bit of a hard time finding the property and Uber eats won’t deliver out here, but taxis are always across the street. Loved the quiet neighborhood and privacy this location afforded as opposed to staying in town! Muchos gracias!!

Way too Loud!
If noise is an issue don't rent this place! Besides the busy road -you are across the street from a hotel where the delivery trucks are backing up all night. We lasted one night...
We thoroughly enjoyed the villa. It was clean and well cared for. The pool was an added bonus. The property manager was great to deal with as was the pool lady and the cleaning lady. We enjoyed the wildlife and we also listened to the beautiful birds singing. We even managed to see a few hummingbirds and an iguana…..right up our alley!
We only had one complaint and it is no fault of the host. Since we live in the country, we are used to lots of quiet. We found the road noise to be bothersome for us.
Noise and nothing works, AC in Bedroom my Airplane is more quiet and the place been not maintained f
old updated nothing works and very noisy location, best of the place pool guy and cleaning lady. never seen a manager. What AC ? what warm water ? Everything is very old and broke. would never stay in this place again for sure

It is unfortunate this guest did not contact me about these issues when they were staying with us, I might have been able to address them at the time. If the A/C or hot water heater wasn't working properly we would have someone take a look at, had we been aware there was a problem. Yes it is an older villa, we feel that it part of it's charm but realize it isn't for everyone. The villa location does make it noisy at times, I mention this in the listing, because I know it is a problem for some people. I am sorry that our villa wasn't quite what they were looking for.
Property was as described, pool was great, all the space, especially with an infant was necessary. Property manager and cleaner was responsive. Different than being in the US, but in a fun way. Master bath was outside which was unique, but enjoyable.
Let's address the main topic in comments. Maybe I am a city/suburb person but the noise was not relevant. If not for being aware of previous comments I would not have even noticed the traffic.
I was with my daughter, her five year old and one year old. I would have liked being near more dining options, but the resort across the street had a reasonably priced menu and access to the beach. Being with young children we had everything we needed. I would certainly stay here again!
We stayed at this location for one week in March. It was good to have three bathrooms along with the three bedrooms. The pool was warm and the outdoor patio was just lovely. Needed to communicate with owner on how to work the oven and the response was immediate....much appreciated. Check in was a breeze with Paty there to greet us and take us through the house and explain everything to us. Bus stop was mere steps from the property so we were easily able to get into town or out to Boca. The beach was easy access...just across the road and past the resort Road noise was the only issue. Unfortunately with a speed bump nearby the big trucks were either using their jake breaks to slow down going one way or gearing up going the other. If it had just been car noise it would have been no issue at all.

Disappointing vacation
We arrived at the property to learn that the washing machine was broken, (it was fixed a few days later), that the house was only about 15 feet from a very busy highway with speed bumps close by resulting in screeching trucks and vehicles all day and night. The pool is described as chilly…it was freezing and mostly in the shade as was the lovely courtyard. We swam in it only twice. The open areas in the main floor bedroom bathroom and on staircase allowed animals into the main living area. The host resolved this by having the maintenance man affix a lock on the door leading to the upstairs bedrooms but nothing was done about the bathroom. Animals still got in. The host also purchased some fresh towels and coffee mugs during our stay. Kitchen is fairly well stocked but many pot lids were broken and utensils needed replacing. We felt that the house was overpriced at 4500 Canadian dollars for 3 weeks. We will not be staying here again.

It is unfortunate that these guests did not enjoy their stay, I always hope people enjoy the villa as much as my family does. The villa is located on hwy 200, so yes there is traffic noise as with any property located along a costal highway. That is stated in the listing. The pool is chilly in the winter I am very upfront about that fact. I don't usually swim that time of year when the temperatures are 70 - 80 degrees outside it too cool for me to want to swim. One of our favorite features is the open air design. While I was happy to make adjustments to make their stay more enjoyable the bathroom ceiling is open to the outside, not much I could do about that for them. We did try to address the other issues raised. Our rates a comparable to other similar properties in the area, there are 3 master suites with private bathrooms for each bedroom . While this was obviously not the place for them, it works for many others
Amazing stay for our family of five, with all the amenities we could ask for. The house is well kept, with tons of room, and beautiful outdoor living space.
The private pool is a welcome reprieve from muggy afternoons, and the palapa outside makes for awesome al fresco dining.
The house is secluded, but is only a few minutes away from the PV romantic zone or Mismaloya by car, taxi, or the very economical bus, which stops only a few steps away.
There are several great beaches within walking distance, but our favorite is a 3 minute walk across the street at Garza Blanca, where despite there being a luxury hotel, the incredible beach is not busy, and we often had it to ourselves.
The nearby river offers hiking trails to a waterfall (actually a bunch if you are willing to scramble a bit) but there are many great swimming holes along the way that make for a great picnic spot in a picturesque jungle setting. Our children enjoyed time on the river just as much as visitng the beaches.
We didn't expeience any issues with the house, but the property manager and owner are super easy to get in touch with if anything were to come up. The caretaker staff that do visit regularly are kind and helpful.
If granite countertops and room service are your thing, PV has many great places to offer, but if you are looking for homey relaxation and authentic Mexican charm, I highly recommend Casa Zafiro for your holiday!
Casa Zaphiro is oozing Mexican charm. Details bring you to a Casa full of Mexican art, ornaments and structure. With all the amenities of home, it is a complete stay either short or long term. The greenery is impressive, with many different plant species. The lobster claw flowers emit such an incredible fragrance, you will fade away at the scent. If you enjoy a cold pool, and more shade than sun, it is an oasis. The Palaya is a skip across the street, which can be noisy at times, but you soon do not even hear the road noise. We felt safe at all times. We did experience the local “raccoons” however, they are harmless and just looking for food. Just do not leave any food around. The scenery is mind blowing and peaceful. The mountains behind and the ocean in front, the jungle surrounds you. The morning roosters, and birds bring contentment and peace to start your day. Love this property for its originality, just wish the pool was heated. As when the ocean gets angry, or a swim at the end of the day would have made our stay “perfect” Whether you are a couple or a family, there is plenty of room , and private space for everyone. The property is authentic, so don’t expect new furniture or appliances. It is someone’s home and feels like your home away from home.
We got to know the place well after staying there for 2 weeks and really utilizing what was available. We know that reviews are helpful for others, so here are our thoughts:
+ Debra and her team were excellent communicators, thorough and friendly.
+ The location was great for us, as it's away from the craziness of PV but has great access to Garza Blanca beach (walk across street), other beaches, Mismaloya and is still close to town (15-30 mins).
+ The place is roomy, comfortable, and the outdoor patio with private pool was amazing! Having the doors open kept it nice and cool on hot days.
+ The house was fairly well appointed with home goods, enough to get by making meals...having the washer/dryer was super helpful for a longer stay!
Things we feel that you should know:
1). You may be visited by a Kudimundi, which is a Mexican raccoon. They are quite big, mostly afraid of humans, but can be quite a surprise (even after they warned us).
2). Some of the villa is open-air, such as the downstairs bathroom and the stairwell, and we came to really like this aspect.
3). There will be dead bugs that seem to show up each night and will be found on the floor..we took this as no big deal and part of being in a tropical place.
4). We did not use the buses, but there is a stop right outside of the driveway. It was nice to have a car to access PV.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and are glad that we chose this villa. We highly recommend it.
