About Mahi Orfanou
Mahi the owner lives in Volos on the mainland so her grandparents look after the villa most of the time. Her housekeeper Anthi and Eleni speak English and they will welcome you to Villa Aigaio
Mahi Orfanou purchased this Villa in 2014
Why Mahi Orfanou chose Sporades
Villa Aigio is a perfect holiday home but its crowning glory is its position. The area north of the village of Glossa is know as Punta(pronouced "Punda") and for thousands of years was home to tiny communities of subsistence farmers with olive, fruit and nut trees ,growing vines and keeping sheep. Those communities have gone now ,although the trees and the sheep remain! and the area is a paradise of nature. there are wild forests, steep coves and little used pathways and the silence is wonderful. The perfect place to get away from it all but still close enough to local amenities to walk to them .. if you are feeling energetic. The views are what entrance most visitors though as the view to the west across the island of Skiathos to the mainland and the mountain ranges of central Greece is truly breathtaking. But also turn to the south and you see the island of Evvia and then to the north Mt Pelion rises 1,600 meters(over 5000ft) from the sea. And come sunset all this is set off by a show of light and colours you will always remember/

Super schönes Haus toller Ausblick
Wir hatten 14 tolle Urlaubstage in diesem schönen Haus. Sehr sauber. Super Meerblick. Schöner Pool. Einzig, die Zufahrt ist wirklich etwas holprig... sehr schöne Insel 😊
If you want to get totally away from it all and enjoy perfect peace and relaxation then this is the place for you! This house looked amazing from the photos but the reality exceeded our expectations. With no close neighbours the only sounds are the waves below and the cicadas. We were met off the ferry by Eleni the housekeeper who led us up to the house (so remote it would have been v hard to find it without her!) stopping to show us the supermarket on the way. Eleni made us feel extremely welcome from the start and did a great job of looking after us throughout the week. The house itself was very comfortable and very well kitted out with everything you could possibly need on holiday. We spent most of our time outside where there was a huge patio area with a shady seating area, a covered bbq area with dining table (great for dinner in the evening whilst watching the sun set) and the highlight was the pool. It was the perfect temperature and was dipped into many times throughout the day to cool off. Glossa is about a 20-25 minute walk away. This is a lovely town and a maze of narrow streets. The local people were very friendly and always gave you a warm hello when you passed them in the street. The rooftop terrace and Agnanti were two great restaurants we found where you are guaranteed an amazing view, some great food and a warm welcome from the staff. We loved every minute of our stay at the house and on the island and were very sorry to leave. Thank you Mahi/Anthoula for the use of this fantastic house. We very much hope to be back some day. The house is new and charming. Pool is clean and well-managed. Panorama is breathtaking.
This is a house for a family that is happy lounging at the pool, reading and relaxing. If you have chosen to be on Skopelos island, you know you have selected a place where there is no nightlife or other excitement. There are a few beaches you can drive to, and in the nearby colorful village of Glossa there are several restaurants with good Greek food. The property has no close neighbors, so there is nothing to disturb you. You must be a little flexible, though. You should know that the half-mile access road to the villa is a very rough track, and you'll be glad that the car you drive is a rented one. This is not mentioned in the description because this is standard in Greece, and everyone who has ever rented in Greece knows what the roads are like, especially private access roads. Though you have a 180 degree panorama of the sea and islands, you are not on the shore, but on a steep hillside a mile or so from the shore. There are almost no villas on Skopelos adjacent to the shore, and those few are within villages. We rented this villa in 2017 and again in late summer 2018, and plan to come here again next year, so you can see that we love it.
Stunning location, beautiful house.
This house is simply beautiful. Incredibly well appointed, fantastic helpful owners and, above all, one of the most spectacular locations you will find.
The owners attention to detail is superb - the house is equipped with everything you will need and more. The gardens are beautifully planted and landscaped, the pool is deep with breath-taking views, and both the outside and inside spaces are so well appointed, with such attention to detail, that it would be impossible not to have the best time here.
As a family of four we all fell totally in love with the place and cannot wait to come back. We all fell in love with with Skopelos - the island is amazing, but this house made the whole experience something really special for us and we take back fantastic memories and will definitely will he back. Thank you.
Stunning villa with beautiful views
Well what a fabulous Villa, the views were spectacular, the sunsets breathtaking. The owner could not have been more accommodating, we arrived earlier than our expected time but plans we rearranged and Eleni met us to drive us to the villa.
The villa does have a track road down to it, but we were in a small Fiat Panda and the route posed no problems for us, if you're only used to city driving you may find it more challenging.
The villa is perfectly located for a walk into Glossa, it only takes about 20 mins to walk and we did it on most days. Glossa is only 10 mins in the car and there are a number of fabulous restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
We also visited Skopelos Town for lunch, a drive or circa 40 minutes but with views along much of the route.
The villa itself is very well equipped and whilst we didn't eat there often it had everything we needed.
There is plenty of outside space meaning an impromptu game of basketball was possible without the risk of falling in the pool!.
Skopelos itself is stunning, and as a regular visitor to the Greek Islands I would say Skopelos is my favourite.
Would highly recommend.
Villa Aigaio stole our hearts
The villa is wonderful, equipped in traditional greek way and you'll have never enough of the view from terrace when you open the door of your bedroom in the morning. The views are amazing. It is a house, fully equiped with completely new appliances, relaxing beds, clean and with a great terrace with sunset view.
This beautiful quiet end of the island is just a few minutes from the unspoilt hill village of `Glossa and the lovely local beaches. It is a tranquil area with amazing views towards the west. There is a local kayak school which has accompanied trips for all ages and experience levels . Also there is a diving school, stand up paddle boarding etc but most people come just to relax drink in the views, and the local wine ,and enjoy this unspoiled paradise. The church of Ayios Yannis made famous by the film "Mamma Mia" is just a short drive away too.
The village,Glossa, is sometimes called the balcony of the Aegean as its elevated position gives panoramic views at every turn.It has shops, tavernas, coffee shops, a pharmacy etc and is still very much a "real" Greek village. Its port just below the village is Loutraki ,where the ruins of a roman settlement can be found, and this ancient place is a sleepy but useful place to eat and drink by the sea and access the waterborne transport .
