Located in the same complex is another family owned condo that sleeps 4 - perfect for friends who wish to vacation together but prefer to have their own accommodations. It couldn't be more affordable or convenient for 8 - 10 people.
But a truly spectacular vacation isn't only about resting - you have after all come to the quaint village of Cabarete! Fast becoming internationally famous for extreme water sports, kitesurfers and windsurfers from around the globe flock to these beaches. And you are located minutes from all the action! If you come during the third week in June, you must be sure to take in the Cabarete Kiteboarding World Cup competition!
A 10-15 minute walk along the beach or a 2 minute taxi ride takes you to the center of Cabarete where you'll find many beachfront restaurants and nightclubs. This beach experience is like nothing you've experienced before! Amazing international cuisine, dancing, music - it's really an experience you'll never forget! You can also take lessons for most water sports or just enjoy watching the many kitesurfers! As you browse the local shops, the myriad of languages spoken add to the bohemian flair of this village.
Take some time to enjoy the many tours/activities offered such as cascading down waterfalls, snorkeling, caving, whale watching, golf, horseback riding along the beach, catamaran and the list goes on! Sosua Beach is a must-see for visitors (10 minute taxi ride or be adventurous and take the local guagua or motto concho). At Sosua you can snorkel to the reefs or sail to Paradise Island. Other day trips might include golf at the famous Robert Trent Jones course or go into Santiago or Santo Domingo for museums, cigar factories etc. It's paradise waiting for you!
My husband and I live in Northern Alberta and while we love the four seasons that it offers, our preference is really the summer season. We love to travel to Dominican Republic 2-3 times per year to enjoy the sunshine and the friendly people and enjoy a place that really feels like home to us.
Andy and Raymonde Lussier purchased this condo in 2010
We loved Cabarete, Dominican Republic, the first time we vacationed there. This bohemian little village is an eclectic mix of people from around the globe who come here to enjoy the excellent conditions for extreme water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and surfing. This lively little beach town offers quaint shops where you hear a myriad of languages spoken and wonderful beach restaurants and bars that come alive in the evening. The area has so much to explore from the Caves of El Choco National Park to the 27 Waterfalls where you can literally cascade down the falls. You can whale watch in Samana Bay, snorkel to reefs off the beach in Sosua and the list goes on and on.
We love our new beachfront condo as it's the perfect place for a quiet rest in a serene and beautiful environment where you can chose to do as little or as much as you want during each visit. Our guests tell us that they'd like to return and we're not surprised - we like to return too!
My first time to Dom. Rep. and it was one to remember. I came here for a birthday celebration and it was just that. We enjoyed dinner at Jose O'Shay. The 27 Waterfalls was "outstanding" - a must see for all. Paradise Island was also a nice tour. The weather was perfect for our visit. It was very peaceful here and a great view. Friendly personnel - A Must See to believe! We will miss our little slice of paradise. Back to Washington, D.C. for me. (note, this was handwritten the Guestbook in the apartment.)
Wow! We couldn't have asked for a better location or condo for our week in Cabarete. The condo is located on the most beautiful, quiet and pristine beach, but only a 10 minute fabulous beach walk to town. The ocean views from the condo are truly breathtaking and AMAZING!! Once in town, there are so many restaurants and shops, it is hard to choose a favorite. Many restaurants are located right in the sand on the beach, with beautiful views of the island while watching the many kite surfers. Favorite place for a refreshing Mojito is actually Mojito's on the beach! The condo is tastefully decorated and more beautiful than shown in the pictures. Very spacious and airy. There is always a wonderful ocean breeze flowing through the condo, so there is no need for air conditioning. Kevin and Francine were very helpful and very quick to address any concerns. Security is also very attentive, but very friendly, always with a quick "Hola" and a smile. Also, we highly recommend Ismael for personal tours and taxi service. Make sure you go to lunch with him in Puerto Plata. Best local fish and fried plantains!! We definitely plan to return to Cabarete and the Victorian. Thank you Raymonde and Andy for sharing your little piece of paradise!
The location of this condo was exactly what we were looking for.The view did not disappoint. The kitchen is minimally equipped but Francine did replace the broken blender and brought a baking dish for us.The condo is just as pictured on line however the boogie boards were broken and the king bed in the master bedroom had a pronounced mildew smell. We found the walk into town just right and Janet's (nearby) has all the groceries you are likely to need. This stretch of beach is not too developed and retains a natural beauty which we loved. There is lots of wind and waves and ocean swimming is OK but not suitable for children. We were grateful for the beach chairs and umbrella and used both every day.The condo property and grounds are clean, quiet and well cared for and the pool is lovely.Be aware that a damage deposit is required in cash on arrival(not as stated on the VRBO web site) and obtaining cash from ATM's or a bank can be tricky.
Just returned from a weekend getaway in Cabarete. This apartment is beautiful, ocean front, very elegant and fully equipped. Very close to great restaurants and super market. very secured and folks who work on grounds were very friendly. Kevin and Francine who manage the property were very accommodating.
Our family of 5 spent Christmas here and it was our first visit to DR. The condo was well maintained, clean, and charming. The huge glass doors opened wide to the alluring veranda and ocean beyond. The walk into Cabarete was the perfect distance and not too long. The beaches are easy to walk on (firm and clear). The pool was great for getting some sun, but the hot tub was not working. Francine was super easy to work with, and helpful. We truly enjoyed the trip, and would highly recommend this awesome condo!
Just got back from our 6 day stay and first visit to the DR. Our goal was to get away and relax from the stresses at home and this condo fit the bill. The condo was clean and decorated elegantly with personal touches that make you feel warm and welcome. After a great night's sleep in comfy beds we'd get up to a beautiful ocean view and then open the sliding doors to enjoy coffee and the sound of the waves on the lovely patio. Next, a 3 mile run on the quiet beach and then a full afternoon of sunbathing at the well kept pool which overlooks the ocean. We preferred eating in to going out. Close-by Janet's supermarket made that easy! Fairly late in our stay we discovered El Buen Comer, local place with yummy authentic DR food. We made multiple trips there one afternoon during its limited open hours at lunch time. Our daughters enjoyed the freedom of easily going out on their own to sunbath by the pool with the condo just steps away for the bathroom and grabbing refreshments. This gave my husband and I some time to ourselves to talk and relax. Jacuzzi was also clean and refreshing. You can sit in it and watch the kite surfers ride by. It was an all around nice stay! :)
