Luxury Open Concept Cottage With Large Pool and Yard

Welcome to the Mara Cottage! This spacious well laid out vacation home is a perfect retreat. The large family room is beautifully decorated and allows guests spacious comfort in a relaxing atmosphere. Off the family room is the grand bedroom with a classically romantic king size bed that includes a 4 piece ensuite with a jacuzzi tub. Large glass French doors off the kitchen provide access to the outdoor living space. This patio houses a beautiful sitting and dining area and provides the perfect setting to enjoy the sprawling professionally landscaped 100-foot long private backyard. Also, enjoy a huge pool and deck and a big gas barbecue. The recently renovated lower level features an additional Family Room/Media Room with 2 large bedrooms as well as a Games room.

This property was stunning right when you walked in the door. The beds were clean and nicely made. There were loads of beach towels and shower towels available. Multiple sets of cups and wine glasses for indoors and outdoors. This property offers so much opportunity for entertainment between the pool, hot tub, air hockey table, games, books and more! And is in great proximity to restaurants and wineries. Peer and Claudia we so great to answer all of my questions in preparation for our stay.

Best weekend away

My group had the most amazing stay here. The house is very spacious, along with a beautiful backyard, which I think is the main selling point. We were able to take a walk down the road to purchase some flowers from a sweet little farm. The home was clean, some of the bathrooms could use a little bit better of a clean. Overall though, a great stay with great memories made.

Perfect for our family

This place is fabulous. Very clean, spacious and a lot of extras (games, toys etc). Pool was amazing and my girls spent most the week in it. Backyard was very comfortable and relaxing as well. I highly recommend staying here and we hope to return next summer!

The property is great for a family

My wife and I had the King primary along with an ensuite while our kids and their kids had six different beds on the lower level…close to the wineries and restaurants in the Niagara on the Lake area…a good time was had by all!

Great getaway

The property was just as advertised and clean upon arrival. Ample supplies for our 5 day stay. We fully enjoyed the pool and the outside dining area.

Great location

My friends and I stayed here over a long weekend. We enjoyed being able to sit outside in the wonderful patio space and next to the pool. We had a ton of space and everything was available. Really great location being near to NOTL, wineries, and Niagara Falls as well. We would stay here again!

Wine tour

The house location is near excellent winery and Farmer, in a beautiful area. We are all pleased by our week. The house was as published nothing bad ! All was good thanks to Claudia.

Girls Weekend

We had a great time at this property with a group of women for a girls weekend. We could walk to wineries and had a great dinner out at a local brewery. You could also walk to Starbucks!! The place had plenty of beds and linens and towels were provided. We felt like we had everything by we needed. Thanks for a great stay.

Girlfriend Get Away

Had a wonderful time staying at this house. The house was clean, tidy, and roomy and the pool was not chlorine based so it was very gentle to our skin and hair. We were walking distance to a little roadside fruit market as well as a little bakery that we visited almost daily. The owners were very nice and accommodating. We would highly recommend this listing. listing.

Great stay, would gladly come back

We had a great stay here with friends. Beautiful area, close to many wineries, town, etc. We would gladly stay here again or come back with our children. Only confusion was that there is a separate small apt. attached to the house, and we didn't know that. It was no problem as it was just an older, nice family member, just helpful to know and have info about where to park (what side of driveway). House was clean and very fun to stay in and we'd love to come back in the summer to enjoy the backyard more.

Good balance

Property is not in the center of town but only 10 minute drive to town and also less than 10 Minutes drive from any wineries. Nothing in walking distance but overall well located for family stay nice backyard and pool. Lots of space inside for family time also. Comfortable and host is accommodating and responds very quickly. Would definitely stay again

Perfect location to relax

My family stayed here on a vacation we took to both relax and take our kids to see the falls. We’ve been to Niagara on the lake several times and love the wineries in the area, but this was our first time using Vrbo in that area. The location was perfect, right near Pilliterri, restaurants, not far from NOTL and a short drive to the falls and butterfly conservatory. The property was nicely decorated, very comfortable, and just perfect. And they even made sure to message when they needed to stop by and put out the trash. We would definitely stay there again! Also my kids both loved the house and they are 14 and 10.

weekend wedding and wineries

generally a very nice place for 6 of us to stay and spend some quality family time together. some areas could use a bit of attention as far as cleanliness (oven, back of bathroom doors) and fridge and freezer had items left in them bed in master bedroom was very comfortable coffee and filters were provided which was a very nice touch! good communication with owners for minor problem. generally very attentive would recommend

Nice and Convenient Property!

Coordination process with the owners was seem less. This is a well kept (and equipped), conveniently located and clean property. We loved staying there and had an amazing time. Really felt like home. Nice pool and game room for family fun. There is an attached unit built in the garage, but it was empty. We still have the property for ourselves.

Summer Traditions at NOTL

It has now become a tradition to spend some time in August with family at NOTL. Peer and Claudia are outstanding hosts who ensure that everything is provided for the stay. The pool is one of our fav activities to do, followed by ice cream in town and dinner with games in the large living space or the patio. It’s a wonderful getaway close to all NOTL attractions in a comfortable , clean and well equipped house. We will be back!

Great girls trip

It was a great place and wonderful time by all of us. Had a little problem with the shower being slippery but got that taken care of. Answered any time I wrote. It looked just like the Vrbo sight too. Beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay and time from us all. Oh and so quiet and peaceful . Just great

Excellent Location, Great for Large Group

As an extended family of 7 we could not have found a better home for our holiday. The hosts were very responsive to our every question. The beds are comfortable and dressed in high end linens. Towels were thick and plentiful. The kitchen had every gadget we needed. Wish we had known about the attached suite as that would have made it possible for additional family to join us but still have privacy. Very pleased with our choice! Thank you Peer and Claudia.

Wonderful stay

Despite the proximity to the neighboring houses, we felt like we had our own private getaway. The pool and game room were great amenities for the kids. The patio and grill were great for the adults. The house felt spacious. There was a shower handle mishap with the guests prior to us. Peer reached out to us ahead of time letting us know and also told us he would make the attached owner suite bathroom available to us. It was a great solution. We would happily stay here again. Thank you!

We started coming to Niagara-on-the-Lake about 10 years ago when our Parents bought a vineyard and then a winery. This region is beautiful and offers so many activities, there is always a festival or event taking place. In particular, we love the biking trails and take full advantage of them in the summer. We also enjoy the many food options from fresh jams and fruits at the local farms to the delicious gelato in the Historic town to fine dining in the multitude of restaurants available.

The Mara is a really comfortable property with spacious rooms allowing for multiple generations of families or groups of friends to gather together but also have enough space to relax in private to read a book or take a nap. The backyard is huge attraction and we often hear of guests literally spending all their time there. Our favorite is a morning coffee on the patio sofa before all the activity starts. If you choose to explore nearby, the Mara is within walking distance of restaurants, wineries, grocery stores, children's park, soccer fields, running track and shops.

We want you to have fun so the backyard has pool toys, bocce ball and other games. The cottage has a hockey table, soccer table and dart board as well as board games.
