The World's Fair Retreat will not only give you one of the most unique and enjoyable stays in the Midwest, but it will also take you back in time to 1904 when St. Louis was not only a major industrial empire, but a crown jewel of the ENTIRE WORLD - thanks to the 1904 World's Fair held in the Forest Park of St. Louis. You'll be enchanted by the elegant design/decor that is ALL based around the early century Victorian era and the STL World's Fair. The retreat is completely decorated with art, photos, aerial maps, antiques, original postcards, books, and memorabilia from the fair that will give any visitor or history buff a true understanding of how truly grand this event was.
More than just 1 or 2? No problem - there is a queen sized memory foam sleeper sofa in the living room AND a queen sized memory foam pull out bed in the dining room. AND there's also a full tea/coffee station along with a few breakfast items we keep stocked for you (which is fun to prepare and then enjoy in the relaxing breakfast room). Perfect for helping you get energized in the mornings!

*NEIGHBORHOOD DETAILS The Tower Grove East neighborhood is conveniently located near 2 highways and a number of popular city attractions, parks, and neighborhoods. The retreat is only 1 block away from one of the best (and highest Yelp rated) BBQ joints in the city - The Shaved Duck. Also very close by in walking distance is another handful of popular local bars, restaurants, convenient stores, and Tower Grove Park.
Tower Grove Park This wooded Victorian strolling park rewards meandering. Its 340 kinds of trees could chart every shade of green, and they attract 200 kinds of birds, from red-shafted flickers and monk parakeets to ospreys and ring-billed gulls. Henry Shaw developed the park to give St. Louis “a grand pleasure ground,” with wide lanes for horse-drawn carriages, gates guarded by zinc griffins, and exotic pavilions and gazebos. Every few feet, there’s something to see: lions copied from the tomb of Pope Clement XIII, heroic sculptures (Shakespeare’s here), busts (including Mozart), and antiquities (columns from the Old Courthouse and stone “ruins” from the old Lindell Hotel, reflected in one of the most picturesque ponds in St. Louis). Park officials also recently uncovered a long-forgotten stream on the park's east side, accenting it with rain gardens and native plants on either side.
Tower Grove Park - key events - Tower Grove Pride Fest - Festival of Nations - Food Truck Friday’s - Tuesday & Saturday Farmer’s Market - Outdoor Yoga on Saturday’s - Monday eve Concerts In The Park
Missouri Botanical Gardens - Whitaker Music Festival: every Wednesday night with live music (May through July) .............

Clean and convenient space located in the heart of St. Louis. Super quite neighborhood with lots of parking available. Space was fully equipped with everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!
This property was beautiful and very conveniently located. There was a lot of attention to detail from the full length mirror in the bedroom to a filtered water pitcher in the fridge. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever encountered in a VRBO. I would definitely recommend this property to other adults staying in St Louis. This property is not family friendly but perfect for a couples get away.
Great location. Quiet neighborhood. Very convenient to downtown and other restaurants and fun locations. Easy parking. Very comfortable stay and host was super great!
Great place…loved the location. The only things that didn’t go well was the inability to control the thermostat. It was quite hot/muggy…especially at night. Also, the tv had no sound (we couldn’t figure out the problem) and there was no coffee.
Clean property, easy to find and park. Bed in bedroom really comfy. Dining room pull out bed was surprisingly comfortable. Super cute decor. Perfect spot for concert at the Dome.
The host made sure that I had everything I needed and was very friendly in correspondence. The house was cozy and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.
Cute home and theme/decor! We had a very pleasant stay and learned a lot about the state fair. Keypad entry made it convenient to "check in" and the host answered our questions quickly! The house it's self was clean and comfortable. The only feedback I have is that the house was rather dusty.
Light switches were quirky and hard to understand, I looked for the manual you mentioned, but could not find it. The front door was easy to open, but took MANY tries to lock. All in all, this place worked well for us and we thank you.
This apartment has a lot to offer. It’s spacious, nicely furnished with an eclectic mix of furniture and area rugs that show off the hardwood floors. That said, the bathroom sink was unusable because the faucet didn't produce water, and the in-sink soap dispenser was empty. As a result, my morning and evening toiletries were completed at the kitchen sink. Apparently, the owner relies on his house cleaner to insure that everything is in good working order. In a former life, I owned a condo in Puerto Vallarta that we rented to visitors when we were back in the US. We paid a property management company based in Puerto Vallarta to check in guests, make sure that supplies were replenished, and cleaned the condo after the guests departed. Undoubtedly, there are many well-qualified property managers in St. Louis the the owner could engage rather than relying on his house cleaner to manage his rental unit.

The sink worked, I told this guest numerous times that the handle needs to be pulled up (not turned). And there is a foam soap dispenser sitting right on the sink, so it baffles me that he is still choosing to complain about the internal dispenser that is not used. I went to the property during his stay to confirm all of this, so it’s disappointing to read he is still choosing to be this dramatic in his review.
And he also tried to lecture us in DM’s about using a property manager for this property - which we found quite offensive and rude.
About the host
Hosted by Tony Bove
Hello, we've been on VRBO for a few years now, and we absolutely love it. When we travel we want to get the FULL LOCAL EXPERIENCE - which makes us feel like a local, in a local neighborhood, eating at local restaurants, and doing local things. This is what VRBO is ALL ABOUT. And now also as hosts, it brings us the greatest joy that we can offer these same experiences to travelers coming to our beautiful city.
My name is Tony, and with my wife Filomena and two fur babies we are the BOVE family. I am an A/V Project Manager for Centene and she is a Varicose Vein RN at St. Anthony's Hospital.
We are a young active couple that loves to travel (of course), cook at home or eat at unique restaurants, and have a good time with our friends. I am also an audio engineer and music enthusiast. I graduated from Full Sail University with 2 degrees in Recording Arts and Entertainment Business. Filomena has her nursing degree from Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing & Allied Health.
We are very active and always on the go, but we always have time for our guests!
