Lucca Holiday Rental Apartment in the historical medieval old town

The apartment (of about 80 sq. meters) is at a 1st floor (not ground floor) of an old palace. It is suitable for max. 3 adults + one kid. It is well equipped and nicely furnished. In the kitchen there is a dishwasher, microwave, oven, electric cooker hob, fridge etc. Not far from the shopping area, the apartment is located in the heart of the historical centre of Lucca, Medieval area.
The city centre is extremely well preserved and the apartment is well situated inside the city walls in a building in the historical heart of the old town.
This is a new, beautifully renovated charming flat with all its original features intact. It has a bright, elegant reception room with dining table for 6, satellite T.V. and Wi-Fi.
The location of this property makes the flat quite unique: It is in a very up-market area of Lucca, literally minutes from the legendary Amphitheater and some of the best shops, cafes, bars and pubs. If you enjoy walking or riding bikes, there are some great walks on the Lucca walls. In the summer it is great fun ambling around watching groups playing softball and having picnics or using the wall restaurants and enjoying concerts. There is a rent place with bikes to hire just around the corner from the flat.
The train and bus services take you everywhere you will want to go and it is such a fun way of seeing the country from the bus/train! Transport to and from the airports is very easy.
PISA AIRPORT : bus takes approx. 45 minutes.
FLORENCE AIRPORT: express bus, which runs a. every 60 minutes, takes 60 minutes.
Additional unregistered guests (i.e. those that have not been made known to owner at the time of booking) are not permitted without prior approval of the owner.
The apartment is to be used exclusively for residential purposes. Parties, business meetings, photo/film shootings, etc. without prior approval are prohibited.

ENVIRONMENTAL CHOICE
Plastic bottles are a big problem in our towns – as they tend to clog our waste bins allover Lucca - . We suggest our clients not to buy water in plastic bottles. The taps water in Lucca is perfectly drinkable (controlled by the City Authority) and there are many “fontanelle” (public water taps) allover the town, for instance the fountain at the beginning of Via della Zecca, with high quality tap water coming from the near hills and mountains.
The owner is personally involved through membership with several environmental activity organization.
Choosing my apartment in Lucca or Pietrasanta make you also an environmentally sensible choice.

Lucca

The property is in a very good location within the walls of this beautiful City.Lucca is a foodies paradise with some great restaurants nearby.Parking is close to the apartment but expensive.The apartment is well equipped and nicely decorated

A brilliant apartment in beautiful Lucca.

The apartment is superb and tastefully furnished and decorated. It was spotlessly clean and had everything one could hope for in a rented holiday apartment. The apartment is perfectly situated in the walled city. Access to public transport is easy. The owner, Tommaso, could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended!

Excellent location and helpful owner

We had a wonderful week in this clean, comfortable, spacious and well located apartment. Tommaso was so friendly and helpful, picking us up from the station and taking us back at the end of our stay. Everywhere within the walls was in easy walking distance and we found some lovely restaurants and delightful local shops. Walking to the station took about 15 minutes and there were direct trains to Florence and Pisa. Thank you Tommaso for a fabulous week. Terry

Summer in Lucca

Our stay with Tomasso was fantastic. He picked us up at the bus stop in Lucca and drove us to his apartment. Location is fantastic. Apartment is very well appointed and well stocked with kitchen basics. He told us about nearby restaurants and bars. He is charming and helpful and made us feel so welcome. At the end of our holiday he drove us to Pisa airport. We would definitely go back to his apartment. Thank you for a great holiday.

Well Appointed Apartment in A Quiet Street

The flat which is inside the city walls is very comfortable and has everything you need for a stay in Lucca. As light sleepers noise is something which was a possible source of concern but the street is quiet with the main bedroom to the rear. It's well located in the eastern side of Lucca and everything is within easy walking distance including the mains streets and the city walls, great if you want to avoid hiring a car and not so far from the railway station if you want to travel further afield. Tomossao is a delightful host who arranged to both pick us up from the railway station and indeed take us back on our return. We would definitely consider staying here again or perhaps in his other apartment in Pietrasanta. Great value and hard to find a fault

A perfect getaway

The apt was as pictured. The only surprise was the breakfast and bottle of wine that tomasso left us. He also picked us up at the train station when we arrived...the perfect host. Great location with restaurants,sights within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

