Rusty Rio es una gran casa rústica ubicada bajo grandes robles y vistas lejanas a las montañas, con una nueva piscina y área de relajación. ¡La nueva cocina, la gran sala perfecta y la litera para niños hacen que esta propiedad sea muy popular! Un lugar divertido para reunirse con familiares y amigos, todos los que se quedan allí tienen una explosión absoluta.

La remodelada sala de estar y baño de la cocina es fantástica y hay muchos ciervos salvajes que se acuestan por la noche y comen durante el día. Se asienta sobre un pequeño acantilado y se asoma a montañas, campos y densas zonas boscosas. En realidad, hay dos cabañas para dar flexibilidad a las familias.

Por grandioso que sea el interior, el exterior es donde todos querrán estar. El pozo de herradura, la barbacoa, el pozo de fuego y el área de la piscina son el mejor destino para relajarse. Este vecindario es seguro para que los niños pequeños caminen, anden en bicicleta y caminen.

Family gathering

Everyone enjoyed the property! Great area for wildlife watching. Loved appliances upgrades especially ice machine. This was our 2nd stay and will have many more to come.

The place and location was great, the house accommodated all 20 of us, with extra room. I really loved the built in ice machine . The pool was a plus especially with having kids, we were never bored. I do wish i had went to see the bats, lol overall our stay was awesome and would definitely come back again (I do recommend maybe another bathroom/half bath )

Family Vacation

The rooms that were added on they smelled like mildew. The hot tub was not working and the pool is too far from the bbq area. Not for us we like to bbq and watch the kids swim. We always stay at Agave is our preference

Thanks for letting me know about the smell. Hot tub is turned off during the hot summer time. Good observation about the smoker location to the pool and will pass it along to the owner. Check out the new beautiful bathroom and walking paths at Agave…

Wonderful Experience

We stayed at this property for a bachelorette weekend. We had 11 adults and we all had an amazing time with so many memories to take with us. The property is spread out so we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The pool was great we spent most of our time in the pool. All of us would highly recommend this property. Several people from our group are already looking at renting this property again. Thank you for the amazing property!

Last Minute Rental

We were scheduled to go to Surfside Beach for our annual family vacation but hurricane Beryl prevented it. Since we alternate between the beach & the Frio, we looked for a last minute availability in Concan/Leakey that would accommodate our large family. Thankfully the Rusty Rio was free. And since the Frio is so low, the pool was a perfect alternative. Our gang loved it.

Great for what you want/need

We had 4 couples and 4 kids, and booked almost 2 years in advance for the eclipse. The Rusty Rio is quaint and what it appears to be....a fun and "campy" spot. The only gripe we had was that when we booked, we filtered rentals that had hot tubs, and hot tub was listed as an amenity. It didn't work, and likely hasn't for many years. When we contacted the host, we were advised that it does not work and never has, and that the amenity listing was an error. With that being said, everything else was great.

Glad you liked your stay. Since you booked in 2022, the Hot tub no longer is included in stays. It does work and the owner has clearly made the changes on all documents and websites. Sorry for the new policy going into effect after 2022.

Summer River Trip

The property has a great location for river access. There are plenty of stores and restaurants for item's needed or wanting to go out to eat. We choose this property because it could accommodate our family and especially since it had a swimming pool. The only two negative notes I will make about this stay is, the pool had chemicals added the day of arrival and we were told we could not swim that day. I don't know why it wasn't added the day before our arrival. We payed for that anyway. The sleeping quarters that house the bunk beds had ants so we had to go buy spray to treat the area along with cleaning out spider webs. Out of fairness to the property, we did enjoy ourselves and had a place to rest and sleep at the end of the day.

Regarding the concerns of your review. We do not take care of the pool, it’s an outside pool cleaner. When they add chemicals they dilute within an hour. Your mistaken saying you were told to stay out of the pool for an entire day. Remember if you have an issue just call us and we'll spray for ants. Glad you enjoyed your stay!

Great Place little outdated for the price

The stay was great, the house was a decent layout, no true master. All bathrooms are shared baths. Not being able to use the hot tub was surprise when we arrived. The house is fairly difficult to find at first as there are no street signs and the map given is very cartoonish like you find at a theme park. The distance to the water is a 2 minute drive down the road and not a 2 minute walk as other reviews have stated. As long as your aware of those things going into this rental I think it will not be a let down. Overall rental process was smooth and the rental company was very accommodating and responsive. Just house and location were a little disappointing as we came in thinking we could walk to the river and for the price figured the house would have better finishes and updated layout.

