We were back this summer for a second week like last year. Very quiet. The weather was perfect in late August. Loved kayaking. Highly recommend renting them for your stay.

The view of the lake was beautiful. The landscaping had been refreshed including a more substantial fire pit. The dining table was large and perfect for our group of 6. The property was clean and had a good supply of towels. The kitchen has everything you need to cook in or outdoors with plenty of dishes. The house was decorated nicely. We enjoyed our stay and if we were to return to the area would book it again.

I was really disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. The outdoor furnishing were filthy- so coulbt really enjoy a lot of the outside. Couldn’t sit on the upper deck, the chairs by the water or the lower deck because of dirt. The showers were full of black mold and soap scum. The property owners sent someone to clean who let themselves in while we were out. She had a bottle of spray and one eag. She attempted to clean the bathrooms with that rag, then wiped down the outside tables with it. Upper bathroom toilet was loose and there was a pervasive urine odor throughout the upstairs. Good location, nice fire pit and gorgeous view of the lake.

Thank you for sharing this detailed feedback. I am very sorry for the cleanliness issues you experienced and for the discomfort caused by the way the follow-up cleaning was handled. Your comments about the outdoor furniture, bathrooms, and overall condition are concerning and will be reviewed carefully with the cleaning team and property management. It is good to know you appreciated the location, fire pit, and lake view, and we regret that the other issues affected your stay.

Perfect location

Beautiful home with fabulous amenities right on the water. The private dock was my favorite place to be. We rented a boat from the local marina. We greatly enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit! The view and location couldn’t be beat! I hope to go back soon!

Very nice stay, but the house could have been cleaner.

The location was great for our skiing trip. The house was spacious and well stocked. The hot tub had an off smell to it, almost like a well water smell. The only other downfall was the house could have been cleaner. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling lights and a thick layer of dust all over the area above the mantle.

Beautiful view

The house is very nice--the best thing about it is the view of the lake. In warmer weather, the outdoor furnishings would be perfect. The kitchen is small but well equipped, and the living and dining areas are comfortable. The beds were ok but the mattresses were not as thick as I would have expected and tended to slide if you sat on the edge. The rent seemed high for this time of year, neither winter (for skiing) or summer for outdoor activities.

great fall weekend at Bearfoot Lodge

Loved the house, the décor, the location, even the bear statue greeting us at the front door. It is even nicer than the photos, in my opinion. Had a fabulous weekend. We went in mid November, and didn't realize the dock would be hauled away for the winter by that time. So that was a bit disappointing, but there is a rock beach (exposed due to low water level) so we could hang out near the water's edge. There were mechanical issues with the hot tub. The rental company came out once and fixed it, but the second issue happened late the evening before we left, so we didn't have use of it for that evening or the morning of check out.

Nice location and view and access to the lake, but the exterior of the property was a mess. It looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned since last summer. The patio furniture was filthy. No covers, so we had to clean everything off in order to use it. Some were too dirty to even mess with. Shouldn’t have to spend an hour cleaning off furniture. The interior was nice. The master bath upstairs was in need of some repairs. The water pressure was very low, and it took several minutes for the hot water to flow. The toilet wolves and you have to hold the handle down until it flushes completely.

Fine until it snowed

Location was great, house was nice and mostly clean, hot tub a great touch, but the driveway was a major problem. I specifically asked about the parking situation leading up to the stay and was given wrong information. When it snowed overnight and I couldn't get my AWD SUV up the drive, I called to request salt/plow. They said someone would be out, but no one came. The next morning when it was time to depart, one of our vehicles still couldn't get out. I called again and the rep was able to get someone to come an hour later and he salted by hand which took another 20 minutes. Incredibly frustrating overall.

Inside the home was clean. The outdoor spaces were as clean as can be expected for a woodland home. We did not use the hot tub but it was serviced while we were there and it looked immaculate inside. Easy access to local attractions. Great stay!!
