Amazing waterfront!

This place is so peaceful! Being able to see the water from just about every room. The pics in listing can’t even begin to show the beauty of this spot! Super clean and a kitchen with great utensils and pans, anything you need! Would stay again!

We loved East Ledge!

Our group of 6 had a lovely week at East Ledge! Carol met us at the house when we arrived and provided a tour and some useful information about the house. The area is quiet but a short walk from fresh lobster and ice cream and a short drive from the perfect town of Bath. We would highly recommend this stay!

Magical Birthday Peacefulness

Amazing sunrises and sunsets. The perfect tranquil relaxation spot. Every gadget and serving utensil was on hand. The best morning coffee in a while. Would have liked to know the fireplace was off limits beforehand but all in all amazing

Relaxing home on the water

We enjoyed our stay at this home which is located right on the water. It is a great place to read some books, relax and gaze out towards the water. We saw a lot of birds, seals, dolphins and more. Please note that there are 1,200 gallon water tanks for showering and cooking.

Beautiful Getaway

This place at East Ledge on Georgetown Island was incredibly well appointed with everything one could want for a comfortable stay. All sorts of kitchen appliances, well-stocked cupboards, lap blankets for comfy lounging, books, puzzles, games, a TV room with a shelf of DVD's, outdoor chairs and table on a deck immediately overlooking Sheepscot Bay, with its seals and loons and lobster boats ... what more could you ask? Add to this a free pass to gorgeous Reid State Park (not to be missed!) just down the road and you've got something close to heaven.

Best VRBO Experience I've Ever Had!

The owner of this property was extremely helpful, kind, and ensured our stay was absolutely perfect. The property itself is in tip-top shape and in a perfect location for a getaway. We're already looking forward to returning to this spot for years to come.

Coastal View and Cozy Cottage

The view of the cove is wonderful, the kitchen is well stocked, and the hosts are very responsive. The state park pass is a nice bonus. No washer/dryer on site, which could be clearer in the description. Also, with steep stairs this cottage is not for anyone with mobility issues. Still, a lovely location.

Home with a beautiful view

A nice home in a secluded area of Georgetown, Me. We enjoyed our stay at East Ledge. The views from the living room, kitchen and deck are very nice. The property owners were very helpful and available for any inquiries we had. We enjoyed our stay.

Waterfront retreat!

I was looking for a peaceful retreat with a view of the water - and that is exactly what I experienced at this comfy home. Watching the light on the water, walking to Five Islands Libster Co for dinner, and strolling at Reid State Park were highlights!

Relaxing

This was our 2nd time at East Ledge and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. We love the view and the grounds. The kids love to explore and sit by the campfire in the evening. It’s a place we can’t wait to get to and hate to leave.

North Atlantic Paradise

If you want incredible views, access to the freshest seafood less than a five minute walk away, the most perfect Maine beach a five minute drive away and the cleanest, most comfortable house to retire to in the evening....look no further than Michael's place here. It truly is incredible.

a beautiful cottage by the sea

Michael and his mom were amazing hosts for our stay in Georgetown, Maine. Upon walking in to the home, I immediately felt comfortable and as if I were walking into a space that was filled with love, laughter, and so many other good things. The home was the perfect size, had the most amazing view, and satisfied my and my friend's need to climb on rocks and do some beach combing. :) We visited Reid State Park and attending the art fair, grabbed lobster rolls from Five Islands and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only suggestion to Michael is to include a note about the stairs leading up to the 2nd floor as they are rather steep. Those steps would not stop me from booking this space again. Thank you again for creating such a lovely space. Lisa & Greg

The property and house were perfect! We enjoyed our stay so much. Sitting on the deck and/or on the rocks watching the boats and listening to the water made the trip! The kitchen was fully stocked. The house had everything we needed. Highly recommend this property. Thank you!

Fabulous stay in mid-coast Maine

East Ledge was a wonderful place to stay when visiting mid-coast Maine. Michael, Carol, and her very welcoming dog Biscuit were gracious hosts, who helped us settle in quickly and were quickly attentive to a couple of minor needs during our stay. The house was immaculate, comfortable, and fully stocked, with gorgeous water views and comfortable decks to watch the tide rise and fall and the many boats passing by. A park pass to nearby Reid State Park was included, providing easy access to spectacular ocean beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Excellent stay for one week

This property was lovely and peaceful. We had four adults who stayed very comfortably in this home in Five Islands on Sheepscot Bay. Among other things, we spent time wandering around the rocks and beach at Reid State Park and visited the Five Islands Farm. A short walk to the pier. Carol, our host, was very helpful. We didn't have to ask her for anything because it was already there! Would stay again if the opportunity arises.

Beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable with unforgettable views

We had a wonderful week staying at East Ledge. The house is extremely comfortable, and the location can't be beat! Water on both sides of the house meant gorgeous views in every direction, and incredible sunsets and moon rises. We had coffee on the deck, saw what we think was the same heron almost every day, and roasted s'mores by the fire at night. Our only regret was the lack of a dock made it difficult to put in our canoe, but that would not prevent us from returning to this lovely house in the future.