Meraviglioso means Marvellous

I have recently spent the month of July 2016 in the beautiful walled town of Lucca making Tommaso's apartment my home. Delightfully presented, the apartment is very clean with every comfort and convenience. Positioned one level above the street it is private with plenty of space and large windows in each room. Being close to both Piazza Santa Maria and Piazza San Francesco provides plenty of facilities such as small traders, bars and restaurants. The bus stop for the Rosso bus line is just across the street and Centro is only a short distance away. Good quality bikes are available for hire at Piazza Santa Maria. Tommaso met me when I arrived and took me to the apartment. He drove me to the station when I departed. Tommaso attends to the needs of his guests in a considerate and kind manner. Thanks Tommaso. Modern spacious Apt. Close to shopping area

This was the first time we ever rented an apartment and it was wonderful. The owner could not have been any more obliging, he even drove us to the airport and printed out our boarding passes. The apartment is very close to everything, great shopping and fabulous restaurants. This apartment was much larger than we expected and super clean, it was well equipped with everything you need as if you were in your own home. The only negative is the street is a little noisy during the day but very quiet at night. We would definitely rent this property again.

Great place to stay in the heart of Lucca

We (family of 3 with teenage son) spent one week at this beautiful apartment in the heart of the city of Lucca. The apartment is cosy and comfortable, the kitchen offers everything you need to cook. The best of all were the beds: We slept better than at home, awesome. We enjoyed the short distances, you step out of the house and you are at Centro Storico. We loved to walk on the mura (city wall) that surrounds the centro, wonderful. The only thing we missed was a balcony/terrace, but this is hard to find in the city. Tommaso is a wonderful person, very friendly and professional. We will definitely tell our friends and family that this is a great place to stay. Family Wegner, Germany

Great retreat in the heart of Lucca

We enjoyed a fantastic stay in Tommaso's apartment in Lucca. It has everything you need - and more - it is a home from home. The rooms are bright, spacious and airy. Tommaso provided a cot for our toddler and picked us up from the airport which was a great help. The apartment is in a great location and close to great deli's and local restaurants selling traditional Tuscan food. The longer we stayed in Lucca the more we got to know and like it. We enjoyed day trips to Pisa and Florence - the apartment is not far from the train station.

Exceptional

The apartment is excellent,very roomy and comfortable for three people.It is well positioned being central, near so many lovely sites and with easy access to the wall which we walked in it's entirety. However it is the attentiveness of Tommaso the owner which makes this such an exceptional find. Not only were we collected and returned to the airport but we were treated to a tour of Pisa before we left. Thank you Tommaso we really did appreciate all your efforts. Spacious, modern with traditional touches

We can scarcely add much to that already said in previous reviews, except to agree entirely with all the nice things said about the apartment and the owner. We enjoyed a lovely week in Lucca in this beautiful apartment and were very grateful for Tommaso's kindness in meeting us at the airport. The apartment is very well situated, convenient to everything but private and quiet. Definitely intend going back there.

Beautiful and well appointed.

This is a beautiful apartment in the heart of Lucca. We were met by the owner Tommaso at the airport and driven to Lucca. On the way Tommaso told us a great deal about the city and its history. As we followed him through the door my daughter and I both gasped. It certainly has the WOW factor!Tommaso showed us around and explained, where necessary, how to operate the equipment. In addition to being so well presented the apartment is well equipped and sparkling clean. The description listed was accurate. I have already recommended the apartment to friends.

