Not Impressed Especially for the Cost

No hot water in the kitchen sink, toilet in master bath did not work properly, 2nd bathroom was missing toilet paper holder, the 3rd bedroom is extremely small, could barely fit suitcase in the room. Elevators on the property kept breaking. Only 3 elevators to start with so sometimes had to wait 30 minutes on an elevator. Only gave 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and I had 5 girls so needless to say I had to buy more and two rolls from the hotel general store cost over 7.00 which is crazy high. Parking pass would not work to let us in or out. We had to leave an Id with the attendant to get a cart to get our luggage to the room. If you stay here bring your own dishwasher soap and trash bags which I was thankful I did. The only thing we liked about our stay was the distance to pier park. We will be staying somewhere else next time for sure.

Location was the best part of the stay

I loved the location most of all. Walk to shops and restaurants. The views were excellent. The condo could have been cleaned better.

Great place to stay

Unit was clean and nice, but the star of the show was the property management company. By far the most accommodating and the best communication I have ever experienced.

It was a great area close to shopping and restaurants.The condos shower didn’t have much pressure and the queen bed was so hard no one wanted to sleep on it .Over all it was ok.The young lady at the condo gift store was awesome!

Convenient location

The condo itself was nice, clean, and well furnished. It is conveniently located via a 5 minute walk to restaurants, shops, and entertainment for all ages. Parking across street in garage was adequate. Tiki bar nice, open 11-8 daily. Hallways, pool area, elevators, beach seemed to be a bit unkept with trash in them at many times of the day.

Good stay, few problems

The condo was overall nice. The location was great. Views were beautiful. The air conditioning was terrible freezing in the bedrooms and sweating in the living spaces. Cable TV did not work most of the time. No working batteries in any remotes. Left a day early due to air conditioning problems.

Furniture was old. Found an aleve tablet by the master bed and sucker under the couch. Main slider for balcony very hard to open. No can opener in kitchen. But can’t beat the location.

Nice Room

The room was nice, as expected. The second bedroom did have a closet door that was messed up, however, the rest of the unit was in great condition. The only issues we had were caused from the parking passes, which was the Calypso’s issue, not RealJoy. These issues were resolved early into our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and our room. I would recommend renting from RealJoy/VRBO again. However, the Calypso was a bit crowded and busier than we would like. It is difficult to get around with small children.

Needs updates/cleaning

Overall great location that needs some attention. Condo needs updates and attention to (plumbing) fixtures. Master shower head is improperly installed and leaks/low pressure. The furniture and mattresses are very outdated and broken down and the 3rd (BR) barely fits the bed in it with no closet. My teen daughter was very uncomfortable in the space all week. We had beautiful days and the views are very nice.

Not a Happy Time

The front door would not open all the way, floors were dirty, ceiling fan/light remotes did not work properly, bathroom sink drains plugged (not a recent happening, I cleaned the sink drains myself), the sliding door from the living room was extremely hard to open/close, master bathroom toilet paper holder about to fall off the wall, all furniture extremely outdated and in disrepair, master bedroom and the front left bedroom TV's did not work. Location and the free beach were the only positives.

Loved the Condo

The condo was clean and nice. We lived the location. Only issue was the onsite security. I’m a 50 year old woman and sat in the same chair by pool all week. They would ask me 8-10 times a day to show my bracelet. They had a bar and sold nice drinks but then I couldn’t drink it by the pool. I can understand checking the kids but the same adult that many times a day was not relaxing. They even woke me up to ask me. If we would get up to go get a drink or go to bathroom. The security would move your towels off your chairs. But the line for bar was long so it would take sometimes 30-40mins to get a drink. When you would come back your stuff was moved it was beyond frustrating. Almost everyone by the pool was complaining. We were all older adults. Most security was nice but the one lady with dark hair was the one causing it to not be relaxing. The days she was off it was nice.

Worst experience we’ve had with VRBO

Due to COVID restrictions we wanted a property that was exceptionally clean and this property was advertised as such. Imagine our surprise when the unit was found with many, many cleaning issues. Floors not swept, hair in the drawers/cabinets, stove unclean, chairs unclean, soap on dryer, dirty doors/walls, etc., q-tip in the sink, we could go on and on. I have photos if needed. We contacted the property manager within minutes of our arrival and was told there was no other units available for our stay and that the cleaning company would return. They were nice but we had to go around the unit to explain what was dirty. We have never had this happen before. Even part of our party was using their cleaning supplies to help clean, completely rediculous! We should not have had to start our vacation this way! If the things we could see were unclean I can only only imagine what we couldn’t see. We spent the first day of our trip cleaning the unit, absolutely absurd! For the price we paid this was absolutely rediculous. We were told the property manager would “make it right”, we were given a $50 gift card two days into our trip. Hardly covers time time/trouble we went through. We will never rent with RealJoy or this unit again. One of the beds was also broke which we notified them of at check in. We were told it was a quick fix and they would be there shortly to fix. No one ever arrived. Then two days later when they delivered our gift card my husband mentioned it again. They offered to send someone up and we told them to forget it since we would not be available to wait for Someone to arrive and we did not feel comfortable with someone in the unit if we were not there. Imagine our surprise when we return from dinner to find that someone had been there and fixed the bed. We were glad it was fixed but again they did not abide by our request. Never have I ever been so glad to leave a vacation and return home. Usually we are sad to leave but we were more than happy to get out of that place.