Wonderful woodsy cottage on Gotts Cove and Sheepscot River

Very roomy cottage, well equipped with everything we needed (and more). Delightful location nestled in the woods, yet right on the water with lobster boats, terns, seals and all we could ask for in a Maine getaway! Michael was very accommodating, making sure we were comfortable, bringing wood for the fire pit, and even quickly responded to fix a water heater issue. Carol is just delightful and met our every need. Really enjoyed having the pass to Reid St Park! Thanks loads!

Great time at east ledge

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at a cottage in a quiet little cove in Georgetown. The cottage was clean and supplied everything we needed. There was an excellent view of the water and pine trees with lobster boats gliding back and forth. Beautifully scenic. The Five Islands Lobster Pier was a walk away for a fresh seafood meal. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at Blue restaurant located in Greyhaven Inn on the water. The owner supplied a pass to Reid State park, another gem in the area. All in all a wonderfully tranquil time on the water. Hope to go back. Thank you Michael and Carol. Jan & Michael Cote

Outstanding Georgetown Waterfront Location

We are originally from New England, and we now reside in a more financially friendly state 900+ miles south of this location. Every June we get back to this mid-coast Maine area to enjoy the weather & the cold-water seafood, the Boothbay activities and the piece & quiet of coastal Maine in June. The house was extremely well equipped and very comfortable. Thank you, Carol & Biscuit, for your visits and welcoming us to your special neighborhood. Attn: Michael - If you put this property on the market, we would appreciate a head's up on making an offer!

Week of family memories at a wonderful location!!

Hurricane Lee hit just as we were heading up but that did not deter us. The owner was amazing at communicating every step of the way. The area lost power but the backup generator allow the refrigerator and some key lights to work so we were good! We had power by 1pm Sunday after we returned from a day trip to Bath. The place is amazing!! Very comfortable, we lacked nothing, and the views were nothing less than amazing!! My husbands family took care of the property when it was a camp. What stands there now is absolutely incredible. If you are looking for a place to unwind, this is the place. Thanks to Carol and Mike for making oit stay an amazing memory filled and memory making week!!

Wonderful stay

This home was lovely in every way. It’s very quiet and secluded, which was exactly what we’d hoped for. We alternated between sitting on the deck and enjoying the water and sitting in the comfortable rockers in front of the sliding glass door. We saw a seal, lots of cormorants, osprey, a loon, ducks, kayakers and a few lobster boats. Overall the river in front of the house is very quiet. The house is gorgeous and in incredibly clean. The kitchen was about like ours at home in terms of what was in it — dishes, pots and pans, baking dishes, even a roasting pan. The Five Island Lobster Shack is not to be missed, as it is on a commercial dock and the lobsters come straight off the boat into the pot. We hope to be back next year for a longer stay.

A Great Maine Experience

Great location with excellent water views. We watched the sun rise and lobster boat traffic with great interest. The house is very nicely furnished and well-equipped with everything you'll need to enjoy your visit. It felt like it was a family's well-cared-for summer house and we got to stay there for a week. There was none of the "good enough for the renters" mentality demonstrated by the people who thoughtfully prepared this house for rent. We saw a shooting star from the deck and had many private, peaceful hours. The location is close to Reid State Park, further down on Georgetown Island, approx. 30 minutes from Bath. You can reach Popham Beach as well in about 50 minutes. (The owners provide the seasonal pass to both parks/beaches, which is a thoughtful gesture that saves you money.) We will definitely consider staying here again. The one thing which keeps this from being a "perfect" place is that there was a nearby house with residents playing loud music at random times - on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, for example, blasts of classic (bad) 70's and 80's rock. Someone - either real estate company, or group of neighbors needs to deal with the "frat house" mentality of the residents of this neighboring house. Otherwise, this is truly a great Maine experience. This house can be a good fit for two adult couples and two children -- we were just two adults so we did not use the upstairs (2 bedrooms and full bath with shower) at all. Visit Reid State Park's lagoon area and check the tide schedules to get the most benefit from Popham. Each is a real beach experience complete with sand and gulls and shells to collect. Also, when in Bath, make time for the Maritime Museum and be sure to get a pizza and garlic "dough-knots" at The Cabin, on Washington Street, which is Route 209 the way to/ from Popham Beach. The Montsweag Flea Market (active on multiple days) is within an easy, mostly scenic 40-minute drive. It was truly a treat to have a week in early August at this place. At the end of our week, we were quite sad to leave this special place.

Like being at your cousin's cabin

This was our first trip to Maine and this home was our first stop (of three) during our stay. It definitely was our favorite! We enjoyed being welcomed by Carol and having the chance to ask questions. Having Reid State Park nearby is like having a beach in your backyard (thanks for the pass). I've stayed in numerous vrbos over the years and, by far, Michael is the most responsive host I've encountered.
