Welcome to Barret House – Your Perfect Louisville Home Base!
Whether you’re here to tour bourbon distilleries, attend a conference, catch the thrill of Churchill Downs, or just explore the unique charm of Louisville, Barret House is the ideal place to land.
Tucked in the heart of the Historic Highlands—one of Louisville’s safest and most walkable neighborhoods—you’ll be just steps away from everything that makes this city special. Here’s what you’ll love: • A beautifully reimagined 3-bedroom, 2-bath home inside a classic Highlands duplex, offering space, comfort, and a touch of local flair • Two fully equipped kitchens (yes, two!) plus a hide-a-bed and futon in the bright, upstairs lounge—perfect for families or groups • Private parking pad in the back—a rare and welcome convenience in this area • Only two blocks to Restaurant Row on Bardstown Road—walk to top-rated restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, boutiques, and more • Quick access to downtown, the Bourbon Trail, museums, the riverfront, and beyond
A quick note: We thoughtfully combined two one-bedroom apartments into one inviting 3-bedroom space. One of the bedrooms is centrally located and a bit more open in design—it’s cozy, stylish, and thoughtfully set up with area rugs and throw pillows to create a welcoming retreat. And with two full bathrooms, you’ll have plenty of comfort and privacy.
Picture your group enjoying morning coffee on the front porch, strolling out for brunch, or gathering upstairs for a laid-back movie night in the open common area.
Barret House has Louisville charm, unbeatable location, and room to relax. We’d love to host your stay!

Our host was excellent, he was very attentive and responded quickly to messages. The location was great with plenty of food that was within walking distance.
The BARRET HOUSE was in a great location and very clean. The beds are comfortable and plenty of amenities to get us through our stay with our friends. It is 2 separate apartments made into one, but has doors that close off the upstairs from the downstairs units.
Place was nice, clean. Beds were comfy. Communication was excellent. Responded within minutes each time. Tennent accomodated an early check-in so we had somewhere to put our luggage. Parking spot was a plus!Would rent again.
Super cute house with lots of room. Close to everything with lots of awesome shops across the street. I recommend Unorthodox and Fat Rabbit. We had a lovely stay. Thanks so much for a great experience!
We stayed at this charming house over a long weekend. There was plenty of rooms, two kitchens and you cannot beat the location. Would absolutely stay there again!
The Barret House is a great place to stay in Louisville!! It’s close to everything and the two condos together were perfect for our family of 8, we were provided with everything we needed.
The stay was exactly what I was looking for with my group. Owner/manager was very prompt in communicating and generous by giving us a late checkout. Would stay again
Great location in Louisville. Easy to get downtown, restaurants, nightlife, and highway access to do day trips. Beautiful home, lots of character. Great communication with owner!
Our family gathered in Louisville for an early Thanksgiving. Very clean and spacious two-level property. Two queen beds on first floor ( four steps required to enter property). King bed and spacious living room upstairs. Two big total bathrooms with laundry. Convenient parking spot for one car on property which is helpful due to busy road. Would definitely stay again. Love the neighborhood.
Loved the location, very clean ,comfy beds. Would have liked more seating down stairs, since there is no living room. I would definitely stay here again. James was very responsive to questions and promptly got the A/c working again, when it went out. Very professional

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review! I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed the location and found the beds comfortable — that means a lot. I totally understand what you meant about the seating downstairs, and just to clarify, we do have a large living room space that guests are welcome to enjoy, but I’ll definitely keep your note in mind as we continue making improvements. It was a pleasure hosting you, and I’d be happy to welcome you back anytime!✨😊✨