Not as big as it seems

The property was not as big as the pictures make it believe. You can’t tell from the pictures but the guest house is a shed with particle board walls. It smelled wet and it was extremely hot in there even though we had the AC as low as they allow. The living room in the main house was not comfortable and there wasn’t a table big enough to enjoy family time for a venue that sleeps 23. Trash from the previous tenant was still crammed under beds and around the house. The property management was really sweet and tried to make everything right while we were there but you can’t fix it. Upgrades are needed to make it right. I guess for us it was not worth the price. Not sure if this is just the norm price post pandemic or what but we have stayed at a lot nicer for way less.

Let me tackle your opinions individually. First, we provide guests with not only pictures but videos so everyone can determine if the house size meets there needs. Second, the guest house does smell? Some guests wear their wet bathing suits inside and sit on furniture and beds. Really can't stop them. 3. Guests come in & out all day & night releasing hot air into the homes. All Vacation homes work hard time to keep the houses cool. Just call us if you have cooling issues. We answer our phones 24/7 to handle this quickly & efficiently. We have an A/C company on call & extra A/C units just for this reason. 4. I'll ask the owner to provide additional seating in the living & dining room. That said there is plenty of outdoor covered seating & dining for everyone. 5. Trash is unacceptable! We missed checking under the furniture and apologize! 6. This owner just upgraded in 2021: painted & purchased new living room furniture. I'll ask about the guest house. Last, being new to Concan you expected a 5 star experience at a low price sleeping 23 people. Tough to find in Concan! Guests have been coming here for generations & just happy to have A/C! That said, this home is a RUSTIC experience with years of happy guests at Rusty Rio.

Decent place.

The main house is pretty dated but not terrible. The guest house/bunk room is basically a storage shed turned into a place to stay. Walls are partical board and gives off the storage building vibes. Signs are posted not to turn a/c down below 74 otherwise the will freeze up and you will have to pay $200 for it to get fixed, so it was hot at night. I also killed a scorpion and a 7 inch centipede in the guest house. But the pool and the covered area between the main house and shed was great. Overall for the price per night I would have expected more of an updated house that I could turn the ac down to 70 at night. But otherwise it was decent.

We are very upfront with pictures and videos of the property. We have many guests who are pleased with the home but it seems your expectations weren’t met and that’s sad. Your in the country with lots of bugs. The A/C units work fine, with no surprises if guests read their contract. Glad you enjoyed the outdoor experience.

Great family vacation

We had a great time staying at Rusty Rio. There were 12 of us, so we had plenty of room to spread out. The pool was certainly the highlight of the house. With 5 and 6 year olds, it was nice to have constant entertainment for them after spending the days on the river. We spent a day at Garner State Park and another day at the 3rd crossing which is only a few minutes from Rusty Rio. We went to see the bats nearby and everyone enjoyed that! We chose to get the linens provided and while that was convenient, the towels are fairly small and rough and there were no washcloths provided. That may have well been in the agreement, I am not sure. I am a washcloth girl! There were plenty of hand towels provided, so we improvised with those. There are plenty of utensils and dishes provided in the kitchen. Next time I will bring a few pots and pans. These were provided but not in ideal condition. The wifi connection was stellar! Even with 12 people using the internet, service was never an issue! There were a few issues in the house that needed attention and when I gave a list of them to the property manager, he was so glad to have them reported! None of it needed to be tended to while we were there, and I'm sure it will be taken care of before the next guests arrive. There was plenty of parking for 6 vehicles! We saw plenty of deer and even a few skunks which were quite cute. We also saw some bats at the property. We had a great time and have already looked at the calendar to return to Rusty Rio next summer! Thank you!

Rusty Rio Family Trip 2020

This property was great! We had a smooth check in process, enjoyed our stay, not far from river access and kids enjoyed the pool, fire pit for s’mores and really enjoyed feeding the deer out in front yard. House had plenty of room for all our family With some extra to spare and plenty of space to add some air mattresses if need be. We are looking forward to renting again next season. Thank you
