The room was very clean when I entered for my stay. Having a clean room makes the trip so much easier to come in and start relaxing. The balcony has a stunning view of the ocean.

Very nice

Very nice condo but needed a few repairs while we were there, but know big deal that’s what you get with rentals! The only thing we didn’t like was how expensive beach chair rentals were and lasted only till 5pm!

Great location but could use updating and better cleaning

Location of property is great. Love that we were within walking distance of a good bit of stuff and the beach was right there. Condo could use some updating and better cleaning staff. Floors were dirty and tables, dressers, etc. were dusty. One bathroom door knob was broken. Family got stuck in the bathroom several times.

We celebrated our daughter's 4th birthday here, it was a nice, quiet, laid back condo. My husband fell down the steps getting into the pool there was so much algae on them. We accidentally left my daughter's camera baby monitor...we paid to have it shipped back only to see that it had been broken prior to packaging. After much back & forth the staff could never provide me the information so I could file a claim. The keurig was broken, the pans were wobbly, the kitchewares truly need to be replaced. We enjoyed the beach access and balcony the most.

Property was very nice , large enough for the whole family! A few things need to be taken care of, but not a big deal, it’s a rental and things come loose and need attention! But very clean and comfortable! The only thing that is a drawback is how expensive it is for beach chairs and umbrella, the rental can be upwards of 350 a week and is only till 5pm everyday! The facilities are great , great location, beach is very clean and wonderful but plan on paying a lot for chairs rental! They will NOT let you bring your own umbrella!

Something for all ages in Destin Lots of space in the condo Check in was seamless The only negative is that there is black mold type stuff in the master shower.

Great location!

Our trip was 4 nights, with two adults taking 7 teenage boys. This place was perfect for our trip. Easy access to beach, plenty of restaurants within walking distance, as well as fun activities within walking distance or a short drive. I would recommend do an inventory of supplies and plan on going to grocery store to make sure you have enough dishwasher tablets and trash bags for your group. Would love to stay here again!

No accessory’s

We loved the size and the room- great porches to over look beach. Bad is the Kitchen had no accessories for cook & or anything, had to borrow some random guys stuff to Grille with, plus the washer machine had mold growing in it, pour dish washer too. The resort is great and good. Liked the place but not the room.

Disappointed for sure.

Although we had a nice time, we were disappointed with the property, especially considering what we paid to stay there. While the condo was "clean", it was in need of some TLC for sure. The carpets were super worn and dirty, the mattresses were not comfortable and the fitted sheets did not fit the mattresses or stay on them while sleeping, we could not locate the remote control to the TV in the main living area so could not tell if it was a smart TV or not, and the parking garage space that was advertised/included as part of the rental was not usable as it was piled full of old appliances/furniture. Also, the "welcome" mat to enter the condo was super gross-and this was the first thing we saw when we arrived. I almost bought a $10 new door mat at Walmart to leave behind. While we enjoyed our stay with family, we unfortunately will not be back to this unit.

Destin Sterling Sands condo 701

Location was great. Close to good seafood restaurants, boat rentals. On arrival there was a fishy smell from the refrigerator and the ice maker did not work. The carpet in the twin bedroom was in dire need of replacement. Dirty and stained. Housekeeping had used a carpet fresher. It was so strong it stunk and gave me a headache. I texted Vacasa about the ice maker, washer, dryer not working and they apologized and told me someone would be there the next day. No update was sent so I assumed no one came. I’ve maker started working on its own. Texted them again and once again they apologized and told me they were going to contact the local manager and have someone come out. Next day no one came no update was text to me. At that point it is day 3 no clean towels. I went to call the lobby and of course the phone did not work. I called from my cell and talked to a nice lady who said they were never notified of any problems. She bought has fresh towels. I told her we never used the dishwasher because it also stank so not sure if it worked. Never connected to the Wi-Fi because the address was never found on my phone. The price I payed definitely did not match the condition of the condo or the service we did not get. Would not stay here again

Unit needs a good renovation

Pros: Location. Right on the beach. Heated pool during spring break time. Cons: Unit was not very clean upon arrival. It looked as if it had not been dusted in over a month, Big disappointment with the showers in master bedrooms. Lots of mold on the trim and caulking. AC vents are dirty. AC was not working and did not get fixed until I had to ask about it for 3 days. Not terrible for April, but would be a big deal in the summer. Overall: Nice location right on the beach, but I would not return to this unit until it was renovated, especially the bathrooms.

Needs some work

First off, let me say that the building location and amenities can’t be beat! Love Sterling Sands condo and we have been staying here annually since I got married there in 2000. That being said, I will not rent unit 701 again. First off, it’s on the east end of the building and features a view of the highway and the building next door. The 3rd bedroom lockout balcony overlooks the parking lot and a busy intersection and is not at all pleasant. The main balcony gulf front is nice, but turns and looks at the side of the building next door. The unit is old and dated and needs a complete remodel. The decor is not very beachy. The kitchen was adequately stocked with cooking supplies but just the basics. Love the proximity to The Back Porch for meals and the heated pool and hot tub are wonderful. Thanksgiving is a great time to visit because it’s off season and not at all crowded.

Sterling Sands is a great location. Condo 701 is nice, but needs updating. Carpet in the bedrooms is very worn as well as the rug in the great room area.
