Birders retreat in El valle de Anton The Rufous motmot

Our casita sits at the bottom of the Gaital mountain - offers great birding and super views. 2 bedrooms /1 bath. We have WiFi, fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker. + inside washer/dryer and fans. This unique property has incredible gardens mineral tub straight out of the mountain. Super for birding from the beginner to the experienced. The center of town is minutes away and has restaurants, a fresh market-open daily, banks, El Rey grocery store, gym, pickle ball court. Many adventures to be had at places such as slot canyon, Hot Springs, serpentarium, butterfly area, Zoo, Zip line, etc.
The beaches are 45 minutes either direction off the Pan-American highway, one we recommend is the black sand beach at PALMAR right past the town of San Carlos. There is also Santa Clara, take a right at the Pan American highway and some 20 minutes later, you will see the signs for the left turn. Some restaurants you might like are Bruschetta’s, Angus burger, La divina, Casa de Lourdes, Doña Nella and more.

We spent two wonderful weeks here during our scouting trip and absolutely loved our stay! Valeri and the caretakers were exceptionally kind, welcoming and generous. Throughout our stay they shared fresh bananas, oranges, limes, grapefruit and a huge bunch of watercress from the property. When my mom became sick, they thoughtfully brought us fresh oregano, mint and lemongrass for tea to help her feel better. That kindness meant so much, especially while we were far from home.The property is beautiful, peaceful and surrounded by nature, and we definitely got the full El Valle jungle experience! We had geckos, fascinating insects, a couple eight-legged visitors and even a mystery flying guest that had us debating whether we had a bird or a bat in the house. “What creature is THAT?” became a regular part of our stay, and honestly, it just added to the adventure!The driveway is a little questionable and might have you questioning your life choices the first time, but take it slowly—you’ll get the hang of it, and that’s life in El Valle!And then there’s Capitan. We completely fell in love with that sweet little dog. Seeing him every day became part of our routine, and we are genuinely going to miss him.Five stars for the beautiful setting, the wonderful people, Capitan, and even the jungle creatures that kept us entertained. We couldn’t have asked for a more memorable place to call home for two weeks in Panama!

A peaceful stay in Paradise.

Valerie’s place is a wonderful piece of paradise. Located in a quiet and natural setting with lots of beautiful flora/fauna. My stay was magnificent.

Great spot, gorgeous gardens. The host was very responsive. The driveway was a bit tricky in the dark but we navigated it! Plenty of space and close to downtown El Valle. Loved it!

Relaxed

This is such a cute place. Reasonably close to town but set on a hill side along a small stream. We were very comfortable here and enjoyed a relaxing weekend. The views are of color full plants with lots of birds.

Charming location in the hills

This comfortable house is located in a beautiful neighborhood in the hills just outside of El Valle de Anton. The landscaping is gorgeous and the birds are amazing. They put fruit out for the birds every morning, so birdwatching from the balcony is a dream. There is a nice area to walk around the property. It is very close to the frog research facility and the square trees trail. The town is nearby and easy to get to.

Ruhige Unterkunft mit sehr schönem Garten und Blick in die Umgebung. Etwa 10 Autominuten vom Zentrum entfernt. In der direkten Umgebung keine Geschäfte oder Lokale. Für uns war das so in Ordnung. Die Kommunikation war einfach und bei Problemen wurde schnell reagiert.