A beautiful apartment in the heart of Lucca

I recently spent a week’s holiday with my friend in Lucca. We stayed in Tommaso’s apartment for the first time. Tommaso himself was so helpful. The apartment is beautiful. It has been completely renovated, and fitted out with furniture and fittings of high quality, yet the original style of the ceilings and the floors have been retained - the ceiling with the traditional wooden beams combined with terracotta tiles, specific to this area, as well as the terracotta floor tiles throughout. The kitchen area is very well equipped, with everything we needed for preparing and cooking meals, although we ate out on several evenings as the as there are so many excellent traditional restaurants nearby. The lounge area is spacious, with large comfortable sofa and chairs. The artwork on the walls throughout the apartment makes it an interesting place to be. We were able to have a bedroom each . Both bedrooms have a small balcony and the beds are extremely comfortable. There is ample wardrobe space. The whole apartment is spotlessly clean. The apartment is situated in the heart of Lucca - in the ‘Centro Storico’, on one of the ancient streets typical of Lucca. There are historical museums and art galleries within a stone’s throw - There is even the new Centre of Contemporay Art (Lu.CCA) housed in one of the historic Palazzi at the end of the street. There are two bakeries on the street where we were able to get fresh bread each morning as well as wonderful grocery shops just around the corner, stocked with all kinds of meats, cheeses. We also enjoyed looking round the up-market clothes and shoe shops, as well as the markets, and we walked on the walls that encircle the city. We found that there was a good local bus service, which we used, to go out of the historic centre and into the countryside. We also went to the Spa Town of Montecatini on the train. It is so easy to get to all the surrounding areas either by bus or by train. It was always a pleasure to return to the ancient centre of Lucca and to the lovely apartment. With more time we could have gone up into the Appenines to the mountain villages, or to Florence or to Viareggio on the coast. We are already planning to go back Tommaso’s apartment next year.

Lucca Stay

Tommaso was an excellent and attentive host who went above and beyond. The location was excellent as well and made it easy to find my way around. A small note-The rooms were scented which was not an issue for me but may be for someone allergic to fragrances. You may wish to check with Tommaso.beforehand.

Wonderful Apartment

We had a wonderful stay in Lucca. Tommaso was a gracious host. He drove us to and from the train station and offered advice and information on what to see and do in Lucca. The apartment was spacious and clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect for exploring and near to restaurants and shopping. We hope to return and highly recommend the apartment to family and friends.

Pure Tuscany experience

We enjoyed 2 wonderful weeks to celebrate our 25th anniversary. This beautiful appartment located in the historic center of Lucca was perfectly equipped with everything we needed and even more. We felt at home right away. The appartment is perfect to explore Lucca in all it’s beauty. Everything is in walking distance (grocery shop, backery, the city walls, train station). Lucca is the perfect starting point to explore Tuscany‘s famous cities (like Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra or Pisa) and landscape. Also visiting La Spezia and Cinque Terre is absolutely possible. Tommaso, the friendly owner made sure that everything was cared for. Even before we arrived he invested time and effort that we find a place to park our car. He was eager to answer our questions and was very helpful. We plan already to come back. Mille Grazie!

Family Trip in Lucca

PROS - inside the walls of Lucca, which is near all attractions - well equipped with everything one needs for a longer stay - Great butcher, coffee bars, pizzeria, kid’s playground nearby - Easy access to fortifications where one can go for great family walks - Natural spring water fountain down the street - Owner speaks good English and is easy to communicate with CON - Apartment feels very cold (March/April) and the heating solution (radiators) is not appropriate for a family with young children. We were told that there is some Italian regulation that prohibits raising the heating temperature above 19 deg C, which feels cold especially for a family with two young children. If one raises the temperature above 19 deg C the system is designed to cut off hot water. There is one air conditioning with a heat pump that can provide heating; however, this is only for the main room and while it is ON you can’t use any other appliances in the apartment as it will trip off the main breaker for electricity. We have travelled through out Italy and this is the first time experiencing limitation with heating - Electricity restrictions in the apartment that prevent you from using more than one appliance at a time. This should have been in the description of the apartment as it severely limits one’s ability to cook a decent meal in average time. For ex., using one stove top element and the oven at the same time trips the main breaker - Hot Water temperature is not regulated well

A perfect ending

After a month in Italy, we finished with Tomasso’s wonderful help. He was patient and kind when we had online trouble from our end. He was flexible, accommodating, and in a very short time, felt like an old friend to us. We hope to see him again. Lucca was beautiful and alive. We adore Italy and hope to return.

It was my first money investiment. I renovated it twice trying not to lose the original characteristics.

What makes this property unique

When my clients arrive they say that they feel at home. I am referring to my apartment before the total renovation. I suppose they will feel at home also now, after the renovation. I like helping people, coming from all over the world, to spend their holidays in Italy by offering them holiday accommodation and interesting and fun things to do, i.e. a , cultural or gastronomical tour, Italian lessons, cooking or painting courses or anything else they might want to do during their stay in my apartment.
My apartment could be the base for excursions to the old Tuscny towns. It is located near to restaurants, shopping are etc.
